Yeah, so this place is definitely worth the drive. I pass about 20 taco shops between Oceanside and San Marcos just to go to Albertaco's. Their California burrito is one of the best. It's sizable and the meat is always fresh, not chewy, and very flavorful. The best part is you get everything included with the burrito (AS IT SHOULD BE) like sour cream, guac, and pico. No paying to add those onto an already generally expensive burrito. Don't you hate going to other places and paying $18 for a Cali burrito, and then having to pay $1 or more per ingredient to add sour cream and guac when a Cali burrito should definitely already include those items?! Amirite?!? Tacos are great too! Lots of options for both meat eaters, pescatarian, and even some vegetarian options. This location does not have a drive-thru like the Vista one does. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Very impressed. Had never been to this location before. All my girlfriend heard from me as I was eating was ooh, oh, ooh, oh wow ... everything was so good ! Simple things - quesadilla, beef taco, chips w/ cheese and guacamole, and the hot sauce ! This place is actually my go to everytime it is in the Home Depot parking lot in San Marcos and is open 24/7!!!!!!! That's actually goated for Mexican food! Service is actually very quick but if you are in a rush you can order ahead of time for pickup and they will have your back. My pursuit continues to remain mostly unchanged. There are just too many Mexican take-outs in Southern California to have one dominate brand. I highly recommend adding sour cream to the burrito to give it some extra tang and texture. The rolled tacos are beautifully crunchy. Both the red and green salsas are delicious! And when you're buying paint and shelving and supplies every week for random projects, there's plenty of opportunities to eat at nearby restaurants. Usually that means McDonalds or Carl's Jr., Slaters if we're feeling frisky. But on one solemn occasion, we felt like having burritos. Albertacos is pretty average. In a world where greasy Mexican eateries are on every corner, it takes a lot to make them rise above the rest. Fresh salsa, a good guacamole, meat that's well salted and grilled, and tasty beans and rice; this should be the standard. Albertacos kind of comes close to this, but definitely doesn't go any further. With the standard menu selection, nothing really stands out or makes you want to come back here instead of getting food elsewhere from someplace closer by. It doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. Carne asada here will do in a pinch. And the rolled tacos are on point. But, when you're out and about, and you see a Cotixan or Alerbertos, the food here at Albertacos won't sway you from grabbing something elsewhere. read more

Shitty service and mediocre food. Tried them for the first time today. Ordered 5 chicken rolled tacos and realized they were beef when I bit into one. I called to ask what they could do and the guy pretty much said that I could drive all the way back and place another order for tacos. Then he told me the person who placed the order didn't order it right. It's says ON THE RECEIPT that chicken tacos were ordered. I asked for a refund. He said no.
