I called to set up appointment. I had to leave a message. Monica called me back next day and we scheduled a service appointment for a Wednesday. Wednesday comes and no confirmation call from Monica or technician. I called 3 x to find out what was going on but kept getting answering machine so I left about 3 messages. Monica calls me at approximately 5pm to say she did not realize it was gonna be a hot week. She implied that because my appointment was for basic maintenance they prioritized other appointments. The only reason Monica called me is because I called and left 3 messages to find out if they were going to come or not. No courtesy call or nothing. They need to get their act together. Bottom line is stay away from this family owned business. They are unorganized and unprofessional. Surprised they are still in business. read more

We have been using this business for a long time, used to be pretty good. When Linda was working, they had good repore, good communication and easy scheduling. Now it seems a little unreliable. Had a difficult time scheduling a time for them to come. They kept saying they will let us know, but it took a few days before we had to call them again. Cody was good, came in and did some maintenance. Matt was facitious and seemed irritated about having to work. I felt bad for his apprentice, he was very nice and polite. Matt didn't know what his other coworker did a few days before (he asked us) which made it seem like their communication between each other is lacking. I liked having a regular air con company to go to...but it's probably time to move on. Matt may have woke up on the wrong side of the bed...wishing him better days in the future. read more

I've been using Albert's air conditioning services for several years. They've always been reliable and responsive. But because of covert we haven't had anybody service our air conditioner in about 3 years, so this year when it turned hot the air conditioner didn't have enough refrigerant that really cool the house down and we were dying. That weekend the first hot weather hit I started calling but they were closed on the weekends. The following week they did come out and service the air condition it wasn't cheap but it was welcome. Now our air conditioner works very well and I don't believe we're going to have any problems with it this year. read more

They sent someone to diagnose for AC repair. He couldn't do anything and said that he will send someone else who is more capable. I paid $145 for diagnose and next day, they called back to say they are not sending anyone else and I need a new ac unit. I called another place and they fixed my ac and currently running fine. They just charged me $145 and disappeared. They are thieves. read more

Leaving this review because I feel other people should know about Matt Fernando's lack of professionalism. I called Alber's today to take a look at my thermostat and see if it was broken or it was just a result of the rolling blackouts taking place in SoCal right now. It was the latter. Despite the diagnosis I'm still only rating 1 star because he entered my home without a mask and when I asked him to put one on before coming back in he seemed irate and told me he didn't have one. How are you working during a pandemic and don't have a mask? Going into people's homes? I gave him one to use and he continued to stand by my door speaking out loud without putting on the mask. He and Ray got along great and it all went very smoothly. He took care of my youngest sons HVAC when he bought a house and replaced my older son's when he moved too. Alber's does a lot of things right - like answer the phone and show up when they're supposed to. In this day and age, that's actually a hard thing to find. I've called Alber's a few times, this time I was helped by Hector, who was genuinely interested in getting my AC running in tip-top shape, rather than trying to sell me a new one. There's a few things I know he could've charged me extra for but didn't, and that's a good guy and a genuine company. They may be a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. I'd rather pay a little extra for decent service than try to be cheap and get something I don't want, like getting convinced to get a new AC. read more

Don't bother with these people. We have been having issues with our ac unit. Previously, someone from Alberts had come and "fixed" it. But it didn't work. My dad called on a Saturday and made an appointment to have someone come out and check for us. My uncle was home for two days waiting for service and no one came. Oddly enough, a different company called trying to confirm our appointment. That was more than strange but hey, maybe they subcontract and it would have been nice to know that from the beginning - either that or someone in Albers office is giving their business away. My uncle told the unknown company that we did not have business with them. He called the number for Albers and was told we didn't have an appointment because it had been cancelled. That same day, my father who made the initial appointment, called to find out why no one came. At first he was told that no appointment had ever been made. A second person said they called our home and that someone told them out unit was working. Huh? That was wrong and maybe there was a miscommunication so my father set up yet another appointment for then to come out today, Thursday. And again no one showed up. We were willing to pay for this service but clearly, Albers doesn't want business. Just looking at this page they obviously don't read or care. But they half-ass their customer service and trying to make those two appointment was like pulling teeth. read more

