No time to read: Save your money--too expensive for what you get. I visited La Champa Latin Grill on a Saturday around 2:30 PM. While the establishment has a decent setup--plenty of seating (about 22 tables for four and 6 larger booths), a full bar, and three large TVs--the experience simply didn't justify the price tag. For three people, ordering one combination platter, an asada appetizer, and three drinks, the total came to $100.00. The Service & Atmosphere The service started strong. We were greeted and seated immediately (only 3 tables were occupied). Drinks arrived within 2 minutes, and the complimentary chips with salsa and cotija cheese arrived within 5 minutes. However, things slowed down significantly from there. Our main courses didn't arrive until 30 minutes after the appetizers. The waitress mentioned they were short a cook, which is understandable, but it definitely impacted the flow of the meal. One major vibe killer: the lighting. The restaurant was so dark I could barely see what I was eating. The Food While the portions were a good size, the flavor was a mediocre 5/10 overall. Asada Appetizer ($26): This was the dish served with cucumbers. For $26, the quality of the meat was disappointing--it wasn't a premium cut and lacked the "wow" factor of something like a Mexican molcajete. Plus, the cucumbers served with it were old and soft. Asado con Tajadas: The tajadas (fried green bananas) were good and the meat was seasoned well, but the quality control was poor. I had to spit out wads of fat three different times. Most concerningly, my wife found a toothpick hidden inside the cabbage and sauce. This is a major safety hazard. Combination Platter: The pupusas were smaller than what you'd find at other local spots. The loroco pupusa was missing cheese, and the revuelta lacked flavor. The tacos included in the platter were very bland. Verdict Between the high prices, the average flavors, and finding a toothpick in our food, I can't recommend this spot. There are much better Latin grills in the area where your $100 will go a lot further.

Delicious hole in the wall Honduran restaurant in San Marcos. We came here specifically for the pupusas and we were not disappointed. We had the jalepeno and cheese, zucchini and cheese, and pork, bean and cheese. The cheese (quesillo) was melt and delicious. I easily could have just eaten cheese pupusas but was happy to try several. They are made to order and therefore take time - so expect to wait.

    Shrimp cocktail

I was waited on by Sara. She was super friendly. The restaurant is truly authentic with excellent food. I had the whole tilapia which again was delicious along with the shrimp cocktail. I'll be back again!

If you're craving authentic Honduran food, this spot is a gem! Every dish is bursting with depth of flavor--seasoned to perfection and clearly made with care. The portions are absolutely huge (come hungry or be ready to take leftovers home), and everything tastes super fresh, like it was just cooked in someone's kitchen rather than mass-produced. You can really taste the love in the food here. The ingredients are bright, vibrant, and full of life, and the balance of flavors shows real skill. It's the kind of meal that leaves you full, satisfied, and already planning your next visit. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and some of the best Honduran cooking I've ever had. Highly recommend!

You order at the Bar counter for your Brew & for the tacos. The food is made at their permanent fixture food truck outside. The tacos are amazing and generously portioned. The Birria was my favorite! Carne asada was good too. The staffers are nice and ready to serve. There is high communal and individual table top seating inside and sports playing on the TV. Picnic Bench tables out on the front patio are & close to the food truck. It's pretty busy but worth the little wait for your tacos to be done. So sip sip while you wait for the buzzer to go off! The workers there were super friendly and chill and when asking about their in house beers they were not hesitant to see what you like and give you a beverage to the best of your liking! The lighting inside is just right for day or night as it allows natural lighting in during the day with the garage door style windows and when it's night time the interior lights are not over powering to brighten up the place! If you all have not tried the "local motion" i HIGHLY recommend it if you like a great IPA!
