They are growing with organic practices and are being certified currently. We were a part of the 2009 season which was their first as a CSA, and we were very impressed. The variety of produce we received was beyond our expectation. We got to try a lot of things we hadn't tried and some things we hadn't ever heard of before! Very educational. For their first year operating as a CSA, they really ran everything smoothly. The 2010 season and beyond is looking really exciting too with a lot of upgrades to information available on the website about the produce, etc., and even more variety in the produce from what I hear. From the comparisons we did, the pricing is a much better deal for what you get than with some other local CSA programs. We very highly recommend The Farm of Minnesota.

I can't speak for children's fun as this was an adults only party but we sure did have fun like we were kids again! They offer feed bags to feed the animals at just $1 a bag, apple canons, hay rides through the orchard and a jumping pillow! We were able to enjoy a warm bonfire too! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating of our large group! Highly recommend this orchard for hosting events and can't wait to return to check out their day time activities!

They have a great little gift store with lots of local made treats and pre bagged apples. You can also pick your own. We did the wagon ride and corn maze. Wagon ride was fun. Corn maze was a bit of a dud, not super well kept and we were in and out of there in about 5 minutes. They also had some goats you could feed, a jumping pad and a pumpkin patch. There was also some outdoor seating and some live music which was nice. There is a little parking right in front and then some more on the side.

The shop is interesting and serves up a lot of variety of apple products. While you browse, get a glass of wine and walk around. Definitely get out to the grounds surrounding the barn. The winery next door always have fun events going like a live band outdoor and a food truck. There is a petting zoo outside, a few interesting sculptures worth checking out and a caricaturist. We strolled through the apple orchard down the street from the barn. If you are too lazy to walk, they operate tractors also. You can either buy your apples at the store or choose the pick your own apple bag option. There were Haralsons, Fireside and Honeycrisp apples when I was there. It's so much fun to see those red apples hanging in the trees while enjoying the cool breeze and crisp air. The rolling hills in this area is breath taking. It's really a beautiful part of MN that's worth checking out.

Not only is it an orchard but also a vineyard. I'm not as familiar with Minnesotan wines so I was a little skeptical but honestly I was very impressed by the crisp and woody taste of one of their reds. Not only that but they had a live band playing fun music. They allowed doggos so it was fun to walk around and see the beautiful fall colors with the pooch. Plus it was very family friendly so there were also some cute kids enjoying hay rides! They had what appeared to be a vendor selling unique pizzas but also the best soft pretzels I've ever had in my life with REAL gouda cheese for dipping. Great spot to check out in the fall, great for group gatherings/parties, would come back next year (although may call about pumpkins beforehand).

Would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't been for the owners grandkid who was literally allowed to run rampant. Everyone was staring as he smashed carts, slammed stuff into the ground, and ran around yelling. The teenage staff laughed and said there was nothing they could do but they agreed it was a problem. I finally asked to speak with the owner (grandma) who didn't seem to take it seriously at all. Customers were shocked and gossiping about it. Various crops or types come and go; just know it is all delicious, well worth drive. Now the asparagus is almost done. Come early as it sells out right away in the morning. Soon they told me the raspberry crop will be ready. End of July or so. Great Strawberry smell as soon as you drive in. Wonderful fresh strawberry smell in your car ride home. Easy drive out here. Why 2 stars? Our…read morefamily recently visited Lorence's Berry Farm for strawberry picking and had mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the strawberries were abundant, vibrant, juicy, and very easy to pick. We had three generations together for a fun family outing, including my 4-month-old and 1-year-old granddaughters, and we were excited to spend time outdoors making memories. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by an interaction with an older gentleman who appears to have worked there for quite some time. After a two-hour drive, I briefly pulled over to speak with my daughters and figure out where we should park before unloading the children and heading to the fields. We were apparently stopped in an area where parking was not allowed, although there was no sign indicating that. Rather than approaching us politely, he immediately began yelling. I explained that we were simply trying to get a game plan together and that a softer approach would have been appreciated. Instead of de-escalating the situation, he continued to yell as I drove away to find a proper parking spot. What was most disappointing was that he then directed his yelling toward my daughters while they were standing with my granddaughters. The commotion upset my 1-year-old granddaughter to the point that she started crying, while my infant granddaughter and daughter looked on. Later, I shared my experience with another employee, who apologized for the earlier behavior. However, while we were in line paying, we witnessed the same gentleman confront another visitor who had parked in the area because she could not find handicap-accessible parking. He berated her, refused to provide his name when asked, and the interaction became so uncomfortable that she began recording the encounter on her phone. Ironically, a short while later, the very same gentleman approached me and apologized for his actions earlier. While I appreciated the gesture, he immediately followed it by explaining that "it's a stressful thing," which felt more like a justification for his behavior than a sincere acknowledgment of how his actions affected visitors. The strawberries were wonderful, and the farm itself has the potential to be a great family destination. The fruit quality and ease of picking made for an enjoyable outing, but customer service and the way guests are treated matter just as much as the product. Unfortunately, one employee's repeated behavior toward multiple customers significantly detracted from what otherwise could have been a very positive family experience.
