We decided to have lunch at the Original Tamale joint and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was also great and the food options were plentiful. There's also a little sauce bar to have with your food on site. No lids for the sauce cups provided at the bar. There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with music playing to add to the atmosphere's enjoyment. I got quesadillas, tacos and tamales...all were great!

There were local vendors selling food to a pediatric dentistry giving out goodie bags to kids. You had to register online prior to the event on order to obtain a ticket for a free Pumpkin. Outside were food trucks for those who needed to wash down the beer. It's family friendly, animal friendly and group friendly. They had tables and chairs for the patrons and free water. Now, I can't forget the live music. It was great. The gentleman singing played some good blues music.

I pretty much always get the same thing, which is an elote in a cup with everything on it and extra chil. It comes with the corn cheese, and chile! I honestly can't remember if it has crema since they prepare it inside the trailer where you can see, but I do know it's delicious! The service isn't slow but it also takes a little bit since it seems they make everything fresh. The staff is friendly enough lol. Ambiance is chill and it seems to have steady traffic, and it definitely can get busy quickly. Also, I believe the preferred payment method is Zelle! Although it was a bit cold and windy out, it was still a good time. I was able to purchase coffee from the coffee truck, Argentinian empanadas, and a goat milk soap. Jonathon showed us to each vendor and described what each tent had to offer, how long the market had been around. The cooking demo was great. Chef Jazzy explained her background, being trained at the Culinary Institute of America. She demonstrated how to properly cut a pineapple, grill it, to bring out its natural sweetness. The king trumpet mushrooms were an alternative vegetarian to "scallops", everything prepared was delicious! This was such a great idea to use produce and seafood sourced from the market. I actually think I enjoy Houston's Chinatown better than the ones in California like SF or LA. Linda's Tropical Fruits is not only a little store where you can get produce and groceries/snacks, but also in the back, they have the drinks and acai bowls! I ended up getting the Super Fruit Slushy, which came with red and white dragon fruit, soursop, Thai banana, and sugar cane juice. It was so delicious and really refreshing! If I got the chance to come back, I would definitely want to try another one of their smoothies and try their acai bowls since those looked so amazing and aesthetic! Definitely a hidden gem :)

However their other drinks are just as tasty. Some can agree the prices are a bit higher than your average Asian market prices for fruits and goods, but these are special imported/seasonal items. Come and grab yourself a sweet treat or a refreshing drink!
