I shop at Aldis and Trader Joe's. The difference between these 2 retail grocery behemoths is really starting to blur. I am seeing a lot of crossover in their product lines. Oh and if you need any kitchen appliances, they have been of excellent quality at a fraction of the price. I love the get in get out mentality of this place.

My daughter said she had difficulty locating good frozen salmon at a good price. She knows I am an Aldi shopper & know where to look & who to ask if need be. The store is clean, well organized & well managed. Associates seems to take pride & ownership in giving excellent customer service. If something's not right, they do the best they can to make it right.

The produce is typically in good condition and fresh. Some of the stuff is not as ripe compared to other markets.

Poor customer service. Rude staff. And management is a joke. They ALL need training for their positions. Would not recommend.

They had a promotion that you can get 2 weeks for the price of 1 week and try this out. So I decided to try. Last week I got my first box. I chose the small vegetarian box. It's $29 bucks a week. So I got it for $19 bucks a week. My next box is this week. I got kale, zucchini, cucumbers, dill, blueberries, potatoes, kohlrabi, beets, peas, and an onion. Then we bought chocolate chips cookies and also a bag of english muffins. I made potato salad with the red potatoes and kohlrabi, and dill. We had breakfast sandwiches with the muffins they are big and really good! And I've made the various other veggies throughout the week. I am looking forward to this weeks box. I pick up at the Hudson stop. The lady who helped us was very nice. And they set up in a large space so you can see them and it's a good large window of time to get your stuff. Overall good experience and the veggies were fresh and good. I like that you're getting this from the source farmer. I like supporting a local farmer. Depending on your time and your means this could be a good alternative to shopping at corporate stores. Or maybe if you hate shopping for veggies. They have carnivore boxes and also vegan boxes. I chose the vegetarian because we get meat from a butcher. So this could be your shopping for the week in some cases. Check out the website and see if this is right for you.

Much has staid the same since the previous reviews... great weekly newsletter/ online store / bag process for 22 weeks in the summer... and a kind of wonky but refreshing winter subscription... summer starts in June and runs through october... winter picks right up but is only weekly to Turkey day and then changes to every other week. Shopping the online store is like having a farmer's market at your finger tips! Every week they also bring items to the stops for grab and go purchase... but if you really want milk and eggs... order online! They can sell out at the truck. This winter we tried the new Carnivore subscription... over the season smeveryone gets the same cow / pig / poultry and value add (lard, stock, deli meat, sausage, bones) but there is less flexibility... you need to go to the same stop each week. No dietary substitutions... everyone gets pork for example. The only downside to the omnivore winter subscription is the cabbage... lots and lots of cabbage... sauerkraut... more basketball size cabbages... so the carnivore is a nice change while still having access to the store and avoiding out of state protein. They post the newsletters and photos of the weekly bags online and have an epic treasure troce of recipes!

It might have been the best money I have spending during these unprecedented times. Since they were having a 50% off sale for new users, I thought it was a calling for me to order a box! The process was easy and by the following week, I received my first box! I was so excited to open and unfold the mystery of produce option, I couldn't help but share the good news with all my girl friends! All produce that came in the box looked pretty normal and there were hardly any imperfections to the produce. The two hardest items to decide how to cook/incorporate into my everyday meals was the head of red cabbage and a bag of baby radish. I was hoping that the PIP recipe unveiled on Friday would help me use the red cabbage or baby radish, but it had nothing to do with either veggie, which was perfectly fine. Thank goodness Google exists! The box that I got lasted me 3 weeks, with some meals getting takeout, so it would be hard for me to commit to doing this long term. It is definitely harder to go through groceries when I am only feeding myself, but I think this is a great option for families. The company has a great mission and I am happy to have tried to support local where I can!

