I read the negative reviews and thought it was only fair to write an accurate review of my experience. I'm a new patient. Overall, my annual exam experience was positive - no complaints. Let's be honest, it's not like any woman really enjoys her annual exam. The receptionist was friendly. The nurse was courteous. Dr. Fleming was knowledgeable and professional. I had been going to my prior OB for over 20 years, but Alcott is in my own backyard so I thought I'd give them a chance instead of commuting to Lakewood. I'd recommend visiting their website before your visit and filling out the necessary paperwork ahead of time. This will expedite your visit. I did this prior to my appointment and was in and out of their office in less than 40 minutes. I'll be returning next year. read more

I am frightened to see that Dr. Fleming is still practicing. I was a patient at your despicable practice over two years ago. Now that I'm pregnant with my second child and receiving a far higher level of care, I wanted to reach out to your practice and once again express my frustrations and concerns, in the hope it may literally save a life of another baby. Because you are (hopefully were) so grossly disorganized at the time my appointments were constantly being cancelled WHEN I arrived at your office. My job was beginning to dock my personal time for these, and due to the fear of not being able to make a living I was forced to schedule my appointments with Dr. Fleming ONLY. She was grossly inattentive. My fetal (belly) measurements were done with a tape measure, and taken by an incredibly inexperienced intern. Often, this intern was unable to locate my babies heartbeat on the out of date monitor being used as well. Dr. Fleming was NEVER present for these interactions with her intern. I understand from mothers in the area that this practice still takes place; how can this be considered even mildly acceptable? At approximately 20 weeks pregnant I was told I was "measuring small". Because (and Lord, I hope this has changed), your practice had no ultra sound technician on staff at the time that was available for at least a week, I had to have an "emergency" ultra sound within the Platte Valley Hospital that I was then charged $1,200.00 for without being told it was outside of our network. The results of this ultra sound were that my baby was "small", but that there was not yet a need for concern and that an "eye would be kept" on my growth. Again, Dr. Fleming never personally measured my belly. I was never given a follow up ultra sound. Not once. She barley even spoke to me at appointments. Finally, at the end of my pregnancy I ended up getting a severe upper respiratory infection. I was vomiting severely. I had a fever, and was obviously dehydrated. I was concerned about a lack of movement from my baby. I called Alcott. I was told that no, I could not be seen. I was literally not allowed to make an additional appointment. I called Platte Valley; at this point I was literally laughed at by one of the labor and delivery nurses who told me that I could come in when my contractions were 5 minutes apart and not before. I wasn't even full term. I was scared, sick, and being refused care by your practice and the hospital. I want to know even several years later how Dr. Fleming or your practice justify treating a new mother, or any human being this way. Thankfully, when I called an urgent care that day trying to receive some kind of care I was directed to St. Josephs midwives downtown. And thank God. They told me to come right in. I was given an IV of fluids, diagnosed with a severe upper respiratory infection and dehydration, put on a fetal monitor, and taken care of. I switched doctors IMMEDIATELY. At my first appointment, I was given an ultra sound, because unlike your practice they had the resources and technology to take care of pregnant women. My baby was too small, and not by a small margin. I was sent to a specialist, and had to be induced one week early. Had I stayed at Alcott, no one would have even noticed. No one has cared any time I complained. Shortly after she was born my daughter was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition. If I had stayed at your practice she literally would have died. This has bothered NO ONE with your practice. Dr. Fleming is STILL sending her intern into patient appointments to "take measurements". At my new doctor with my second pregnancy, they've done an ultra sound EVERY TIME. I want to know how you get away with staying in business. I genuinely do. And I hope someone with half a soul gets a hold of this email and shuts you people down. read more

My wife asked me not to write a review on this practice and I usually do not like to write reviews unless my experience is worse that terrible. I'm not going to go into detail about our experiences here because we are in the process of having our records to our new doctor and from what I have read on the internet they are really good at loosing patient's paperwork that leave this practice. I will tell you from my experience that the people working the desk are not nice, not friendly, slightly angry and unhelpful. I'm sure you can find the one word I'm thinking of to describe them in a nutshell. When you come in be ready to share a packed room with people who look like they are there on your hard earned dime and expect to wait an hour past your scheduled time every time you come in. This is supposed to be a special event in your life and I'll tell you this. Coming to this clinic really takes the wind out of your sails. Avoid at all cost. I love Dr. Stacey Hennessy she is such a wonderful person and very personable. I recommend her to everyone that is looking for a new OB doctor. She delivered three of my four kiddos and when she left her old business I was so happy to find her again. She is fantastic! Horrible. I got misdiagnosed and had a really bad time until another doctor figured it out. Don't go to this place if you can avoid it.

