Improve your deli. Showed up to buy some lunch midafternoon, and not only was basically everything out but the stuff that was there was burnt and dry as hell. When I asked the lady behind the counter about it, she said "oh I'm just trying to get out of here." Your deli should A, never be out unless unforeseen circumstances and B, there REALLY shouldn't be burnt dried out food at any hour in a store that charges such high prices compared against its competitors. Clerk at customer service was awesome (seriously doing her level best with much more poise than I would have been able to muster) but having only one person the day after Christmas at noon (when it's pretty self evident that people would be trying to do returns on their lunch break) was a poor logistical staffing decision. Usually pretty good. Staff is helpful. Recently had problems with the meat quality. Purchased a chuck roast on a buy-one-get-one-free sale a few months ago and froze it for later. Cook two of them within the last couple of weeks in my crockpot, as I always do. Tough, full of sinew, gristle, and pieces that had so much strange fiber through them that half of the roast on both of them was thrown out. My daughter bought some chicken hind quarters a few days ago, and we had the same problem with really tough fibrous tissue throughout the meat. It was gross. I'm 72 years old, and I haven't had this happen as often as I have lately. (Other stores too). What is going on? I have been buying and cooking chuck roast and chicken for decades, and I have never seen this before. read more

We don't shop at this store often, but we were quite impressed during a recent visit - specifically aimed at purchasing items for a birthday celebration. The person working in the floral department was engaging and incredibly helpful, and the person working in the bakery was also quite accommodating. Best of all, everyone at our small celebration loved the chocolate truffle cake we purchased. It was honestly the best grocery store cake we've ever eaten, and we will almost certainly return to the Fred Meyer bakery soon. To get any discounts you need to enter your phone number, gather paper coupons, scan other coupons etc etc etc. I feel ripped off all the time, especially standing in line today for over 1/2 hour as 2 people laboriously sorted all of their various coupons and somehow the cashier had to hand enter 30 coupons. How about this idea, charge everyone the same fair price?!?! Not worth the high prices and messed up service. I'll split my grocery business between Winco for produce and non perishables, and Town and Country for meat and fish. read more

Our first time at Fred Meyers! We don't have one in Hawaii. After coming from an event in heels, that was not the greatest idea. The store is huge and my feet became raw. And being that we were new, we kept walking back and forth finding all the ingredients we needed. There were a lot of workers on the floor stocking shelves and we had asked a few to help us locate some items. All those we encountered were helpful and friendly. They even had home furniture too! Aside from food, I picked up some items I forgot to pack like a hair brush and feminine products. I would definitely shop here again on our next trip. read more

Never use this pharmacy for any critical or needed meds. I have seen them be out of stock for a week or more on critical medications with no apparent effort to get a prescription to the patient. ..if I could rate this location with NO STARS, I would.. solely due to the fact that their "asset protection" or "loss prevention" are THE WORST.. on quite a few occasions, they have made my shopping experience BEYOND uncomfortable.. I stopped using reusable shopping bags due to feeling profiled.. I literally feel like I have to hold a fat wad of cash up to my ear like a phone just to show them I'm about to drop more than they make in 3 months to get them to fuck off & actually protect the stores assets instead of following me. I've started passive aggressively filling carts up til they overflow to then go sit at Starbucks with a coffee & my overflowing cart just to watch poorly trained "ASSET PROTECTION SECURITY SPECIALISTS" start hovering around pretending to shop.. I noticed a courtesy clerk wearing a day collar about two days ago and that really surprised me. It wasn't even subtle, it was really obviously a piece of BDSM gear... at the Fred Meyers. I'm glad I did self checkout because I wouldn't want someone actively in bondage helping me at the grocery store, I have trauma and didn't consent to be around anyones fetish when I just need groceries. That was pretty uncomfortable to see. Staff can be pretty nice, when I almost fainted in the store one lady was really kind about it. Often staff are more passive aggressive though. And all the beeping combined with music is insanely overestimulating, some of the carts set off the theft prevention things by the doors, so there's just constant alarms happening even when no one is stealing to the point where it gets panic inducing if I'm near the front of the store for a few minutes. read more

