In my last reviews two years ago, I said this was our 2nd favorite Albertson's/Safeway store in town. Congratulations are in order since this store's moved into the #1 spot. Strong store management shows in almost every detail. That's impressive since many decisions made by the corporate owner in Idaho and ITS owner, a private equity company in NYC (that's been unsuccessfully trying to unload the supermarket chain for years) seems to do their best to turn away customers for reasons I can only surmise, The rigid control they maintain on the items they choose to stock in the store results in us having to go to another chain supermarket in town that stocks a wider variety of goods. All that being said, this store offers a wider selection of goods than either of the two Safeway stores in town (although each one of those sells a few products this Albertson's doesn't). And from our experience with cashiers (including a store manager who regularly mans a checkout line) and courtesy clerks/baggers, the employees here are extremely friendly and they work fast. You can have a fun conversation with a checker and they won't slow down or stop working while they chat. The store's large, brightly lit and attractive. There frequently seems to be changes in shelves design and moving products around to different locations but it's also interesting to see where store management is going with it. The produce here is uniformly better than the other two stores and its meat and bakery offering in match or in some ways surpass the other two as well. However, WA state is suing Albertson's, alleging that from 2019-2024 it's BOGO deals are deceptive by the chain overcharging on those items leading up to the BOGO sales. So, now we're back at the corporate owners doing what they can to mess with customers. That makes me wish Cerebrus would unload the chain to a decent owner who would clean house with the Idaho corporate management. read more

I had to come to this Albertsons to do a DoorDash today, and the app was mislabeled and it caused quite a few issues. The checker, Yasmin, who I interacted with throughout my time there was extremely friendly, very understanding and very patient as I spent an inordinate amount of time getting my issue solved. Disappointed in the store changes recently that also appear to have raised costs to consumers by about 20% this year. Having to buy staples at Bi Mart now. Will probably not shop here much anymore. So disappointed. read more

I'm not sure why people write this so badly. It's actually a very nice Albertsons. Yes, the interior is getting kind of dated however, though everything is fairly well laid out and easy to find. They've had a big changeover of staff, but I'm happy to see that Shelley is still working the front of the manager which was wonderful, and she always remembers me by name. They carry a nice variety of foods and a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, which is one of the main reasons why I go there. The only thing that I find quite wrong is it every time I go summon Floyd parks their orange Chevy Camaro with a huge black spoiler on the back of it in the pick up area for groceries. I don't think that's appropriate and I really think that management should address it with this person. read more

This Albertsons seems a little small, but it's a great little neighborhood grocery store. It's clean. There's a little clearance section in the back and the people at the self check out are always really nice. There is a Starbucks located in this Albertsons and the bathrooms are upfront near the right hand entrance. read more

Always clean atmosphere! Everyone that works here are always friendly and if you can't find something they will always assist ! The fried chicken is amazing ! If you have to feed your family a quick dinner definitely stop by . You can get sides as well and be on your way . Lines are never long since they have self checkout and plenty of cashiers open . I always enjoy coming here . Also they have our favorite milk here in glass bottles . So hard to find ! read more

This is for the deli. I guess that after I got guilt tripped & shamed by a relative I wasn't in the mood for a cranky person. And all I asked for was a measly 1/4 pound of a certain cole slaw when the customer ahead of me orders practically a ton of chicken , salad, and everything in between, Shoot my order was easy. The woman snapped at me when I pointed & said which Cole slaw I wanted ( wasn't listened to that's okay, and I was ignored). Then she called me sir? Well, I look nothing like a man, my voice is a woman I am a female, and I've come to the deli before. I won't be back. All in all not a great way to round off the day. read more

This store is close to my house, but that is the only reason I end up there, which is not often. I was excited when I moved to Port Orchard to see an Albertsons so close to my house. I've always enjoyed shopping at Albertsons. That feeling quickly change after only a few visits. 1. Prices are far higher than other area stores 2. No self check out - they offered it, but then took it away. 3. Even during very busy times, they only have two check out lanes open. 4. Unfriendly/inappropriate cashiers. I've been at the check out more than once where I felt very uncomfortable with the story the cashier was telling a fellow employee. There are better places to shop, even if you have to drive a little way. read more

