    Salmon Power Bowl
    Francis P.

I was so excited to have a "salmon power bowl", the salmon was mostly fatty skin it was inedible and disgusting. I should have purchased salmon at the seafood shop, given them the $17 and cooked a much greater quantity of fish myself.

If you're in the area and looking for a quick breakfast, lunch, snack, or treat--this is the place to stop. They have lots of yummy options: sandwiches, muffins, bagels, pies, breads, sauces, jams, cookies, cakes, brownies, cheeses, salads, drinks, nuts, snacks, specialty crackers, etc. It's a fun and cute and cozy place to browse around for items to fill your belly, along with some cute little gifts as well. You'll find some unique items like sesame honey brittle and buffalo chicken pretzels pieces. Everything we tried here was delicious and we can't wait to head back. I do wish we went earlier as some of the bakery items were sold out. But not bad for noon on a Saturday. Overall, a friendly experience and we won't hesitate to pop back soon.

Easy to sit for hours in the sunroom or on the rooftop deck, take in the sun and watch the birds and boat activity on the Mystic River. It's hard to find rentals with access to a deep water dock. And this dock is perfect. My husband went out fishing on his boat nearly every day. And when he came home with flounder, we cooked up a great meal in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Plenty of restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking though. Glori and Chuck are also wonderful hosts and very thoughtful and responsive. Can't say enough good things about them.

We were lucky enough to enjoy incredible late summer/early fall weather for the length of our stay. But I would gladly stay there in rainy or snowy weather. My husband and I most enjoyed the sunsets and our two boys loved the HUGE level yard. The home is located on the small Mason's Island, but less than 2 miles from adorable downtown Mystic and many other destinations/conveniences. We have already booked a return stay and are so looking forward to it.

There were a lot of intriguing options to choose from. I had the chilaquiles ($15) and a Cacio Pepe doughnut ($4). The chilaquiles had corn tortilla chips, salsa Verde, salsa Macha, cotija, white onion, cilantro, and a fried egg. The chips appeared to be homemade, and they were tremendous along with the salsa Verde and Macha. There was a nice kick to the salsas and a perfect crunch from the chips. However, it just felt like the dish was mostly chips. I felt like more toppings could be added or an additional egg. The fried egg was also a little overcooked, guess when ordering, we could have specified how we wanted it to be cooked. The doughnut was okay. The sourdough base was very solid, but essentially just a lot of cheese on top. I was not sure what to expect regarding this type of doughnut, but this was the least optimal choice. Will I go back? I would.

First, Emily was phenomenal. From taking care of the kids to tour-guiding us through the menu, she felt like a warm hug when we needed one most on a day with a headache. This place is where a greasy spoon meets Grandma's kitchen, with a talented chef working a flattop that's been seasoned by years of flavor. The Eggs Benedict? A must-order. 12/10. "Oh boys." And who doesn't love a mimosa bar? It's absolutely worth the wait. Get there early if you can. If you do end up waiting, you're sitting in an awesome marina. Take the boys to check out the million-dollar fishing boats--they'll love every minute of it. #NoBadDays

They do not take reservations, so it's possible you'll be waiting for a while. You may also wait for a while when you're sitting because I felt ignored most of my visit. I had a crab and asparagus Benedict and pierogies. I will grant that the Benedict was well done. Poached egg was perfectly runny and the hollandaise had a wonderful light flavor. The pierogies and the potato hash, however, were pedestrian at best and I didn't eat most of the potatoes as a result. The menu has impressive range you wouldn't find at most places, but I wasn't excited by most of my meal so I'm left with thinking I might come back here but I'd never say this is a place you have to go to.
