Well I think I need to change my profile to Shopping Cart reviewer as this is another review of a shopping cart or in Aldi's case - lacks of a shopping cart. Went to the cart area with my quarter to get a cart. There are two rows so the first one Inn n out the quarter in and tried to pull the cart back. Looked like someone had jammed it into the other carts so I couldn't pull it out. Took my quarter out and went to the adjacent row and tried to pull that one out. Same thing, the cart was jammed in with the seat area flipped up just enough that it was catching on the ones behind it. Went back to the first one and tried to reach in to move the piece son it would release but to no avail. So went inside cart-less. So they didn't have the items we were looking for so I guess I didn't need a cart after all. Was in a hurry, otherwise I would have talked to an associate about the cart issue. read more

Food and service were wonderful. Ambiance is a matter of opinion. This past week I went to Aldis for the first time and it was a real eye opener. The prices were so much better than where I normally shop, which is Stop&Shop. This will be my go to store! read more

The place was relatively clean and organized. It was a weekday and it was busy. I was able to find everything easy as I know my way around. They also always have great price. However produce quality is poor. I grabbed a bunch of cilantro and lots of it was going bad and same with scallions. It was hard to find a bag that looked good. My biggest complaint is to bring more staff for check out. One person for large purchases is not enough. The self-check out units are only great for smaller purchases as theirs no space for bagging and scanning at the same time. read more

I can't believe that this store does not have better reviews! I love shopping here. The quality of produce, meat, and dairy is great for the price. The lines can be long, but move quickly and now they have self checkout. It is my go to place when shopping on a budget. read more

We just enjoy Aldi. This one didn't disappoint in fact the produce and meat were better than we have seen in other area Aldi markets. The bagged honey crisp apples we very good and sold at a great price. The place was crowded having just opened a weak before our visit. It'll be interesting to see how this store is managed and how busy it will be in the months to come. My guess is very, very busy! Groton CT needed this store. I hear Waterford CT will have an Aldi soon. read more

I drive 30 minutes to come here! Great prices! Love how you have to pay a quarter for the carriage and you get it back when you return the carriage. So then there's not carriages all over the parking lot! read more

The Groton Store constantly violates OSHA safety rules by parking hand pallet trucks in the middle of the aisles where we as customers are supposed to shop. I had an employee with green hair throw an empty box at me and then continue to insult me while I removed two empty boxes from the top of the deep freezers. Her box hit my foot. Aldi's just delivered groceries, left on neighbor's steps. They came home to find 3 bags (including fresh hamburg, etc). No idea where bags were supposed to be delivered, no name/address on receipt. He tried all the neighbors and no one requested delivery. Store's tel # unlisted, can't reach the Groton store. Absolutely unacceptable! Delivery person should have tried knocking on door or ringing bell to make sure they were at correct address. read more

I could never be thankful enough to this Aldis, lost my wallet because it fell out as I was running back to the car and thankfully somebody was kind enough to turn it in and the manager messaged me on Facebook. Anybody who's ever lost a wallet knows how much of a headache it is trying to go through and get new cards, IDs and such so I can't say thank you enough!!! read more

Aldis is Fantastic!!! For those that complain about out of stock it is a first-come-first-serve don't give rain checks because prices are so low most products are organic and of simple ingredients no chemicals superior quality the produce is great the people that work there are a joy to be around they work hard and have fantastic personalities Aldis has four majors grocery stores in the area and people are complaining about out of stock that's because all these is so great so get there when the sale starts they try to restock the shelves as fast as humanely possible. Very disappointed with first experience at this store. They just opened less than a week ago, and nothing was in stock. Many shelves and meat section empty. Sure, the prices are low, but this will not be my regular store if they can't even stock their shelves. Not impressed. But the pizza was good - had to settle for a meat thing, because all of the plain cheese were out of stock. Oh, and BRING A QUARTER for the cart - they need a sign explaining how the carts work, people were standing there trying to pull the carts apart, not realizing they needed a quarter. read more

I love this Aldi! It's much nicer than the one in Lisbon and Westerly. The employees almost always say hi and the check out is efficient and friendly. When they first opened, they were out of bread one day that I came but it wasn't a big deal because I figured they were getting used to being open or maybe the truck for the week hadn't come yet. Love that I can get in and out of the grocery store with my toddler in under 30 minutes! read more

Aldi is incredible. I was a little worried about the brands at first. But once I got home and tried them, all worries were gone! If you're a family who has to budget like we TRY to, Aldi's is the spot! A full carriage that would have cost $300 at big Y or Stop & Shop cost $70 at Aldi's!!! The tortilla chips smell like chemicals. The avocados never ripened and tasted extremely weird. Many items are inedible.

so cool having an aldis close by. of course the navy families wiped out 70% of the inventory the first week of business.. cant give a bad review -we watched hoarders buying cart loads of frozen pizzas lol. give them a few weeks to boost up supply and employees im sure theyll be a great store soon. the bag your own stuff and return your own carts is a genius system to keep the prices low. i wish all stores did the cart thing! i didnt need a sign to figure them out.. read more

True, the produce does not last as long as at other grocery stores, but if you eat all you buy weekly then it's the best prices in town! Selection is less than at other larger grocery stores too, but I find that helps me save money too so I can't get more than the essentials. Also, there are a number of specialty products that are available for limited times each year, so if I want to splurge I get some of those! Love the truffle chips whenever they're in stock. Love the hummus every week. read more