Will NEVER use them again! Shoddy workmanship. Dangerous installation of a new mini split cassette a/c unit. One strong earthquake and it could have fallen on me or one of my family members. The Technician that did the half-ass work (the owner's son) tried to come back the next day after I complained to the owner about it. I told him to get off my property. This isn't baseball, you don't get 3 strikes with my families safety in play. My GC made the corrections and I will deduct those additional costs from the signed contract amount. These guys were so unprofessional too! Always late; unprepared with insufficient tools - I had to lend him a 5/8" socket; more concerned with accessing my wifi to listen to music than finishing the job promptly; 1-day job took 2-days. This was one of the most positive experience with a repair company I have ever had. From the phone receptionist who was patient and helped me reschedule after an emergency happened and promised to call when the technician was on his way... and she did; to Hector the technician! He was professional, neat and knew his stuff. His quote was pretty much what we suspected. This is my parent's home who have lived there for 55 years and I expected someone to find many problems. I was hesitant to use Alber's AC due to the Yelp reviews I read; however, I still called them and I am glad I did. I called three other companies in my area who were booked. Call Taker: I spoke with Linda who told me the "call out" fee was $89 to diagnosis the problem and that it will rollover to any repairs done (pretty standard). I've called other AC repair businesses who had a fee of $69 but it did not roll over to any repairs. After calling a couple of places, I went back to Alber's because Linda was very straight forward. She gave me approximate prices for issues I may have. Others didn't want to give me price. Linda told me she didn't have an opening today but said she will call me if someone returns from a job early. She called me at approximately 5:30 p.m. (same day) and sent Hector. My issue was the condenser (outside fan unit) was not working. I thought it was one of two things. The compressor (small cylinder) or the fan motor was bad. I figured this out because I'm a youtube expert. Hector came to my house in their business truck and immediately diagnosed and fixed my problem. My circuit breaker for the condenser was loose and wasn't sending power. Hector said he felt bad for coming out for $89 for a simple fix. He tested and inspected my HVAC system, changed the filter, cleaned my condenser, and advised me how to maintenance my unit to prevent future problems. He also showed me things to look for and feel for to ensure the AC unit is working properly. I am happy this repair only cost me $89 instead of hundreds. Part stupidity on my part and partly because my circuit breaker box is in need of a replacement. My job was small and I can't speak for other reviews who had bigger jobs done by this company. I can only speak for what I experienced with Linda and Hector and they are top notched. read more

Update to review below: Unfortunately the drip tray in my unit had rotted through and repair would have been impossible, at 30 years old, it had run its course. The guys at Alber's came out and replaced my system for a great price (it seems like a lot, but when I saw all the technical work going on I now understand the price, aside from the hardware). Good guys, professional and clean. I didn't realize how poorly our old system was performing until the new one fired up! Much quieter and more cold air. Keeping the 5-star review because that's what they deserve. Thanks, everyone at Alber's! ___________ Just want to add to my previous (5-star) review. While out of town, our AC was running for the dog sitter who was staying here. Because she doesn't go into my office, she didn't notice that the unit upstairs had been leaking condensation because both the main and secondary drains had become clogged. I was kind of bummed to find it as I walked in from a week of vacation. Unfortunately my office ceiling had to come down and I will be spending this weekend drywalling. Good news is that Hector was able to clear both lines and get our unit running tip top again, no more leak. Much better than the ~$15k that I was getting ready to pony up for a new system. They came out quick and got it fixed quick, and it wasn't expensive. This is the third time Alber's has been able to keep my AC system limping along, they warned that one day they may not be able to, but for now I'm grateful! read more

Our A/C suddenly stop working in the middle of 90 degree weather temperature. I called Alber's although they can't come that day (after 5 PM), they send someone the following day. Matt replaced the capacitor that blew. He asked if there is anything else he can do and we take advantage of that and have him repair the leak at the coil. He did a great job !! I recommend Alber's when it come to A/C. They know what they are doing and they charge for a reasonable price. read more