However, it hasn't saved me from being really disappointed with my large mixed boxes lately. I understand that it's basically a mystery box every time I receive one. But, do I really need 2 pints of cherry tomatoes? No, one pint would have been fine. And while I appreciate a great big homegrown cauliflower, I'm paying for all of the waste that comes along with it. On more than one occasion, the boxes have been filled with excessive "filler" produce. They're notorious for stuffing 2 bags of apples, 3 cucumbers, 2 huge spaghetti squash and loads of oranges in the boxes lately. I get that they're busy and trying to get the weight up on the boxes they pack, but c'mon! This is really aggravating, because I'm trying to support a local business. But, I'm knocking my delivery down to once a month, then possibly not at all if this trend continues.

We had just come from the Yelpies (Yelp Awards) and I was dropping her off at her apartment but then I saw this market on the way so I stopped in. I had been meaning to visit Fairfax Market for a long time now so I'm glad that I finally got to visit. FOOD -- This is a huge grocery store with lots of food and drink options to choose from, such as snacks, meats (chicken, beef, fish), bread, milk, etc. I heard that they even have cooking demonstrations too. What I bought for all under $11 -- a big bunch of bok choy, 2 small stalks of broccoli, a small Arm and Hammer brand toothpaste, bananas, and 2 packages of tea biscuits. The bok choy was delicious that just recently, in April 2026, I drove by Fairfax and almost thought of going in to buy bok choy but I had a long day and I was too tired to stop. SERVICE -- My friend and I were greeted upon walking inside by a friendly security guard. Checking-out was easy and quick. The store is franchise family-owned (now local to the community). This grocery store was a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. It had mixed reviews from the community. My personal option was that it was just alright. I didn't experience anything that would keep me coming back. Layout: Grocery Outlet's layout is a lot more spacious than former Dave's. Specifically, the aisles are less closely spaced. There is sufficient space to roam. With that being said, the organization of the store seemed odd and hard to navigate. For instance, it took me a long time to find condiments (ketchup) which were separated away from the aisles. Assortment: This was my first experience at any Grocery Outlet. It reminded me of a mix of Dollar General and Big Lots. Overall, the following can be found here: meats, produce, breads, beer, snacks, condiments, dairy, toiletries, cleaning supplies, bread, pet food, snacks, and random stuff such as bird houses. If you are loyal to major brands, you'll likely won't find them here. Most are discounted brands many of them also sold at Dollar Tree. Other customers recommended to check expiration dates due to many discounted products being almost expired. I didn't personally see any of these items. The assortment didn't impress me at all. I couldn't buy everything I needed at this store because there were no major brand shampoos, pet foods, and toiletries. Those I've seen in the aisles were even more expensive than the competitors. Meats were mostly unrecognizable brands. Dairy section was extremely limited. Produce looked a little tarnished. Nothing particularly caught my eye in terms of price or quality. My purchase: I initially stopped in for grocery shopping but also to grab something quick for dinner. I didn't find either. The store didn't have any prepared foods or even good frozen selections (most were off brand and contained large quantities). I purchased hot dog meat (off brand), hot dog buns, ketchup (Grocery Outlet brand), small watermelon container (was soggy), and 4 small waters. I paid $20 something. Hot dogs were just okay, cheap tasting. I received a free branded tote which was nice. Overall, I guess that the price was good. Interesting find: The store has global foods aisle. It has foods from Asia and Latin America which is amazing. Savings: Savings are clearly indicated next to many items (our v their price). Marketing collateral in the store indicates savings if you download their app. Service: Service was average. The employees walking the checkout lines seemed apathetic. Lines moved quickly which was nice. Then again the store was almost empty on Sunday night. Parking: Parking lot is available onsite. Entrance is accessible from the parking lot only (unlike the former Dave's). I'm unlikely to become this store's frequent shopper despite living within walking distance. I feel that this store serves value-oriented families buying in bulk and non-committed to national brands. It doesn't well accommodate single people who are looking for quick prep options, small quantities, and high quality. I'll visit other stores in the area that better serve my personal needs.
