On May 29th, I reached out to Melissa to schedule my first sound bath session. She was very accommodating with time & scheduled my friend & I for June 13th. She informed me of the variety of services she offered along with pricing & recommended what materials to bring (yoga mat, pillow & blanket) & to dress comfortably (leggings, sweats, etc.). The day of my appointment, Melissa sent a friendly reminder of my time slot along with the address of her office. Unfortunately, I did not have a yoga mat, but she was kind enough to offer her own. My friend's niece asked to join the session a few hours beforehand & Melissa was kind enough to include her. I must emphasize how accommodating Melissa was--first with scheduling, then with materials & lastly with a sudden drop-in. We arrived to her office at 7PM, where Melissa greeted us at the door with a friendly smile. The smell of sage filled the room. My words won't do justice in describing how calming, relaxing & welcoming the atmosphere was. Candles were lit, stones & crystals were displayed & there was an array of rainbow singing bowls beautifully laid out. Melissa offered eye masks to prevent us from opening our eyes, so that we could be fully engulfed in the session (such a great idea). She asked for our names & gave us the option to explain why we felt like we needed to be here. She gave a thorough outline of the session, explained what the singing bowls & tuning forks were for & explained each chakra in detail. When the session began, I felt at ease doing breath work which was then followed by listening to the singing bowls. I felt a lot of tension when I arrived because I didn't know what to expect. After all, this was my first sound bath & meditation class. Melissa was guiding us through the sound waves & tuning forks. Tuning forks--what a mesmerizing experience. The vibrations put me at ease. It's always been hard for me to tune out distraction, but the sounds resonated with me & I focused on myself thus reaching a meditative state. Once the sound bath session ended, Melissa offered an oracle reading. I was drawn to the "Spirit Animals Oracle Deck" where I was met by the turkey, the dove & the armadillo. I was immediately drawn by the dove because my cousin's birthday was the following day & he had been heavy on my mind. I had to stop her from going forward because it was a lot for me to handle, but I thought it resonated with me so well. It was honestly a beautiful testament. This experience was an excellent way to meditate & add to my self-care. I left feeling at peace, refreshed & relaxed. I can't recommend Melissa enough & I commend her for being so dedicated & passionate to her craft. She even went so much as to check up on me afterwards & ask how I was doing. I had a session with Melissa on 11/12. It was my first time receiving reiki so I didn't know what to expect, but I felt taken care of during my session and sensed relief in my heart. I've had a total of 3 sessions with Melissa. Each time has been a great experience and I always feel lighter afterwards. My first two were at local pop-up events and the third was at her office. Each location was very nice and comfortable with a private room. For each session she explained the process, checked in with how I was feeling and if I'd like to focus on anything specific. Once the session was over she'd check in and we'd go over any messages we received during the session followed by aftercare instructions.
