Not easy to find Orange Juice made from Florida Oranges rather than from Brazil, Mexico, etc.

We went to picking blueberries in this April. We paid $6.50/lb. But We found out that at other firm was selling at $3.25/lb for picking on the same weekend. They charged us double! They are not nice. read more

This company re-sells product sold and packaged by Davidson's of Dundee. The product is overpriced, supermarket grade fruit and candy. Nothing special, nothing you can't go to any grocery store to buy. The marmalade is subpar. I can get BETTER in any grocery store. The coconut patties are Anastasia coconut patties, that can be purchased at BJ's, $9.99 for a bag of 16. The owner does not know how to deal with criticism and makes crazy delusional allegations when confronted with dissatisfaction. You can do better elsewhere, avoid this seller. read more

This is one of the few places that I don't think gets enough attention. They used to do wonderful things even exchange candy for fruit during Halloween season to help prevent any issues with razer blades or poisons in children's candy. Well, and for the healthy aspects too I'm sure. I love their fudge, their cute little shop and what I miss more than anything is their orange soft serve. Quite possibly the most delicious sweet I've ever tasted in my life. Give this place a visit if you're in the neighborhood, they'll even ship gifts for you of fresh citrus from the sunshine state:). read more

Stepping into this store reminds you a little bit of what it may've been like to be a tourist in Sarasota in 1960. The store used to be surrounded by vast orange groves, including across the street, but now it's sadly surrounded by neighborhoods where all the houses look the same. You can buy fresh citrus, tacky kitchy gator souvenirs, and of course coconut patties. If you'd like to ship a crate of oranges and grapefruit to a loved one and remind them of how much sunnier it is in Sarasota than where these oranges are being shipped to, they're able to do that as well. You can sample fresh juice from the machines as well. One thing I'd make sure not to miss is the soft-serve. The vanilla is really great and I'm told it's even better when swirled with the orange. read more

I really liked the oranges that I bought but the service was so weird. Every time I asked a reasonable question I got "Uhmmm I don't know" or a smile-less short and dry answer. It was as if my simple questions were rocket science or something. Very strange and I'd say unfriendly. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's a puzzler. We stopped by in March 2016 and they had only 2-3 varieties of others and a few bags left of each. Staff was not that helpful, it seemed they were trying to close. Were told to come back Nov-Jan for a better selection. We did pick out one bag to take home- nearly $20 which was pricey compared to others with fresh oranges in the area. It is close to our home so today we stopped in again, a Saturday in Dec 2017 around 11am. We were optimistic and looking forward to a good experience with visiting family. Two staff were there and ignored us. Only one other customer in the store. No smiles or greeting. One stared at us with arms folded and then turned away. Other was at register staring off. The back room we were in last year with the large bags of oranges was closed off. When we asked she said that room was closed. Sample tray in the front room area was full of 4 varieties and we picked out one variety sweet and juicy. Only about 8 oranges of that variety were in the bin with sign of pricing - 8.99 by the half peck. I asked the cashier if there were more and she no so we put the 8 oranges in the paper bag which was only half full. She didn't weigh it- just charged us $8.99. I guess I was sort of shocked, in hind sight I could have just said no thank you and walked out. Over $1 per orange!! Got home and cut them open to enjoy. Dry and fibrous, not anything like the juicy and sweet samples. Will not go back. Others in Sarasota and Venice are friendlier and happier places to visit. read more

Unbelievable poor service!! Order for a Christmas delivery was never received. Every person in this company seems to be unable to comprehend and deal with a service issue. It is as if you are speaking to a 95 year old VA employee. You have to repeat addresses, phone numbers, the problem, etc. My order was resent, again not received. Finally, now exactly 3 months to the day I called to cancel the order and get my money back. Initially the clerk said they would resend my Christmas gift but would not refund the money. This is quite obviously a grossly mismanaged operation. read more

This review is regarding the delivery and customer service, not the quality of the fruit. In store, when you ask basic questions about how gift packages work (e.g. how many pieces of fruit come in a package? how do they compare to other fruit) you get "Um, I don't know.." And, when it comes to delivery -- I ordered a gift for my boss and they promised shipping on Jan 3. I understand that there was a freeze and this impacted the crop. No problem, I can't blame Albritton for that. But can't the customer service folks email everyone that has requested shipment on Jan 3 and let them know?? I had to call them myself and ask what the status was and then literally pull teeth for the representative to give me a tracking number. She didn't even know if the package was being delivered by Fedex or USPS. No apology for the inconvenience, nothing. Almost 2 weeks later, my gift is supposed to be delivered today. Fingers crossed, all will be ok and at least the fruit will be good. Very disappointed in the customer service here, especially since this was an important gift for my boss. read more

I have yet to receive my oranges yet, so this review is not about the quality of the fruit. I will update it when it finally arrives. I ordered this fruit 8 days ago and it has yet to leave Orlando, FL. I called on Monday morning and asked what was going on, and they told me they only ship on Fridays and that actually my order might not even be going out until the NEXT Friday. What? When I'd placed the order five days before a Friday, it wasn't going to go out THAT Friday, but the next one? I finally got a notice later in the day on Monday (one week after the order was placed) that it had shipped, but I think it is going to take at least a week to get to me. It is just barely in the FedEx system as of today, Tuesday (late in the day) and has only been received today by the shipper in Orlando. It will now go ground shipping the rest of the way. Who does business like this? I've ordered all kinds of fresh food products from many businesses, and I've never had something take two weeks to arrive from the time of order (unless there was a backorder). Sent fruit to my daughter in Portland, OR for Thanksgiving. They guaranteed it would be delivered the week of Thanksgiving. It arrived the Saturday after Thanksgiving. When I called customer service they said they would get back to me and make it right. I am still waiting to hear from them and it's three days before Christmas. I will never order from them again. There are plenty of other places to ship fruit from in Florida and I'm sure they will stand behind their guarantees. read more

Was just in Sarasota for Christmas, and went by Albritton's to buy a bag of Tangerines. The bag was 16.95 and out of the whole bag only about 1/4 of bag was fit to eat. Disgusting, rip of!! All dried up when you peeled them. Being from Florida, was very disappointed , will never buy here again. read more

i was refered to Mixon Fruit Farms as a replacement for Albrittons, and Mixons had it all and then some. This place is like a mini Disney world. Tram tours ,Animal rescue wildlife facility(it was awesome getting to hold some of the exotic animals and take pictures with them). Their Cafe was great, FREE sample of everything(fresh squeezed OJ,Lemonade, Grapefruit juice, homemade butter fudge, their own wines(got a little tipsy because they keep the FREE wine samples flowing generously), kettle corn popped right there in front of you, every kind of fruit that's in season they have cut up into FREE samples) Well worth any trip to Florida because of the true southern hospitality you'll experience from one of the few family owned business left. You can also take a tour of the packing house where they let you get right in the action where they are squeezing and bottling the juice, grading and sorting the fruit, and packing up gift baskets of fruit to ship all over USA and Canada. read more
