11/25/24 - Great prices on 2 sale items. Jumbo eggs for $2.99/dozen & 1 lb butter for $2.99. You might as well get them while they're on sale instead of paying full price

This is the go to place From Wisconsin for Italian groceries! Wish they'd put one in Milwaukee . Prices going up but still great selections and products like no where else !

Wow what a huge gem in Chicago! Fresh fruit and veges and they wash them so they are clean. They have international foods like Lithuanian and Polish and Asian items along with fresh cheeses and meat and fish. They have many Italian items imported from Italy and they also sell Italian cookies. I love this market. It's clean, smells of fresh food and bread and there is so much here you could be here for hours. Great part of the neighborhood.

A brand new location in the heart of Norridge and Harwood Heights! Great looking store with fresh produce, deli, sushi bar, coffee, fresh juice, sandwiches, lots of pastries, and hot food. Such a great variety and reasonable prices. The staff was so attentive and they have self service checkouts for 15 items or less. Today was the first day they are officially open, and the pastries are delicious! The fresh juice is delicious, and the hot food bar has such a great variety.

    Cake ordered

Avoid placing cake orders at Caputo's. I ordered a marble cake with fresh strawberries and whipped creme. The cake I got had no strawberries and hardly any chocolate cake. I personally think Jewel cakes are tastier and made to your specifications. I haven't had any issues ordering at Jewel's.

Nice big new store (local chain) with wide isles. The staff is friendly and helpful. As with all stores, shop the sales and stock up. This will be a regular grocery store for us.

We just bought some peanut butter cookies got home and saw they exspire in 3 days. I think i will stick to marionos. This place is like Tonys

I've always loved this chain but recently had their Asiago bagels from the bakery section. Wow! They are some of the best I've had.

I don't know why the meats at Joseph's are better than that at any grocery store.....but they are. We don't eat too much red meat but when we do, we get it at Joseph's. Always a smile and willingness to cut what we want the way we want it. Always a dinner delight.

Had I ordered from the place I usually have, I would have had to pay a shipping fee of $35 whether I had it shipped to my home or to the business. I hadn't heard of Joseph's before but decided to take a chance. I placed my order by phone the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and they took it with no problem, no extra charges; they also took the bone out for me. I was a bit nervous just because I hadn't tried this place before, and if there was a problem there wouldn't be much chance to fix it or easily switch gears. But I needn't have worried. While it would be helpful if they decided whether they were going to use numbers or just a line (I pulled a number upon entering, but they weren't advancing the numbers and instead just taking people who said they were next), I was in and out within ten minutes. The employees were helpful. Like many butchers, they have more than just the meat but it's not a grocery store (though I found I could have gotten the baguette that I made a separate stop to procure). The turkey breast I bought was at least half of what it would have cost at the place I've used in the past. With that kind of savings, paying their 4% credit card fee was fine by me (pay cash to save yourself the fee). Parking is easy; it's Dunning, not Lake View. Will definitely come back, possibly sooner than later since I've been wanting to try making a pot roast and I expect they'd have the right cut of beef for that. I won't bother with the butcher I used to go to with this one so nearby.

Family owned and like many others have stated, they treat you like family. Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted by a butcher who was more than helpful and kind. My husband and I are on a new health journey so I've often times asked MANY questions and he was patient and helpful with every answer. Even with him knowing I didn't have cash and had to leave and come back. Needed some quality burgers and brats for a friend's grilling birthday bash. Picked up beer brats upon recommendation (and a crowd favorite), Mediterranean turkey burgers (super good and I enjoyed them more than my husband did if I'm to be honest), prime rib burgers (currently vacuum sealed in the freezer), skin on hot dogs (best ever), cheddar and jalapeño burger (another fave!), and maybe a couple others I can't recall. Everything so far- fresh and from what I've frozen, has been delicious. We typically shop at Paulina Market so it's been wonderful to find a shop closer at the same level (in our opinion). It is pricey as some have stated but you're paying for what you get. They have an amazing selection of prepared foods as well. Worth stopping in for! Can't wait to restock.

I have written about three checks in the last 20 years but I also rarely carry cash, so it's not a place I'll get to often. But the staff were friendly and I would return if I had cash in hand. As soon as I walked in, I saw so many goodies I knew I was taking home. They had a very well curated selection of fancy condiments from small makers, rare ingredients, and the highest quality version of many every day foods! Everyone behind the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had to try one of their sandwiches and got the salmon po boy at their recommendation. It was really well seasoned and super fresh with a very generous slice of fish on it. Definitely coming back for another one next time I'm in the area! Thank you so much for great service and products!

Carnivore in Oak Park…read more This is a butcher shop and fish market that also sells sandwiches I can't really decide if the old time decor is by design or if the place is really needing an upgrade. I actually think it's the latter. It's a lot smaller than I imagined with very limited seating. We went here for the grilled salmon sandwich. We had seen many online reviews saying it is amazing. They make the sandwiches right in front of you, so you know that they are fresh. We took our sandwiches to go and by the time we got them home , they were cold. The fries traveled well, but again they were also cold bu the time we got home. The grilled salmon sandwiches were very good, but not great , and I really would have loved to have eaten it warm. Prices are on the high side for the butcher meats. But I guess you should expect that since they are an artisanal butcher. I did not like the look of some of the meats in the cases. Would we go back? Maybe to try the Bacon Burger. But we would definitely recommend eating your food in the butcher shop and not taking it to go. I have just found out that that are moving into Carnival Grocery in Oak Park.
