So overall steel yard aldi is OK it's actually good for me ,but what change is my opinion to a two star is now they have two different size Grocery carts and one smaller than the other and when you go to put your cart back, they're all mixed up and you have old people out there wrestling to get a cart because they get stuck together to the point where I couldn't pull them apart either and you can't put them back in to get your quarterback back so I brought it up to the workers and they just kind of gave me like there's nothing they could do about it and that's the way it is and that's exactly how I felt when I walked away, and I don't know why, but the security guard had to be involved in the conversation that had nothing to do with him and then once you know it as I'm leaving, I see an old man walking up and struggling to pull the cart apart read more

WOW is all I can say, the dramatic change from the original blueprint. Lighting is bright & the layout is way different will have to get to know where things are, that's ok for me. The signage is great, tall middle aged man was very helpful, there was 1 lady who was lost & he helped her out was very polite answered all questions & even supposed what he was doing to help her with her groceries. Much improved! The remodel on this store is just what it needed. Very friendly staff and lots of selections. Always make sure you bring a quarter for the shopping carts and your own bags. The cashiers were plentiful and the store was more organized than some other Aldis' I've been in. I'd like to stress that their food is the same as many other stores are far more expensive. Don't like an item? Return it they have a great guarantee, not too many stores do that. read more

I AM IN LOVEEEE!! I used to hate coming to this aldi but after the renovation it's shiny and brand new. I'll be coming here more often for sure! Its way more spacious and has alot more product. They carry the Perfect bars now.... I LOVE THEM. I was shocked to see how much they have after the renovation. Organized and so so so so soooooooo clean. Bring your reusable bags and shop til ya drop. For those who celebrate holidays they always carry holiday decorations. Also great for those who love the environment. Did not used to shop at Aldi's until the relatively recent inflation jacked up food prices. Now, we are hooked on Aldi. The meats are much cheaper than other grocery stores, and the quality is just as good. Their fresh produce is indeed fresh. We purchased some hot sauce that we never heard the name of before but it was quite good. The only downside is that it is hit or miss on many items, so typically you'll need to go to a full grocery store to get the remaining items on your list. Even so, Aldi will save you money without sacrificing quality. read more

Probably the only bright point in the Steelyard. This is the land of organic and non-gmo. Unlike most Aldi, this one is not cramped. Always spotless, including the lot. As others have pointed out, bring your quarter for the cart, and your reusable bags. Aldi is indeed cheap for most things. They are on par with Save a Lot in that regard. Aldi, being Aldi, carries organic apple cider vinegar, but zero white vinegar. They have begun carrying some national brands, like Coca Cola. Employees are always great and friendly. read more

Check your Mama Cozzis Pizza after you cook it! I usually dont post warnings, but I thought it was only right to do so. We cooked it, I started to eat it, and 3 pieces in my girlfriend checked the bottom of hers and saw this green discoloration on the back? WTF right? So. Suffice to say its money wasted and im keeping my fingers crossed that I dont get sick as I ate the first 3 pieces and didnt look This Aldis is still a great store, the deals are great, but check this Pizza before you eat it! I'll enclose a pic just to make ot clearer. Cheers to Aldis though. Generally speaking, I still prefer it to Giant Eagle. Fill your basket at Giant Eagle and get to $100, then do the same at Aldi. I consider myself an Aldi aficionado. I feel like I can say that because I almost exclusively shop at Aldis. Why wouldn't you? Cheap food. Minimal choice (I think this is a good thing!). Less waste for bags, Etc. This Aldi always seems to have longer lines that I'd like. They aren't bad, and maybe it's just my timing, but I always seem to be waiting in line! Overall they're pretty good at stocking things and there is always an ample Clearance rack. read more

It's been like ten years since I've been to an Aldi. In some ways, it's the same, in other ways it's much better. First, this store is very clean and everyone that worked there was friendly. The isles are wide and it's super easy to navigate. The store is small, so there's no chance of getting lost. The food is mostly inexpensive, but you only find real savings in the pre-packaged foods like cereal or frozen meals. The produce is actually really good, but it's not Aldi cheap. Then again, it's not outrageous either. The same goes for meat. You'll also find the best savings with their off-brand goods. Bump up to something name brand (there's not a lot of it) and you won't see the biggest savings. Stick with their generic brands and you're gold. In the end, if you're the kind of person who sticks to the outer edges of a grocery store, this might not give you enough savings to make it worth a trip. Overall, I think this is the best super discount grocery around. I like it a lot more than going to save-a-lot. Aldi is probably not my first choice grocery store, but it don't suck and I'm sure I'll be back. I recommend you go earlier in the day when it's not crowded. Also, make sure you have your own bags. New Aldi and I need food! Well Aldi's are Aldi's there is no surprise here...I still get squidgy when I have to use my card as debit and enter the pin. ( rarely carry cash...) Aldi is my happy place. They have everything I need all displayed in neat organized aisles. I'm in and out in under 20 minutes! Aldi stocks top-notch private label staples, fresh meat and produce, and cheap household goods. The prices here can't be beat, especially if you're used to shopping at Giant Eagle! People have been telling me to come to Aldi for literally years. I always shrugged them off thinking, what's the big deal? It's just a discount grocery store, but YOU GUYS, this place offers so much more than I would have expected. I envisioned this place to be like Save-a-Lot (flashbacks of frozen dinners and dented cans from my childhood ensue) but it really is so much better than that. They offer boxed snacks, fresh produce, dairy, bread/bakery, even some health foods like chia seeds and goji berries, and you won't believe how absolutely cheap everything is. Of course, you will sacrifice on some areas of customer service that are the norm at other grocery stores such as the fact that you need to pay for plastic bags if you don't bring your own and bag your groceries yourself, but really, this doesn't bother me at all (see my review of Marc's Fairlawn). In some ways, it's actually more convenient because I can bag my groceries the way I want. And of course there's the obligatory quarter to use a cart. Again, not a big deal, it's just part of the experience. Would I come here every week for groceries? Probably not, but if you're finding it difficult to stretch your grocery budget that week, or you need to pick up some snacks for a group or get-together, I think Aldi's offers quite a lot for what you get. This place is wonderful. The food prices are low, so you'd expect bad service or maybe a disorganized store but this is not the case at this location. The shelves have been fully stocked and well organized every time I've been there. The workers are nice and they work hard. So the reason for my 4 star review, is the checkout. It actually is the best and worst part. The checkout is super speedy- I've had a cartload of food checked out in under five minutes but this is because they don't bag anything for you. So great in terms of efficiency, but it sucks to have to bag all of your stuff. Furthermore, you need to bring your own bags or get charged for pastic/ paper bags. Now I know this is how they keep costs down, don't have baggers so that they don't have to pay as many employees and have less expenses on buying bags, but someone reading this review should know what they are in for before going to aldis. To sum, I highly recommend this store! Well maintained, great prices, and workers are quick and helpful. Only downsides are the lack of bags and baggers to bag your groceries (haha), which actually makes you bring your own bags. Which means you are saving the environment. Which is cool. Last thing: debit card, cash/ check accepted. No credit cards. read more
