Went there last night. Just plain bad... The buffet was empty except for beans and rice and stuff for nachos. They had hard shells but nothing else. For the price of the buffet, it should be fully stocked. They used to have a great dessert and fruit bar - not no more. Had to wait 10 minutes until someone came to the front to be seated. Once seated it was almost another 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. It seemed like Noone cared. I always had a great meal when they were at the other location but totally disappointed now. read more

This place is incredible, I live right near it and we frequent it often. The food is always fresh and very very delicious. My only "complaint" is the small choice of things for desert, but the main stuff here is so good, who cares! read more

Buffets like this one make me miss Michigan!! This is a great place, awesome seating, superb Mexican food (didn't taste like Microwaved food) for both Veggies and Non Veggies, and of course their Choco Cake for Dessert. We recently stopped in after hearing the food was authentic. I'm love Mexican food so I was looking forward to giving it a try. I have to say it was a huge disappointment we will not be going back again. Food was very bland, meat was all the same. My husband and i got different dishes and it was same food different presentation. The chips were ok but the salsa was lacking and tasted a bit like pizza sauce. Service was extremely slow even getting water was tough and the staff were not friendly nor did they act like they cared. I know it's not a high end restaurant but so much was lacking. We went on a Friday night and just overall both left feeling like we had wasted our money.. If you are looking for authentic Mexican hit up old town or El Oasis on Michigan. I caution anyone ordering from the catering menu to call the day before to make sure they have your order. Then call the day of your event and make sure they are making your order for delivery. I placed a catering order for a baby shower with a delivery at 11:30am, when it was 11:45 and no food I called the catering phone number that just rang. I called the main number and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes only to be told Rueben would call me back. He did and apologized saying he took the order but doesn't know what happened to the order but it would be delivered within 35-40 minutes. At 11:55 was told they were waiting for the delivery guy to get back and we were up next. At 1pm still no food, the food finally arrived and the order was wrong. The enchiladas were supposed to be chicken and beef, since they screwed up hey decided to make cheese enchiladas...do you think we wouldn't notice? Of course we noticed, the food was COLD and CONGEALED!!! The tacos were supposedly be 1/2 beef and chicken, they brought us all COLD beef tacos. I haven't eaten at Aldaco's in at least five years, probably more like six or seven. I was in there one time eating the buffet and a big tall redneck in a cowboy hat walked in, went over to the buffet, stuck his hand in one of the pots and dragged out a big hunk of meat and shoved it in his mouth. I frantically called the waitress over and told her about it, expecting her to talk to him and to remove the tainted pot of meat. She just giggled and said, "I know. He always does that." I told her and the manager there was no way I was paying for the buffet after that. They didn't seem to think that guy's behavior was a big deal. read more

Me & my friends and our two babies came and ate here last Friday around dinner time , we got the buffet & everything was HORRIBLE the food seemed like it sat out all day the meat was mixed with fresh cooked n some old , & that night up until Monday me and my friends had food borne illness/ food poisoning THANK YOU Aldacos for making me spend 40$ and some change for a shitty experience & to get sick from eating here & oh I called to speak with a manager she said she'll take a "note" what the fuck does that mean horrible jus sick service I'll never eat here again n I'll make sure nobody iknow ever does either thank god I didn't leave a tip only thing satisfying was the lemonade sad read more

There are lots of different types of Mexican food, but Aldoco's serves my favorite. There is no beating their buffet. It has great food at a modest price. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I love this place! read more

We went there because Asia's Finest was closed on Sundays (we forgot). What a great find! The buffet was fantastic. Lots to choose from. Fresh. Watched the guy making tortillas as we ate. The staff was warm and attentive. Affordable. Cannot say enough good things about them. read more

Went into for quick lunch on a Saturday at 235pm. Had a dog in the car so it needed to be relatively fast, after soft drinks and chips and very salty salsa had to leave at 325 still waiting for our meal. Gave them 4 bucks for 2 cokes. Most patrons ate at the buffet so I did not realize the hold -up. Aldacos is great if you are on a diet, you never get served!! read more

I used to live in Southern California for a few years, and I was so sad because I could not find a place in Lansing that lived up to my favorite Mexican restaurants out west. This place came ridiculously close. The lunch buffet is worth the price, and it is very yummy! read more

Let me start by saying that I used to love this place. But I went there today with my family for the first time in about a year. And let me tell you that the food and the service were the wrorst I have ever had. The food was either cold our hard as a rock. I used to drive to Lansing all the time from Jackson just to eat here. After today I would not go there again if I lived next door. Like I said it used to be my favorite place to eat. I once recommended it to everyone that I knew. I have been a customer of this business since the beginning on the north end, when Juvie and Mary started it. The food was always superb. When they moved to the first S. Cedar location, the business was being passed down to the younger family members and the buffet went in. That's when it started. The food lost its taste and the customers too. you can see by the other reviews in Jan. of 2012 had four stars in March of 2016 one star. I was in the area and said what the hell give it a try call in a order for pick-up, was told 10 mins. arrived a minute or so early. It a Sat. about 6'clock maybe 3 tables. Went in paid was told it will be right out. tic toc...another person came in paid and was waiting for his pick-up also tic-toc... 10 mins. employees are talking w/ each other not bothering w/ the few people that walked in. If they did happen to see them they said oh go have a seat. The man also waiting, told a some people that were standing there looking lost, they dont care go have a seat. tic - toc Its now been 20 damn minutes. I ask the cashier she said oh it'll be right out they got backed up...? the place is 90% empty how backed up can it be? tic-toc. I finally got my order after almost 30 minutes and it was aweful......... never again. read more

I've been visiting Aldacos for years. So I feel confident I know what it is like eating here. Sometimes the food and service are good and other times bad....sometimes both suck on the same visit. If the food is hot and has seasoning it is awesome, but they definitely have a problem with hot food. The buffet has the biggest problem being hot, but even ordering off the menu isn't a guarantee as either the cook uses old tortillas or the waitresses lets the plate sit too long before bringing the food out as I've gotten bad tortilla shells with my tacos. There are like two good waitresses but the others are ok or awful. The one with the dyed blondish hair and really long nails that are probably a health code violation because she can't keep them off the plates she carries is the worst. My last visit none of the food had any flavor or seasoning, and we had the awful waitress who prefers to argue with customers with their concerns and barely stops by and never to check on the satisfaction with the food. The unfortunate part is even if you tell them you had a bad experience, they don't care. They don't ask why so they can improve things. I got a sorry and sent on my way. (Thus why I'm complaining here.) I'm very disappointed in Aldacos and so is my dinner partner. He loves all you can eat buffets (he's more for quantity over quality), but I get the final decision on where we eat. So until I'm over my irritation he'll be missing it. So to those of you deciding to visit: may the odds be ever in your favor....as you never know what kind of food or service you'll get. read more