I am truly shocked on how much this place has changed over the years. It used to be a really nice place to go to shop by what you need. The staff is always pleasant so helpful I am not really sure what happened here but it is gone downhill. It is difficult to find staff to help you and when you do, they tend to be rather rude. I find the prices of their food are anywhere from a dollar to two dollars more than the other competitive stores in town. And you don't even want to get me started on parking there's no parking in this complex. It is difficult with all the restaurants and stores and everything there to find a parking spot especially when you're handicapped. I found the produce not to be fresh. There was a lot of very soft and mushy apples. I just stopped by shopping and walked out. I couldn't deal with it anymore. It was just sad to see what was a nice store. Become so run down. read more

I don't know if he didn't notice that I was there or not, but he made a few jokes that were horribly offensive all the while laughing about it. very unprofessional! there is a cashier named Emma who is always messing around and doesn't help and has terrible customer service and I won't return because of her and the red vest named Matt who is going with her. when they work together she ignores us customers and is following around doing random things to him. today I saw her at the self check out things (which don't even get me started on those) just grabbing the back of his vest and not letting him do his job when she was supposed to be in one of the cash registers. For years this was our go-to store. Great associates who walked you to the location of the product you were looking for. More friendly checkers than any other supermarket in town. Not to crowded, and it stocked almost whatever you'd want. The prices were around the same as outer supermarkets, maybe a bit higher but still acceptable. Those days are long gone. The store expansion some years ago has made the store far too crowded. The prices are the highest in town, and the sales aren't worth being deposited into the crush of humanity that is the store on the weekends. It's not as bad in the early mornings and later in the evening, but those times aren't always convenient to shop. But what I detest most about this store is the parking lot. During the holiday season it is gridlocked most of the day, and both Sedgwick and Bethel roads are gridlocked for at least a half-mile in all four directions. The store converted the disabled parking to way too many (and seldom-used) ClickList parking spaces. And the spaces? They've always been narrow, but now with the lesser number of general parking spaces I've been involved in more incidents of what I call parking lot rage. One knucklehead parked too close to me on my driver's side, and then was outraged when my car door had to bump against his so I could get out of my car. Last Sunday, I was already in the process of backing out of my parking space when another knucklehead blasted his horn because he refused to wait for me to completely pull out of the space. I was already in motion when he drove up to the side of my car and there was no reason for the driver to bully his way past me. So, the prices are the highest in town, and parking is a nightmare. I've sworn off shopping at that store unless it is something I need immediately and there are no alternatives in town. Safeway's Just For U is a far better loyalty program with much better deals, and the associates at Safeway are friendlier. The the grocery, produce and meat department personnel actually answer the phone, instead of the endless ringing I get when I call a department at FM, or am transferred by customer service. In addition, the parking spaces are larger, and the lot is less crowded. This isn't a plug for Safeway (or Albertson's); I'm just comparing the two operations. I don't buy food online so ClickList is of no value to me. The only positive FM has over SW is their fuel rewards program is better, always offering a minimum 3 cents per gallon discount. Fred Meyer, to me, is all about herding large groups of shoppers into the crowded parking lot and store, with no concern for their comfort, safety and shopping experience. There are better, less expensive, and more enjoyable places to grocery shop in town. read more

Been a customer since 2001 and usually have found items to be fair priced throughout the Bremerton store. Since Co-Vid it has become a nightmare with families shopping and taking over aisles. Customers cut you off, stop suddenly, push up right next to you... When I shop I treat it like I'm driving cart on the right, you know the drill; however people will cut right in front and then make a nasty remark to me. The holiday season was a nightmare, store was overfilled, way over the current policies for occupancy. I personally thank the many employees ( some I only know by their faces) who pleasantly greet me and interact on a more than weekly basis. Lastly prices are high and since the FM card changes I don't see much in the way of savings. read more

