I don't like grocery stores as a rule. I also am not a fan of WinCo. The main reason I'm not a fan of grocery stores is how poorly laid out they are (intentionally) and how hard it is to find anything (again, intentionally). Well, WinCo falls into that category for me. It might the most poorly laid out grocery store I know. Another thing I don't like is that they only accept cash or debit cards. Annoying you can't pay with a credit card. Normally this would be a 2-3 star review, so why four stars? Well, first it's super inexpensive. They have great prices here. SERVICE!!! Went to self check out no other customers in line. Attendant had to come to my machine because celery would not register in bagging area which was fine. While attendant was there asked her to scan a times 12 because I was getting a case of Ice drink and she said you have to scan each individual bottle. Mind you she was doing NOTHING ELSE AT THE TIME ! No one was in line! NO COMMON CURTESY. I guess I could of waited in the long line for cashier but that didn't make sense as I had celery and a case of Ice drink only! Shame on you!! read more

Went to self check out with 19 items. The register errors out 16 items and the fast lane clerk states only 15 items allowed and suspends my transaction. Then expects me to go to a register with 10 customers deep. I asked her to let me pay in two transactions. "Too late I already suspended your ticket" I almost walked out but another employee took me right away at another register. Will not shop there again. read more

Day before Thanksgiving and place was crazy. I asked gal in bakery if they had a random item that my sick Mom had ask me to get her. Bakery girl told me what rack it might be on. I looked and couldn't find it, so I continued to browse, thinking it might be somewhere else. She noticed I didn't find it. Next thing I knew there she was with 2 pkg of the bread from the freezer. The CDA Winco has been my go to store for the last 4 years. Great sales on meats. Produce is awesome (Byrd is always there to show me where things are at if I can't find them). The deli people help me out when I just want something quick for dinner. The bakery always has a great aroma. I go early in the morning and no one is there so shopping is quick and hassle free. Sure there are times where things are hectic but the checkout staff handles things in stride. Love this store and all it's staff. Good people. Great selection. And I am there twice a week sometimes. I've been in the store several times now and have enjoyed it up until today. Today was filled with filthy gross people most of them had showered in over a week you could tell, and the heat in that store was so damn high I'm surprised all the fruit and vegetables weren't wilting it actually made me sick it was so hot in there. Customer service was awful employees standing in the way while you're trying to get groceries and then acting put off because you were trying to get what they were fixing. Women's bathroom being cleaned and the woman cleaning it making at least six women stand outside the bathroom for 20 minutes. Is WinCo shutting down? I just wonder. The lowdown.... WinCo has a decently large selection of produce that contains a variety of mushrooms, dried peppers, cheap fresh ginger, along with a small section of organic vegetables and fruit. There's also tofu, meatless meats, rice and spring roll paper in the produce section. Their frozen section contains the usual items, while their beer selection has some surprises. If purchasing beer, make sure to check the date. My favorite section in the store, is their bulk section. The bulk section has several flours (many from Bob's Red Mill), sugars, dried fruits, trail mixes, candy, cereal, nutritional yeast, and tons of several spices! If you're wondering if they have products in bulk that are organic, then yes. To quickly find those, look for a blue tag as the label. The more you know (insert jingle here).... You will have to bag your own groceries, so prepare for that. It can get busy here, so to avoid that, go early in the morning or late in the evening. read more

Wasn't a fan of the store. Everything was just placed in weird locations... put your track shoes on in this store. The associates appeared indifferent, no eye contact or greeting. I would love to give this great store 5 stars because I love to do my grocery shopping here. The glitch is the lack of cashiers at the check out line. There are several check out lanes but they seem to have difficulty with employment and that leads the customers to long wait lines. What I really like about this store are the employees that are working there in the many jobs they have. All of the employees are friendly go and helpful and they do a great job. I especially enjoy the variety of produce! and the prices too, I try the great variety because it's affordable. Along with the all the other departments- it's just a really great store. read more

