After a short tractor ride to the fields, we started with the raspberries and were able to fill our container in about 20 minutes. We then moved on to the strawberry fields. After spending an hour and a half in blistering heat, I was only able to fill about one-quarter of the container because there were virtually no strawberries available. Everyone picking alongside us seemed equally disappointed and frustrated that containers were being sold despite the lack of fruit in the fields. What made the experience even more frustrating was the no-refund policy, which meant we were out the money regardless of the poor conditions. I understand that crop availability can vary, but customers should be informed when fields are nearly picked over or offered a refund or alternative. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this place to others.

The woman working there was super nice and friendly. There's a few picnic tables if you want to bring a lunch to take a break. But my sadness was quickly laid to rest because the new owners are just as enthusiastic about the farm and their produce as the previous owners. What do I mean by unique? Well, this time I found long bean which is commonly utilized in southeast Asian cuisine. I love adding it to many different types of salads. I simply wash it and cut it up and add it raw. Its delicious and healthy and once again I have never seen this at a mid west farm stand. This farm also produces very good honey. The property is expensive and the staff was welcoming and told us where to go for the best batch at that time. Not all berries ripen at the same time. I went the weekend of July 4th and it was rather tame around 9am when I arrived. (No queue). But after finishing the pick, it was quite long queue as they weigh. Credit card is extra 3% fee. If you bring your own container to bring home it'll be cheaper as you use their white buckets to pick and weigh, but you need a container to take home. They do sell 5lb and 10lb boxes to take home for a nominal fee (I think it was $1-2)