This is the worst medical facility I have ever been to. I went there for the first time a little over a year ago to get a nexplanon inserted. This was my third time getting one in. The previous physician I went to inserted it correctly putting it under the surface of the skin. The NP I saw at Alcott put it in too deep. I am now in the process of trying to get it removed. I have already had three unsuccessful surgeries getting it removed. Now I have to go in and get a fluoroscopic surgery to remove it which is going to cost me a few thousand dollars. In the consent form it clearly states "the Nexplanon should not be inserted too deeply." So when I asked them to pay for the surgery since they are the ones who inserted it incorrectly they told me that they would not do anything and wouldn't take responsibility. When I asked if they could get a hold of their Malpractice insurance and ask them to try and cover it due to an unforeseen outcome, (which we have done in the medical practice I work at for patients. It does not make a claim or increase their premiums.) They told me that their Nurse Practitioners are not covered in their Malpractice insurance. If anyone else has experienced similar issues with Alcott please message me... I am seriously considering taking legal action... read more

If I could give this center a 0, I would. 1. They told me the wrong appt time on the phone 2. Took 1.5 hours for what I was told was a 30 min appt 3. They gave me, literally, 4 minutes to fill out 8 detailed sheets of information before they called me back 25 minutes early to my appt (that's why you show up early!!!) 4. The nurse was ditzy and incompetent - didn't tell me what to do with the urine sample or what it was for (thank goodness I'd done one before!), "lost" me when I was in the chair in the corner of my room filling out paperwork they didn't let me finish in the waiting room "She's MIA, I can't find her"...doctor leans in the room..."Um, she's right here..." 5. They neglected to tell me that I'd be doing blood labs that day...I have small veins and I was dehydrated bc it was a morning appt, it took 3 sticks for 5 viles of blood I didn't know I was giving. 6. The doctor got nasty when I asked questions...this is my first pregnancy, idiots, I'm going to ask questions. Again, first pregnancy people. 7. They didn't bother to consult the paperwork, so I had to repeat myself about 5 times. 8. During the ulltrasound, I had to ask questions instead of her volunteering information. 9. They did an internal ultrasound and I had to ask for stuff to clean up with - seriously? I have to ask for this stuff?! 10. Doctor wasn't going to give me the option for expensive tests that are voluntary. 11. I had to call them a few weeks later to find out what the blood tests were actually for - I got shuffled around and put on hold 4 times before I got someone who could read my chart to me. 12. I got mail from the labs for my insurance paperwork - why? BECAUSE THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE DIDN'T BOTHER TO SEND THE ACTUAL INSURANCE PAPERWORK! These people are inpatient, incompetent, and ridiculous. Don't bother going here. Ever. read more

I agree... If I could give this clinic a 0 I absolutely would. The untrained and unprofessional receptionist list my insurance information. They then continue to bill me 100$ for what should be a 100% covered visit. Dealing with Alicia in billing is a joke. She is completely unwilling to take accountability for their mistake. This will be my second ever review on yelp, I will not write something negative unless it is truly warranted. The Alcott women's center staff is rude, and will at all cost place blame for their mistakes on the customer. We had 3 appointments at this clinic and specifically asked to be scheduled with a doctor who is not on call. They said no problem and pushed us through like cattle. The last two appointments were cancelled because they blatantly lied and scheduled us with the on call doctor and when we arrived they were out on call. When I asked why they scheduled us with the on call doctor they tried saying we requested that doctor, when I challenged them they said all appointment on that day were with on call doctors. Forgetting their previous lie told at the first appointment. This clinic treats it's clients like a number and has no idea of how to care for a pregnant woman. We both work and making appointments during the work week is tricky, so them canceling is a big deal. Them being dishonest and rude was the last straw. Plenty if good doctors out there, avoid Alcott at all costs!!!! read more

The receptionist is rude and has no interest in helping. We have had bad experiences on more then one occasion with allcott during maternity, delivery, and general gynecological care. If we could do it over we would have gone with a different provider. read more

It's been a while since I've been to the Gyno doctor and this experience was not a great one. The doctor (not sure if she was) she didn't introduce herself, shake my hand..nothing, she went right into business. At one point she asked me a question and then cut me off. She just wasn't friendly, seemed in a hurry, and didn't make my experience an pleasant one. The vibe in this office isn't a great one, no one is smiling, just weird. I had my 2 children at Women's Health Group in Thornton and they were so much better. The wait wasn't too bad, and the receptionist was nice. I will be looking for a new doctor to go to. I also would not recommend going to this location at all, especially for new moms - I had a regular exam and I wasn't happy! read more

I have never been treated so horribly. I was talked down to, insulted, and degraded. I told the dr I had put on 20 pounds in the months prior to getting pregnant because I had quit smoking. Her response, " well obviously". She proceeded to give me misinformation. (told me I was high risk because of my age and when I pointed out that I'm 29 she said " oh never mind you're not that old") this was not the only misinformation either. I would agree, I would not take the time to write a bad review if the experience had not been so terrible. If I could give this center a zero I would as well. The office staff are rude, unprofessional, unorganized and INEPT. I called to see if they were contracted with my insurance company and they said yes that they were. That WAS ALL THEY SAID. No one told me that I HAD TO CHECK my own coverage for the specific office visit. Off course, the staff is going to protect themselves and say differently. Had I known that I had to get the "codes" for the specific visit and call to find the specific coverage, I would have. Alcott Women's center forgets that the only reason why they have jobs is because of the patients who come there. Will never return to this facility - there is more bad news from our visit to this place but I think the public gets the idea. Find another OBY.... read more

