The store is a little poorly laid out, but I think that's a common feature of a lot of Walmart locations. The two things that really bring this location down for me are: the online order pickup, and the parking lot. The online order pickup is located in a odd part of the store, it's not at the customer service counter, and even for just one item you still have to go in and there's not really a clear space to stand or clear marking of where the area is. The second thing that brings this location down is the parking lot. The parking lot is absolutely a mess. It doesn't help that it's coming off of State highway 95, but it's difficult to get into, it's difficult to navigate once you're inside, and it's difficult to find a good place to park. I guess I lied, there are three things that bring this place down. The third thing is that it's far away from Coeur d'Alene and the freeway.

I can't disrupt that.. I wiped the sweat beads off my forehead and came to terms with it.. I must order Seo Young his Cinnamon Rolls. I search it up for him, I place those in my imaginary cart. Just hearing the word "Walmart Cart" sent a tickle down my spine. I have scoliosis so it wasn't much down my spine. All I ordered was two boxes of these Cinnamon Rolls Seo said are "beautiful". I place the order.. as I find Seo Young. I told him that it would be here in an hour. That hour I was full of stress, each 10 minutes i'd cry. But then I would remember that i'm doing it for Seo. Do it for Seo I kept repeating. My niece Takashima took the place of my brother Jaquavious and interlocked pinkies with me. I was filled with relief.. til I heard two knocks. I opened my door and the person who delivered it was gone. Gone in seconds..? Was this real? Am I imagining this? I could hear Seo Young's footsteps, they were full of excitement. I must grab this bag full of Cinnamon Rolls. I retrieve them, as I sprint inside. I felt like I was being watched by Walmart. Constantly. Seo immediately grabs his Cinnamon Rolls as I stop him. "Seo NO!!" He drops the box, it didn't make much difference as the box already had many damages to it. I put on some nitrile gloves, as I picked the box up. I inspected it, I thought it was safe. Til I remembered, we must always check dates. I read the date on the box as I nearly fainted. If Seo ate these he could've died. My sweet little buddy Seo Young, dead by WONDER Cinnamon Rolls from Walmart?! I gasped, I took a picture as quick as I could. I ended up having to sit Taka and Seo down, warning them about the dangers of Walmart and what can happen if you order or even dare go there. Safe to say me and my niece and little friend will NOT be approaching this store nor the online shopping option ever again. Anyway, we drove up the side of the mountain to the cabin, dirt road that took 10 mins from the paved road to get to lol...super windy road too. So we dropped out shit off and drove back down so I could get to Wallace. Wallace is only like 8 miles from Kellogg. As soon as you get off the freeway, loop around, first thing you see...Harvest Foods. It was literally the first place we went to when we got up there. I mentioned in my Yokes review that you get the cheaper prices there because of the fact that it's a chain and they can afford it. Anyway, Harvest Foods is definitely a little more pricey, but for convenience sakes, it's not bad. Also, if you're visiting, chances are you won't care about the prices. I know it didn't bother me all that much and I'm a super cheap m'fer lol. I walk in and immediately loved that it was old school. Reminded me of "Bells" a tiny grocery store in Geneva, NY that closed years and years ago. Any place that takes me back to when I was a kid, is incredible for me. I live for nostalgia. Means so much to me. This place was that. It's conveniently located and if you live in Wallace, no matter where really, you can walk here. Yeah because it's convenient, but Wallace is super tiny. 700 and some change people live there. It's literally calling me!! The cashier was so nice. Another one who immediately engaged Frankie boy. And again, if they do that before saying anything else, it makes me smile. The dogs love it and it makes me so happy to see them happy because of all dogs do for us. She asked me a few questions about him. I was like "ok he's in here?" She was like "even if we didn't allow dogs, would never say no to that little face. He's so adorable" Again, I love people like her. Then told me she had an older, little one at home. She was great. Not too much to say. This place was great in every sense of the word, even if the prices were higher. I went to Yokes that last night because 1) I just discovered it by accident and 2) it was not far from our cabin at all lol. Had I never found Yokes, I would have gone to Harvest Foods more than I did. Harvest Foods has everything you need. I'm sure they hate that the Walmart was built up there. Smaller, independent stores like this always suffer when that giant comes stomping in. However tho, if you live right ok Wallace, Harvest is definitely more convenient than Walmart ESPECIALLY during the cold months. This location is very large. Even compared to other Fred Meyers. Some things to know (coincidentally why it's a four star review instead of five): First, the parking lot is awkward to get in and out of. It's shared. It's hard to find a spot. Second, it's expensive. Classy Walmart doesn't come cheap. But definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for a one stop shop.

People hang out in front on chairs and chit-chat with passersby and everyone seems to pretty much know each other. Our dubious claim to fame was cleaning them out of their individual bags of Idaho Spuds candy (chocolate and coconut-covered marshmallows), so the cashiers recognized us from that for the rest of our stay. The clerk was friendly and engaging, which is awesome since I'll now be a regular. Being on the reservation, it was pretty cool to find out groceries aren't taxed.

The main reason I'm not a fan of grocery stores is how poorly laid out they are (intentionally) and how hard it is to find anything (again, intentionally). Well, WinCo falls into that category for me. It might the most poorly laid out grocery store I know. Another thing I don't like is that they only accept cash or debit cards. Annoying you can't pay with a credit card. Normally this would be a 2-3 star review, so why four stars? Well, first it's super inexpensive. They have great prices here. Second, they have a bulk food section which is great.