The store (#475) is quaint with friendly responsive staff. It has a small town country look and feel. The baker makes excellent custom cakes, the florist makes beautiful custom arrangements and the team throughout the store is friendly and helpful. We frequent here. I wouldn't recommend buying berries here as they go bad in a day or two. And the buy1get1 steaks are not very good. We've bought a couple that were so fatty we didn't even eat them. If you stay away from those two items you should be good. The staff is always friendly, but sometimes I feel like they are undermanned and/or overwhelmed. I don't think it would hurt to add another cashier. read more

I love Albertson's. It's close to my house and when I'm not feeling like stopping in Saar's, I'll go here. I didn't give it five stars because I am not a fan of their bakery items and sometimes they have high prices. I have to buy things on sale there or not at all. The folks that work there, however, are five star. Very nice people! I think the new Starbucks inside is placed in an odd/annoying spot, but otherwise, it's my go-to sale store. read more

This was fine, the whole Port Angeles- Bremerton-Gig Harbor area is weird to me so I have no frame of reference compared to others, however this was very clean. It had the cleanest grocery store bathroom I have ever seen. I bet you know why I stopped XD Everybody was polite even when we went in five minutes before closing they didn't try to hustle us out. If I ever come this way again and need groceries- I'm stopping here. read more

only reason i shop there is convenience..its like 2 minutes from my house..never cared for there food and meat selection and was thinking about going to another store..on 3 -31-2021 i decided to shop after dropping my wife at work. it was 5;30am and i got a few items in my cart when an employee stoped me and said they were closed due to software change and i said why did the door open? 5 min later on my way out doors were closed..they had to use there fingers to open it.I will never go to albertsons again.....ever!!!!! read more

Until proven otherwise this store overall is doing fairly well, Its better than some that I have seen or had experiences with and I will give credit were credit is due. I was treated fairly well and this store I will say I was impressed with by how they act, customer service, and how smoothly everything was handled in their store. Kudos.. read more

While I had a stay at a transitional home located on Port Orchard I frequented this Albertsons. I liked shopping there. My favorite yes I have a favorite was the Manager, she wears blue rimmed glasses & is the warmest person I've ever met. She makes my day. I now live in Bremerton but I still want to come in this particular store from time to time. Hope she reads this. read more

There are a lot better grocery stores, a lot better Albertson's, then this one. But, more important than that is location. And, this location... for me, is already too far from the house. It's the reality of semi-rural living. So, I have a love-hate relationship with this store. Staring with the bad... Employee Attitudes. Some, not all, don't take their jobs seriously. Point out to the employee in produce that they have mold on their strawberries, he goes and takes a look, and then does nothing! Go back the next day, and their even worse! Or, a couple of times I took a full basket of expired goods to the cashier to show them how much product is on the shelves they are trying to sell that are no good. Does it get better next trip, or the trip after that, or the several trips later... Nope! This is a store that you MUST check the expiration date yourself on EVERYTHING you put in the cart. Then there was the reward card. This thing had it's perks. I could often get a $1.50 off each gallon of gas through this card. But, as of late 2013, they took away this benefit. And, now, there is no reason for the card at all. With the discounts gone for food (e.g. no $5.00 off coupons for volume spending, no 10% off your next purchase, and no gas discounts), it's an expensive store. Keeping things in stock is sometimes a challenge for this store. It's a hit and miss thing. Though, as compared to other stores in the area, it's more hit than miss. Yeah, I know... doesn't say much for the other stores. I find this store much better than the SAARS across the street (that one takes me back to the 70's), and it's better than the QFC up the hill (I've been in QFC's much better too). But, these are poor comparisons. The true competitor for this store is the Safeway, Fred Meyer, Wal*Mart, and other Albertson's in Port Orchard. And, in comparison to those, this Albertson's is on Par. In my opinion, a bit worse than the other Albertson's, about even with Safeway, and a bit better than Fred Meyer and Wal*Mart. Though, if Fred Meyer just had more selection, I may change my mind. Now the good: The variety of produce is great (though, watch expiration on prepackaged items like lettuce); and the deli folks are always helpful and have lots of good treats. And, the Rotissarie Chicken they make is cheap and tasty. The Bakery is also good, and their special orders for your personal "party" is always done right. I hate their cookies, cause they are so good and so bad for my diet. I'm usually able to get the cuts of meat I want, and if I don't see something, the butcher might be able to help. Though, I wish they did their pre-made hamburger patties as 1/4 pounds rather than nearly a half pound. It doesn't help me if I have to remake the patties when I get home. Bathrooms are always clean. Isles, except near closing time are kept clear. It's open until Midnight, which is long after most of the town goes to sleep. The self-checkout works well (though I like Fred-Meyer's better as it allows you to bag more stuff while keeping it on that weight shelf thing). The Red-Box inside is nice, especially since they have two (and you don't have to stand out in the elements to do your movie selections). The layout of the store is decent, as things are stocked where you would think to find them. Bottom line: If you live in the area, this Grocery Store is acceptable. It's not fantastic. It's not even a fun store. But, it gets the job done with sufficient variety and stock to meet most American's needs. Not so sure it's great if you're from India. read more