The staff including the doctors are very rude and unhelpful. I had a total of 4 visits during my pregnancy before changing doctors and every time I had to wait over an hour past my appointment time before I was even called back to a room and then had to wait at least another 45 minutes after that before being seen. The receptionist is probably the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever had the misfortune of coming in contact with, having once written the wrong date on my appointment card and then tried to charge me for a missed visit and lied to me about no doctors being in the office that day (as I see my doctor walk down the hallway behind her) forcing me to come back a week later. At my last visit the doctor saw was so rude and mean to me that I actually walked out crying without her even checking on my baby, after I waited almost 2 hours past my appointment time for her to see me. I was also told that I was not allowed to bring my other child to my appointments, forcing either my husband to take time off work or I had to pay for a babysitter and considering that each visit lasted about 3 hours because of the wait time ended up being very expensive. The only positive thing I can say about this place is about the Sonographer, Lynn, who is very sweet and is very generous with sonogram pictures. I saw her a few times and she is always very sweet and happy and takes the time to explain what she is looking for and how everything is looking. This doctors office is an absolute JOKE. My first appointment was with a nurse practitioner and she did nothing but judge me and make me feel terrible the whole time. The front desk has called me twice to reschedule appointments because they couldn't get it right the first time. Also, they have billed my previous insurance 3 times now and i have to keep calling to tell them to bill the correct insurance. I filled out a transfer request for my medical records 2 weeks ago and today I received a call from my new doctors office reminding me to get my records transferred before my appointment in 2 days. When I called Alcott to ask why my records hadn't been transferred after 2 weeks the lady stated that they had no record of me requesting for my records to be transferred. So they lost my first request form and i was told that I have to go out there and fill another one out. I see terrible reviews on here from as far as 2011.....how long will it take these people to get their s*** straight?! the ONLY positive thing I have to say about this practice is Dr. Flemming and the only ultrasound tech I was seen by, are very nice and very sweet women. I will be driving an extra 30 minutes now to Avista womens care in Louisville where I had my first daughter. Hospital and staff are great there. read more

I would highly recommend finding a different doctor's office. I had an IUD placed here over a year ago. Called them after a year with severe abdominal pain and bleeding. I told them I thought that it had to do with the IUD. I told the lady on the phone that I had thrown up multiple times due to the pain. They told me they couldn't help because they weren't open and that it wasn't a problem with the IUD. At this point I am begging the person on the phone just to meet with me due to the amount of pain I was in. There was no sympathy and just a cold answer that I wasn't going to get any help here. I ended up going to the ER and having an ectopic pregnancy with severe blood loss. I was rushed into surgery right away. This is an issue that I could have lost my life over and the first doctor I ran to couldn't have cared about her patient less. My only advice is to stay clear of being treated here for anything. read more

AWFUL!!! I had my first appointment there today. I arrived 30 minutes early as instructed to fill out all the paperwork. My actual appointment time came and went and 30 more minutes passed by. My husband had to leave to pick up our daughter before I even got seen. I asked how much longer as I had been waiting an hour in a half at this point. They said they had overbooked and were having some scheduling delays. The front desk staff were not friendly or helpful at all. The second time I went up she asked if I had done a urine sample to which I said no ..... I had never been there before and no one told me I needed to. So she instructed me to do that. When I returned to the lobby I waited another 15 minutes in the lobby before being taken back. Finally once in the exam room I noticed the previous patient's information displayed on the tv monitor on the wall. That made me really uncomfortable and made me fear that my information may be left like that for the next patient to see. Isn't that a health privacy violation? Anyways, not to go into too much detail I had the worst and most painful pap smear I've ever had and am still bleeding from it (which has never happened before or this much blood). Then after several more minutes of waiting in between I saw the last of the nurses who was to take my blood. She was plain awful and as rude as can be. I told her I have a tendency to faint when I get my blood drawn and she was like "OKAY ......... well then would you like to lay down" she snapped. I said yes if that would be okay. She grabbed her stuff and got super irritated with me and took me into another room. She said not one word to me when she was taking my blood. When she was done she said you can leave now and walked out of the room .... I have an awful taste in my mouth from this place. I will not be going back!!! I will find somewhere else that has it together and who has a kind and compassionate staff. Somewhere I don't have to worry about my personal information being displayed improperly for the public to see. Save yourself the trip and the headache and find somewhere else. I do not trust these people with the prenatal care or delivery or health and well being of me or my baby!!! read more
