It's with a heavy heart that I write this. I'm probably not going any more. I had high hopes. Often Aldi would embarrass other grocers with great prices and staples we use frequently. Sometimes, their special buys might be interesting. Now, they're only an aisle of someone's unsold carbohydrates. Pickle-flavored popcorn. We'd buy some of their cheeses. Now they're not competitive. There might be bay scallops, even tofu pot stickers. No more. Once in a rare while, there might be inexpensive avocados and yes, there were some this week. But many other staples we bought are gone, or can be found cheaper up and down the street. Their aisles are clogged, but their merchandise comes twice a week, and specials are sold out quickly; they offer no rainchecks. With barely a single cashier, you have to love their automated checkout or wait in long lines. Their staff are worked really hard; it's a good job if you like exercise. I don't find them as deceptive or mercurial as Kroger, who tries to dominate Monroe County. A recent remodel seems to have shrunken available merchandise diversity. What merchandise they have has increased in price paralleling and exceeding their competition. I wish I could say better. I love competition. read more

When on the road for a few days or more, I usually end up at a grocery store for supplies. In the case of this ALDI, my search was for sparking water, which is a key way for me to reduce my alcohol consumption. This grocery store is close to Gayle's Son's house and was easy to get in, navigate, and leave. Nice prices too. The Inventory remined me a little bit of Grocery Outlet, except I think ALDI selections are a little more timely. If I lived here, this ALDI would probably serve as supplemental shopping to a larger store like Kroger. The items here are more basic for the home, but in smaller sizes than say Costco. ALDI is also different than a Trader Joe's which strikes me as offering more specialty items to a more disposable income crowd. I could be all wrong here, but my pattern is to regularly shop across at least a few stores. read more

I hadn't gone to Aldi in years because when I lived in Indy the one I had gone to was dirty and it made me have a bad impression of Aldi in general. I have gone into this one a few times now and it is so clean and nothing like what I had previously seen. The employees always seem helpful and friendly and it is an extremely nice store. They didn't have everything I wanted but most of my list was filled. I have changed my mind about Aldi and highly recommend this store. read more

Aldi is the best! If you are looking for true savings on groceries, this is the place. It's unpretentious and you pay for that in savings. Yes, you do need a quarter to use the cart, but you get it back when you replace the cart. The inside doesn't look fancy but Aldi brand products are solid. You can find a lot of fancy European foods and cheeses for a fraction of the price at other stores. I love the savings on fancy European cheeses like brie. Basics like eggs, milk, flour, sugar and cheese are very affordable! After realizing I can get double or even triple the amount of food here for the same amount of money I was spending at other stores, I now exclusively shop at Aldi. You have to bring your own bags, or you can buy them at the register. I keep several bags in my trunk so I save even more money! Aldi is continuing to expand their product line, so there are even more organic products available at very cheap prices. They also removed artificial coloring from their products last year. They have most things, but not everything. For example, I can't find fresh herbs here most of the time. Overall, shopping at Aldi is the best as it gives you serious bang for your buck! read more

A solid four star Aldi location. Parking and accessibility of finding it for this out-of-towner was a very easy trek off of 37 heading back to Indy. Ample parking too. This specific location is airy, but it seems as though it needs a renovation like many others have gone through recently. The inside feels grimy and old and thirsty for an upgrade of some sort. It was busyyy when I went, but that's to be expected on a Sunday. The lines moved quickly and I found most of the items I need. Those I didn't find - I found at Kroger just down the road. Nice Aldi - just needs a nice upgrade. read more

I was in the store Sunday afternoon. The store was a mess and the cashier was rude. I asked why so many people were allowed to shop without masks even though we are under a mask mandate. The cashier snapped at me saying "I'm wearing one, what else do you want me to do?" Global Pandemic vs Profits. Great place to shop- NOT. read more

Aldi's continues to amaze me! Matt the mgr on the west end store on Liberty dr helped us find a lg Turkey. He went and brought out a whole pallet of butterball turkeys to help us look through. Thanks Matt and the other store folks. this is why we shop at Aldi's. Great prices are also a good reason to shop and come here first! read more

The East Side location is not too bad regarding checkout wait times, but the West Side of Bloomington has some challenges here. It takes me less time to find the 8-15 items than the wait in the checkout. This store was recently remodeled and love it! The layout is great and is easy to locate items. The only thing I am not so happy about is there produce section. One has to be careful about what you buy-I picked up a bag of yellow potatoes and brought them home. Only to discover, that some were rotten. Took it back and they were gracious about replacing it. If you are looking for a grocery store with a produce department the size of your living room with produce that won't last 2 days in your house....then this is the store for you. The most limited number of choices I've ever seen in a store. My one visit was more than enough. I won't return. read more

Idk what got into me to say their cheese is just ok. They have legit, special European cheeses (and other kinds too). Plus specialty chocolates, beautiful organic & conventional produce (do be sure to check the quality to make sure yours is the perfect ripeness - but you should do this wherever you shop...), fun pastas, different varieties of hummus, some premade deli type options (think chicken salad, pizza, etc), lots of breads (with gluten free varieties too), lactose free milk... all kinds of stuff. Super special yogurts too. If you're a gourmand you probably won't be able to get all your shopping done here and may need to get your basics here and your super specialty stuff from Fresh Thyme, Kroger, or Butcher's Block. But they have great stuff here (wine & beer also!), wonderful prices, and great staff too. Personally I enjoy a finite number of options and have a great time with what I can find here. read more

I found weekday shopping much more pleasant than Saturday afternoon (no more zombies, and even a happy cashier, yay!). And I'm totally in love with Aldi's German imports: the beer and high-end chocolate that they have all the time, and today, their Oktoberfest specials like schnitzel, strudels, real German bratwurst, and the super-tasty jar of red cabbage that costs at least $6.00 if you buy it at any of the groceries on the east side -- at Aldi, $1.69. Unequivocally the best German items EVER available in Bloomington. And still, $1.99/lb chicken breast -- can't be beat. The only negative point is that this Aldi does not seem to carry everything in their online ad. Still absolutely worth the trip across town. read more

ALDI is one of the best grocery stores but unexpectedly I was greatly disappointed with my last purchase - ground beef - it was full of small pieces of bones! So I met a problem to trust or not next time- that's a problem! read more