We were there on Saturday the 23rd of September in the evening around 7. Normally when we go about once a month it's a good experience, well not this time. The dairy section was wiped out so was the sugar and flour and baking isle. We understand that you can get busy sometimes and this could be, but this time it was totally out of hand. We waited for forty five minutes to get checked out. We even considered leaving at one point but we had a cart full and frankly were worn out. It's a WinCo. Either you're down with it, or you're not. We were introduced a couple of years back when we traveled to Boise. A local real estate agent made the suggestion. He laughingly said he was LDS with a bunch of kids, so WinCo was almost a necessity for him. We laughed and tried it out and then wished we had one where we live in Southern California. Well, there are a few back home, but none close. So knowing we needed some provisions as we traveled this trip, I was pleased to find one in CdA. It's clean, seems to be in a good part of town, and is open 24 hours. Everything we needed we found. And the prices were great, as usual. They do not take credit cards, but do take debit cards, which was fine for us. They probably take local checks, too. One thing I like - you can buy smaller quantities of items. This isn't Costco where every item is supersized. So for RV travel, we can buy lots of things but in sizes and quantities that work for us on the road. Lastly, WinCo is employee-owned. I want to support these types of businesses, and I'm sure you do, too. Plus they always carry local brews for my husband. read more

Standard WinCo. The store is clean and really open. Everything is well organized and the shopping flows so you hit everything important and can side step for any additional aisles you may need along the way. The prices are awesome...especially considering the ​cost of living in the city. Winco also has its own brand...this lowers costs even more. The ​produce and meat selections are awesome and always fresh (this is the biggest reason we make the trip...the saving in these departments alone really buffers our budget). They also have a great variety of everything and a well rounded bulk section. I find all the random ingredients I need to make any of the ethnic dishes I prepare (be it specific vegetables or spices or cuts of meat). So I have mixed feelings on this place. They have great prices and the winco brand is usually better than the name brand (don't believe me just try the pickles). But on the other hand the produce is gross and usually rotten.. and the meat has been sour smelling the last two times I bought meat there. I now buy my meat at Albertsons or another store that doesn't sell foul smelling meat like it's already rotting. When my wife and I entered the store on 09/01/19, in mid afternoon, a woman was yelling loudly just inside the entryway. A man was trying to restrain her to take her into a private room. She put up quite a bit if resistance, and he eventually fought her until she fell on the floor. The man then proceeded to handcuff her, and another man helped him to wrestle her into a room. She continued to scream and swear audibly inside the room. My wife had called the police during the struggle, but they never arrived while we were present. One employee we asked said to get away and it was none of our business. My wife asked it the man restraining the woman was a policeman. We were told that it was private property and they could do anything they wanted by another employee. We don't know what had set off the conflict, but even if the woman was stealing, it seemed rather over the top. read more

They have their own brand of many food items such as bread, chips, deli and canned vegetables or packaged food like mac n cheese as well as paper products which I find to be as good as any name brand at a cheaper price. knocked off a star because they don't carry my brand of denture adhesive in their limited health and beauty section. read more

One great thing about WinCo is the very consistent layout - if you know where the tea bags are in the Spokane Valley WinCo, you also know where they are in the Coeur d'Alene one. WinCo specializes in fast-movers - a yogurt company might make 40 flavors, but WinCo won't carry all 40, just the ones that sell quickly. This has good and bad points; because the product they have turns over quickly you're not likely to find outdated product, but if you really, really MUST have kumquat-persimmon yogurt you really, really MUST go to a store that sells the weird ones. There's a lot to like about WinCo: it has great prices, the store is easy to get to for out-of-towners because it's right off the Interstate, parking is easy and plentiful, you can fill your whole shopping list at this one store, and there are three restaurants in the complex so you don't have to shop hungry. read more

Worst customer service ever! Item rang up wrong and associate doesn't ask me anything just assumes where I pulled the item from comes back tells me I'm wrong. I had her void the item paid for the rest of my groceries. I went back to where I pulled the item from and took a picture of the price. Nicole then got flippant with me turned me over to another person who wasn't wearing a name tag who couldn't seem to give me the time of day and then when I gave up I walked away and he says no need to get confrontational. I turned and told him I'm sorry I'm irritated with your poor customer service and he walked away. I went back to self check out and Nicole saw me coming and walked away. I left the item on her check out stand. I think the CDA winco needs to learn customer service skills especially Nicole and the gentleman that would rather listen to his earbud then help a customer. read more

Apparently it's a new joint in CDA and has the new joint feel. I live in Boise so I'm familiar with other Winco locations and know what to expect. I like this location; it's nice and compact. I don't know where things are but that will come with time. This Winco has a few things different than the one in Boise. Specifically, this Winco has pizza pretzels that I can't find in Boise and I love them!!! I'll visit this Winco whenever I'm in the CDA area for sure!!!! read more