My husband ordered me a little birthday cake from the Olney Albertson's Bakery in Port Orchard. My very favorite cake in the entire world is a white cake with chocolate fudge frosting. He knows this, and was careful to specify a white cake with chocolate fudge frosting. When he picked it up, he asked if it was white cake - and was assured by the bakery person that it WAS white cake. He brought it home and it was beautiful. I eagerly cut into it and.....wait.....what........? It was chocolate. Not a favorite of mine and it made me very sad that it wasn't what I wanted - nor what he ordered. He volunteered to take it back to the store - but I could tell it would make him feel that much more guilty if I told him to take it back. Apparently what is ordered and what is asked again when the customer picks the cake up means nothing to the bakery staff. If they're going to provide whatever they feel like providing, why pretend that a cake can be special ordered? read more

I went in this morning to do some small shopping after dropping my child off for her first day of school....I was looking at meats trying to decide what to purchase...I walked over to the "butcher shop" to look at the refrigerated meats and a female employee dressed in black, i assume is one of the butchers came out and rudely say, "can I help you" and looked at me as if I was unable to purchase anything or trying to rob someone...I said "no, just trying to decide.." Another butcher comes out and politely asks if I needed help, to which I replied "no". That female butcher needs to take a lesson in manners if she is to provide customer service. I purchased some items ($55 on a debit card, mind you) and left. I will not be returning to this store as there are many other grocery stores to choose from...Apparently my money is not good enough for this store..... read more

Today we received the weekly grocery ads and I can not believe how totally "EXPENSIVE" Albertson's has gotten since they remodeled their local stores. My family shopped at the Mile Hill store for over 5 years but now we shop at Fred Meyer's or Saars. There was nothing in today's Albertson's food ad that I couldn't find cheaper at regular Safeway or Fred Meyer's prices. If you want to save on your grocery bills than shop anywhere else than at Albertson's. They are quite a rip off. read more

I just went to Albertson's to buy a salad for my lunch and ended up buying a few other things as well. Hey, it happens. So I'm walking by the meat counter and ended up buying a couple of T-Bone steaks from the friendly meat lady. That's was the nice part, because it was downhill from there. I grabbed a few things for dinner and was headed up to the check out and an employee was sitting on the floor eating a bag of chips with headphones one. I had to ask her to move her cankles so I could pass and sure enough, she had on an apron and a blue Albertson's shirt. She mumbled something but I couldn't make it out because of the 20 chips she just crammed in her mouth. As I got by her another employee yelled from the other end of the Isle, "Bitch you betta not be eatin all my chips". I didn't know what to think and continued to the check out. The check out lady asked me if I had a rewards card - I hate these damn things and think they should be outlawed. I don't like having to have a card to get the prices as marked or better. Just sell me the crap I want at the price you have listed - end of rant - So, I don't have a rewards card, I refuse. The check out lady tells me, well if you don't have it, I can't give you a discount. I asked her to just ring it up and that I needed to get back to work. She told me that I would save $20.00 if I had their rewards card. I told her about their employee yelling inappropriate comments to an employee sitting on the ground stuffing her face with Tostitos in one of their isles and she told me, they must be on break. That was it. They're on break? Really? I'm on my lunch break and I need to get back to work. So, I ended up not saving $20.00 because I don't have the proverbial rewards card. I went back to work and started to eat my salad and the lettuce looked like it was old. I picked out what I could but ended up throwing most of it out. I hope those T-Bones are worth what I went through to get a salad for my lunch. I would like to say I will never go hear again, but I probably will. You may end up reading about it later. read more
