I really like this Aldi location! I have Fridays off and I find going there on a Friday morning to get some of my grocery shopping done is a quick and pleasant experience. I like that I can get things like almond flour, Chia seeds, flaxseed and other items that are very expensive in most grocery stores for a fraction of the cost. I usually stock up on these items when I go because they are so much cheaper. I love their prices but I only buy certain things there. I love their organic pasta, frozen veggies and other basics, I cook clean healthy food from scratch most days of the week and I really enjoy their selection. read more

My German friend likes Aldi and I know they are the parent company of Trader Joe's, but I find shopping here a depressing experience. I stopped in for rye berries and cabbage, items I assumed German home cooks would want for making bread and sauerkraut, but neither was available among the cartons of chips and snacks with made-up brands that are close to what you recognize but not quite. The security, with turnstiles and metal detectors and exit barriers, would be more appropriate at a death metal concert at SPAC; Aldi, I am not going to shoplift your strudel. I experienced a moment of panic when trying to leave without buying anything and it looked like I was going to have to wait in a long line behind a lady with an aisle-filling mobility contraption. Then a kind checker took note of my plight and let me know you can get past the exit barrier by lifting, then swinging out, the metal gate. I love Aldi. I go almost everyday . The fruit and veggies are nice and fresh. The Aldi Finds aisle is my weakness . So many cool , interesting seasonal items . read more

I finally stopped here, after driving by probably hundreds of times over the years. It seems like a pretty typical Aldi in terms of layout and products. The shelves were well stocked. The produce looked quite good. Even on a fairly busy Saturday morning, there was only 1 cashier, but evidently he did a good job as there was hardly any line to check out. The parking lot is quite large. You need a coin for the shopping cart here, otherwise you have to rely on family members, or a little red wagon, or serfs, to help you carry things. Hard working staff. Veggies sometimes not that great. Store could use updating. However I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this location. With food shortages Aldi is working hard to keep this stocked on the shelves. read more

They take credit cards now! Excellent quality on much of their own brand stuff. Affordable. I have shopped here for several years now. You really have to try stuff and see what you like. Do a little Googling and see they are under the same main company as Trader Joe's...and total hearsay but I was told that the person in charge of Aldi chose to go with better ingredients over the Trader Joe's person. read more

It is not uncommon for people to do their grocery shopping on the way home from work. Why does this store consistently only have 1 cash register open at 5 pm, one of the most popular times for commuting home and food shopping? It's incredibly frustrating and quite frankly, ridiculous. It's especially irritating when people waiting on these outrageously long lines see an ALDI employee standing idly, giving no acknowledgement to the anger radiating from their customers. The people who are calling Aldi a food pantry or insulting the quality should stay out of Aldi. Sone people are just so unhappy with themselves that they look for reasons to be nasty. One gentlemam even described panic at the thought of being behind a " mobility contraption"...those are handicapped accesible carts (dbag). Aldi does have generic items; they are able to distribute these items at a lower price. They do offer brand name items at times. They also have German chocalate all year (and special weeks where Italian, German or Kosher) items are available. Overall, I enjoy shopping at Aldi; I go there for certain items that I know my family likes. Also, I have never been in an Aldi that had a metal detector as one review stated. read more

Aldi is really, really cheap, and there are some tradeoffs for that. The stock is hit-or-miss - go earlier in the day and you usually have better luck. You won't be able to find specialty ingredients - but there are other markets that I visit once a month for these things, and I actually appreciate that the store is very small and quick to shop. The checkout line is usually long - but I like the system that they use to make it go as fast as possible, with putting things back in the cart to be bagged later. I find the staff to generally be friendly if you initiate the friendliness. I'm on a very limited budget and Aldi is helping significantly to stretch it as far as possible. I accept that I won't get the bells and whistles (or prices) of the other stores in exchange for saving money. read more

The staff is not friendly. Some things are priced okay but I find better prices at Walmart. A bag of chips at Walmart .78 same sized bag at Aldis 1.17. Milk is not cheap here it is the same as everywhere else. Hot dog and Hamburger rolls at Aldi .85 at Walmart .67, bread is cheaper .85 at Aldi 1.04 at Walmart. Not enough of a savings on a few things to make a second stop. read more

I go there when I'm in Ballston I find they have a limited assortment of generic items. I purchased can goods milk, bread or hamburger rolls, fruit, and frozen items at a decent price and found they were fine. Bring your own bags and you have to put s quarter for shopping cart which you get back plenty of parking and staff has always been friendly with me so for certain items I have to problem going there. read more

They shouldn't call it a grocery store, It's more like a food pantry. What they have stocked is so painfully limited and generic, I couldn't wait to get out of there. Their "low prices" are pretty much exactly the same as the Great Value brand that Walmart offers. It's an absolute joke of a store and I will never go back there. read more
