    Tri tip
    Kari C.

This Primo Foods location in West Vista is our preferred one. The parking spaces are kinda small, so use caution. The workers here are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. We went to pick up some barbecue on a Tuesday. There is a different line for the Taco Tuesday deal, so fortunately we did not have to wait very long. The barbecue chicken leg quarters are huge! Look at my pic with a fork for scale. $11 for 3 leg quarters. Just an incredible deal and oh so delicious! Tri tip was $23/lb. DH said, "it had great flavor, but I actually like the chicken the best". It was tender and smoky. We picked up some tomatoes, cucumbers, and avocados to make tacos and salad at our vacation home. Overall, this is a great place to pick up some barbecue at outstanding prices. We will definitely return in the future!

They have $.69 cent tacos on Tuesdays and Fridays and you can choose from any meat they offer. It's not the best quality I've ever had but it's still very good with tons of flavor and considering the price, it's great. You can't beat it. It's inside of a grocery store.

I tried the taco Tuesday for .69 cents. That's right $.69 cents. It was very busy and waited about 20 to 30 minutes for the 20 tacos. The carne asada tacos were good. They put cilantro and lime to add more flavor. I give them 3 stars . Give them a try.

Awesome Food and customer service. The price of the BBQ was on the higher side, but well worth it. Parking is crazy, so be prepare for that.

The place is pretty big, and they also have a full bar with TVs, making it a fun place to watch a game at. I had their half chicken and half ribs plate with beans and coleslaw today... and it did not disappoint. Can't get enough of their bbq sauce, so of course I asked for another. We sat at the bar to avoid the long dine in line, and the bar tender was amazing and very attentive. There were 4 of us, and since the portions were pretty big, we had to have a to-go box by the end of our dinner. Overall this is a fun and lively place with good food and drinks.

Service is efficient and it's a lively busy atmosphere inside. We needed food to last us a few days and I was very pleased at the catering take out from Phil's. We got beefy ribs, baby back ribs, chicken, sausages and an assorted box of sides which included macaroni salad, coleslaw, cookies, cornbread, and salad. It was an absolute feast. Typically when I go to Phil's I get a baby back rib tickler, down it and call it a day. I think my new strategy moving forward might honestly be more catering orders like this because boy was it fun to try such a variety of meats. There's something about a bite of beefy ribs then moving on to some bbq chicken and sausages then finishing with some baby back ribs all slathered in that wonderful BBQ sauce. Is this real authentic BBQ? Definitely not. I've been to Texas- specifically Austin and Houston. But it's really good value and in my humble opinion tastes really solid and the variety which is the spice of life really has given new life to my Phils BBQ experience. I'll be getting a catering box again very soon I hope!

Both flavors were super yummy and even when tossed, the skins were crisp through the sauce. Both flats and drums. I'm a tiny bite person and ordered hummus. Don't judge. Came out just as the website suggested in their photo. Consistency is everything. Thoroughly yummy for chat nibbling at $11, great 'share with a friend' food. Hands down the SERVICE!!!!!! We arrived shortly after they opened and I'm currently randomly on crutches so we sat closest/easiest outside. Our Server Deity, Lalah, was: 1) able to answer all of my random questions regarding menu and restaurant history/ownership 2) humorous 3) attentive and.... as the patio filled up, I saw how many regulars arrived that she unrolled the welcome mat for. I will def be suggesting and returning. Had a lovely first time. Appreciate you.

They get really busy, and seem to have a coordinated system, like theme parks, to seat customers efficiently. Someone greets you immediately and gets your party size and has you stand by a number. We decided to try to eat lightly and shared a combo 12oz ribeye with ribs. Came with two sides -- we chose chili and mashed potatoes. And of course we had the warm bread with honey cinnamon butter, as well as the peanuts to start. I was definitely stuffed by the end! Loved the bread and the steak - would order again. Ribs were okay, sauce on it was a bit sweet for my liking. Sides were okay too. Service was awesome. Ethan was our server and took note of it being our first time.