My AC capped out on me and I'm sure anyone looking for reviews on AC repair has been experiencing the brutal Southern California heat. I called these guys up and they were super friendly and professional, even though I'm sure they have been up to their ears in phone calls from grumpy uncomfortable people. I did have to wait a couple days for an appointment but like I said it's a busy time of year. I get it. I don't like not being home when maintenance people come to the house but after my fiancé told me how awesome Matt was I quickly felt at ease. It turned out to be a simple fix from a faulty Chinese part that another company had replaced 2 years previous. They used an American part to replace it and now I can relax knowing that my fiancé and our pup are living comfortably. You guys are the best and I will be calling for my future services from now on. Albers is the best....always able to work in an emergency call! My A/C stopped working so I called my father to ask who he had been using for the past 20 years or so. He gave me Albers phone number and said that every time he had needed help with his HVAC system he had always received knowledgeable and fair service. He suggested that I ask for Jose. When Jose came to the house on Saturday morning, after a Friday night panic call, and asked what the issue was (fan running all the time but no cold air coming into the house) he checked the inside and outside units and determined that the problem was a dirty filter in the inside unit and dirt covering the compressor outside. He replaced the filter and hosed off the unit outside and the system started working PERFECTLY! All it cost me was a Saturday service call? Who know that clogged filters could cause such a panic? I had to call again a month or so later and Jose came to the rescue again. The unit was making a very high pitched whining noise. He diagnosed the problem and found that the unit had the original motor which was about 25 years old. He thought it may be bearings going out on the motor. I asked for an estimate on a repair. The estimate for a new motor and the labor to install it was $450.00. I was surprised that the cost was so fair. The motor is under WARRANTY for 1 year and the labor is GUARANTEED for 90 days. I am so happy with their friendly, fair, courteous and knowledgeable service that I will recommend them to everyone I know for HVAC work from now on. read more

I have had a yearly maintenance/check-up arrangement with Albers for several years. I called for a morning appointment, lady scheduled it for this morning and called back this morning and verified technician was on his way. Hector, arrived promptly and began work immediately. He cleaned out the sludge in the drain line from the A/C unit (which had never been done before) and suggested installation of a 55 gal rain barrel to collect and use the evap discharge. Hector explained everything he did clearly and suggested that I stop using the pre-filter at the air intake as the 4 inch filter on the unit itself was enough and the pre-filter would actually add stress to the unit. The temperature split test showed the difference with/without the pre filter and point proved. He tested everything inside and out, cleaned outside unit. Like a good physician would do, he asked if there were any questions about anything before he left. All this for the normal minimum charge. I recommend them to my friends. read more

Got my 4 years old central AC repaired this weekend because it was not cooling. The tech came out and diagnostic my system determine my system is low in refrigerant and there a leak somewhere he cannot pinpoint. So he suggested to inject sealant hopefully sealed the leak wherever it maybe. Basically, I kinda at the mercy of go ahead to pay for all these guess work. They don't guarantee this will resolve my issue so if there'll be additional fee if they need to come back out. After everything were done, my bill came out to be $555 (sealant $150, 1 hour labor $90, & $315 refrigerant at $35 per pound). It remain to be seen if the job they did took care of my issue after $555 later. Keeping my fingers crossed because they do not guarantee their work. In my opinion, there wasn't much of labor, it suck they don't warranty their work, and they are a bit pricey. This is why i gave them average rating for now. I will update this post with better rating in about a year if my issue resolved despite the hefty price. read more

Because of this recommendation and our direct interactions with the owner, we decided to hire Alber's to install a new heating and air conditioning unit in our home. Ray, the owner, spent a significant amount of time assessing our needs and we were pleased with the proposed solution. Now that the system has been installed, we are very satisfied with the result. My personal recommendation is not only based on how well the new system works- but it is the result of having coexisted with the three men associated with the company for three days while the unit was being installed. After recently surviving a moderately-large construction project that was organized by a pushy and dishonest contractor, I was especially concerned with having people in my home that would respect us and our space.