Terrible Covid regulations, don't come if you're compromised. I counted a whole family and 3 separate people not wearing masks, an older gentleman that got in by holding a napkin over his face, and an EMPLOYEE wearing their mask under their chin! My fiance put my engagement ring on layaway. He went to pick it up and pay with his debit card. The clerk screwed it up and ran it as cash. Now they are telling him they cant void it and he must go to the bank and bring back cash to pay for it. The jeweler in back step in and said to come back tomorrow and they would have it fixed. He went back today and was told he needed cash that they cant void it. So he told him he wanted his layaway amount back. They also refused to give him that back.....maybe we need a attorney? They can't keep his money and the ring. read more

long time customer, two things I am very unhappy about. First, the ladies bathroom is horible. All the money spent on the store nothing done in bathroom. It is really dirty. The wall of the stalls, the floors look like they have never been cleaned. there is always full garbage cans and paper all over floors. It does'nt seem like anybody is doing a very good job at keeping it up. Secondly the disability carts need new batteries they cannot even make it thru a regular shopping even if they are fully charged. My daughter is a amputee and is really having a hard time. This store has a little bit of everything (clothing, furniture, groceries). But their meat selection is really poor. I was looking for chicken breasts at the butcher counter, but there were only like 2 chicken breasts left, sitting in something that looked like pink blood juice. It looked gross. The regular meat section was practically out of chicken, other than the expensive organic ones. We ended up buying chicken at another store. The ground beef didn't have labels with weight or price. I bought some anyway. Then we wanted to buy some sliced salami from the deli, but we were practically alone, and i felt like i was Mr Bean trying to make hand signals for someone to come help us. No one did, so we bought it somewhere else. Sunday is their busiest day, and it doesn't make sense that they have only 1 person working there. read more

I was on my way out of town and stopped to pick up a couple of things at Fred Myers, Port Orchard and then get some gasoline. I had a million things on my mind and paid cash for fuel on pump 5. As I was driving over the bridge I looked down and noticed my gas gauge was low. I was baffled. After a couple of moments of puzzlement, I realized that I'd forgotten to pump the fuel. What a bone head. I did that one other time when I was in Idaho and the fuel station kindly gave me the fuel I'd paid for. And this was a minimart, not a customer service oriented store such that Fred Myers is (supposedly). I called Fred Myers and they sent me to the Home Center. I explained the above and he told me that they have thousands of people pumping fuel everyday and that it was my loss. I have no idea what having thousands of people pumping fuel everyday has to do with me and my problem, other than I guess Fred Myers has no problem making tons of money off it's customers and not helping a customer out when they make an understandable mistake. Not a big fan of Walmart, but have a nice life Fred Myers. read more

I wanted to stay out of the store like were supposed to do gave them a chance. First of all you don't put bread in with soda pop and second you don't put chemicals in with food. People how long does it take to pack food correctly. And on top of it when you order things on line at 10am and pick up at 4pm all of your order should be there. And don't even bother to call and make a complaint the manager swears you are yelling at her I haven't begun to yell yet. Have some common sense how you pack up items it doesn't take long and then you don't get complaints. Believe me I will be taking my business else where. read more

It's been years since I've been to a Fred Meyer since they don't have them on the east coast, but I was used to seeing them in Alaska during my residence on the other side of the country. Fred Meyer certainly isn't cheap. It's a high value Target, for those who have never visited. And it stays the same amount of busy as a Target does. It also has a grocery store side and a busy parking lot to match all that it offers. When United lost all of my belongings on 10/23/15 and I was staying in a remote camp for a leadership workshop retreat over the weekend with nothing to wear but flipflops, jeans, a light shirt, and a sweatshirt, a nice lady gave me a ride to Fred Meyer. I rushed over to the women's department since I had a short amount of time. It was easy to find a cute, mature looking sweater in the Junior's dept. I would shop in the women's or other ladies' departments, but honestly, the clothing seems made for 50 year olds. I'm in my 30's and slim so I'd rather stick with Juniors since it's more stylish, while also being professional. I found the one sweater, then wandered over to find some underwear and a sports bra. Their underwear was either super cheap or very expensive and either very colorful or boring. Finally got what I needed. Sports bras were too fancy and also expensive, but I finally found one that would do. Then I needed to find some shoes. I found an Associate, who ended up being a manager. I told her my situation -- United lost all my stuff, staying in a remote location with flipflops, professional leadership workshop, and needing to find items that were already missing from my current wardrobe. Perhaps some brown/tan flats would do? She helped me find a pair of brown shoes with just the right amount of wedge. Professional, but comfortable and easygoing; however, a little loose in the heel. No problem; she found heel inserts right away. I asked for help trying to find another shirt. Too much sheer. I ended up just settling with what I had, in hopes that my bag would arrive that day or the next... The manager then ended up following me to the register, where she discounted each item on my list. I could have cried because I was so grateful. Fred Meyer isn't cheap, I didn't have a shopping budget for this trip, and I was just grateful to have a Manager be so kind as to work so hard to look for other items with me and then discount my purchases that way. What a wonderful person and definitely made Fred Meyer seem a lot more "for the people" than before. read more

