I bought two quarts of strawberries in June and thought I would get the larger ones but they were not very sweet. Wish I would have purchased the smaller ones. Also bought pound cake that Verhage Farms makes and it was very good The vegetables and fruit are a little pricey and I wont buy the fruit that stays outside in the sun until sold. They are way too ripe. I always go back to this place and try to find something else to try. Glad it is near by.

They are closed for winter, obviously. But when they reopen in spring, here's what to expect: * Enormous tubs of whatever is in season, parked right out front of their doors * Inside shopping for things that need refrigeration (cider!), including lovely bags of spring greens that we always get, and veggies that don't need to be out in the open air * Sort of odd parking. The handicap parking is far away for me. There are two close spots to the right of the doors, and that is not a difficult walk * SO MANY KINDS of everything: apples, squash, pumpkins, well, you know Michigan harvests. You'll find all that and more here. * In the summer, LOVELY jalapenos that we stock up on and freeze for winter *Reasonable prices Tip: Weekends are busy and crowded. If you're looking for fresh fruits and veggies, but someone else you're with just won't have any of those, rest assured they'll have a few sugary goods to select from as well. There's also a playground for small children on the backside of the market, which makes it easy to bring the family! This location is about 1/3 the size of the Bank St. market (from what I've been told) which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but may not be what some new folks might expect. The only downside to a smaller market is that there are fewer price points to select from for your produce. Other than that it's a great place!

The fields are beautiful, well maintained, and clearly marked. My kids gain an appreciation for farming and we all learn so much about sustainable practices and how to grow and prepare different vegetables. We only get our summer veggies and fresh flowers from here and look forward to it every year. I can't recommend it enough!

I had fun looking around at all the different items - they specialize in natural and organic products and have something for everyone, whether you're vegan, gluten free, keto, etc. They stock lots of supplements, vitamins, health and beauty products, produce, snacks, even beer and wine. I was asked if I needed help finding anything, but at that point I was still just browsing. I did eventually need to ask for help finding the psyllium husk, and the employee led me right to the section I needed (of course I had walked right by it at least twice). The snack aisle of any grocery store is my favorite, so I had to check it out. I didn't end up buying anything there, but I did find a flavor of sparkling water that I'd been looking for - and it was on sale! The aisles are still a little tight, but it wasn't too crowded when I was there. I really love this locally owned store and always enjoy my visits!