I've been a loyal Fred Meyer customer since I was still living at home. My loyalty continued at the Port Orchard location since I moved to the area 12 years ago. I've had years of exemplary customer service in all sections of the store. When my son was put on an Rx formula the grocery manager ordered the 26 quart bottles I needed every month. I only had to call him and my formula would be waiting for me within 48 hours. This went on for a year without ever having a single hiccup or miscommunication. I find it very astonishing, in an age where customer service is usually very lacking, that this custom order was never screwed up! There's a sweet blonde girl who works in the pharmacy. She is so very genuine and excels at her job. To call her kind is an understatement, she's always prepared to do her job 100%. This employee actually influenced my poor mood one day for the better! Then there are the checkers I really I've gotten to know: Wheeler you're always kind and funny, Jamie you're so nice and efficient. They are more, many more! Another example of the consistency of their excellent employees happened just this afternoon. I was in the produce section and one lady who was stocking onions noticed me with my 3 year old and baby. She let me know about the free fruit basket available for the kids! Then she showed me where it was. My son enjoyed a huge, juicy apple while we shopped. It kept him occupied and happy, making my shopping trip that much better. Thank you! Thank you, thank you! Then there's specifically the huge "naturals" section with the bulk organic pantry staples, natural/alternative/nontoxic cleaning and personal care, snacks, frozen foods, cosmetics...and on and on. The produce is consistent as is the fresh meat. I truly love this store and those who work their butts off to make me happy. Love the variety of bulk-bin items, and the prices. I love the dedicated Whole-Foods-ish isles, also. And my favorite part is being able to drive only 10 minutes for things I used to only be able to get at Central Market, like vegan mayo. Really good selection of hippie food, over all. The variety of items in the rest of the market make it easy for me to get whatever is on my list, and I rarely ever pass on something because of it's price. The produce department isn't the most varied one I've ever seen, but they have a really decent selection and aside from the packaged salads (which invariably seem a little old/icky when I pick them up) I have good experiences with anything in that department. I've needed help in the paint department once and got great service, and the time I needed to fax something and return something, I got great service. My only complaint is the deli/bakery. Twice I've gotten fried chicken to go, and been told by the family members eating it that it was way too dry - either over cooked, or spent waaaaay too long under the heat lamp. I find dryness to be a big problem with many of their baked goods, too. I bought 4 dozen red velvet and german chocolate cupcakes, and they were miserable to eat, they were so dry. So I'll stick to Safeway for baked treats if I don't have time to make them myself. Over all though, I get friendly checkers every time, no crazy long lines, no pressure to give all my personal info for sale prices, and serious one-stop shopping possibilities. We went here yesterday to find some jeans and sweats. and OH my gosh! this store is definitely a one stop shopping center! from gardening to groceries to clothing, to patio furniture to household furniture, one could buy everything you need for yourself and your house! We didn't really look around the store and only stayed in the clothing department. I would say one could spend long long hours in this store and get everything you needed. If I lived up in Washington, this is the store I'd go to all the time! read more

I shop here often. What I like about this store is the organic produce, health food selection, bakery, meat department, garden department are all nicely stocked. The folks who work there are eager to help me. I also like the selection of DVD movies (organized in alpabetical order unlike walmarts randomly shelved selections--- makes it easier to find what I want). My only gripes are that the clothing prices are often much higher than at other stores in the area, unless they are on sale. Bathrooms are always nice and clean also. read more

I love going here for the bulk food section. It's the best in the area, I have found. There are grains here that even 'health food stores' don't carry. Plus, the prices are SO GOOD!! If there is something they don't carry, ask an associate. I have special ordered and received great service. I like their grocery section. The location is easy to get to, the parking lot is huge, and the store is vast. It's always well lit, there's usually great sales going on, and the service is known as 'service with a smile'.
