I have driven past this place 100 times or more, I've always wanted to stop. There was plenty of room in their parking lot today and I stopped in cash in my pocket ready to buy. The bag boy from upfront met me as I made my order at the meat counter, telling me I needed to leave because trucks weren't allowed in their parking lot. The sign says no truck parking, as a truck driver that means no overnight parking. What it means at Eastside is we don't want businesses from truckers. We will ask them to leave while they are shopping with no exceptions. I felt the need to call back and tell the manager/owner/boss why I was disappointed that I was forced to leave before I spent my money. He proceeded to cut me off when I started to explain telling me that he had been in business 35 years and the loss of truck drivers will not break his bank. I was hoping to build a long-term relationship with a locally own business by voting with my dollars. My dollars will now be saved and spent elsewhere. Sorry, I can't give a review on the quality of food because I was not allowed to purchasing anything. read more

East Side is a small grocery store. It also has a nice little produce section with very reasonable prices. The meat counter is the star of the store. Yes the meat is pricier but so worth it! Granted my hubby knows how to cook steaks but the meat flavor is amazing and tender. The porterhouse was huge. And the tenderloin side is absolutely the most delicious tenderloin I have ever had! The ribeye, also amazing! Friendly service. We will be back for sure. They are open 7 days a week. read more

We were just passing through and happened to stop here for a snack and a bathroom break. The team here is super friendly and kind and though the store isn't huge, there was a nice selection of snacks. What I loved is that they didn't get mean even though we can in right at closing. As an over the road truck driver I like to try and buy fresh food that I can have in my truck and prepare and try and keep a healthy lifestyle. I have passed by Eastside, fresh meat and produce mini mini mini times. Today I stopped to try and get some steaks and some other meats that I can cook on my little grill and by the time I walked past the end of my trailer a person came outside and told me I couldn't park there. I said not even while I'm spending money? He stated yes there's no truck parking in any way shape or form. A lot of places don't want trucks to park overnight. I get that in someways, but my truck is actually what brings fresh meat to half the country. I pull a reefer trailer and pull meets from all over and deliver them to area that want it. Yet simple truck driver Can't park in Shop the products that he delivers. It seems kind of asinine to me but if they don't want the hundred dollars or so that I was going to spend on meat they can kiss my ass. I'm kind of pissed off. Hands down the best meats ever! My obnoxious friend today requested a fresh, super lean cut of filets today and boy did they deliver! I was embarrassed at the store but they took it in stride. I've always bought the bacon. It's the best. It reminds me of Nueskes depending on the cut thickness as it sometimes varies. The stuffed chicken breasts are great if you just want to pop something in the oven and the ground beef makes killer burgers. Oh and they carry Ziyad food products which I love! What happened to this meat market? I use to love this place. Even though the meat is a little pricey I didn't mind because they cut it exactly as I asked and wer so friendly. The butchers were all so nice and accommodating but since covid I hadn't been back since recently and it seems to have new people and a new manager who I'm not sure what his name is but he's an older man with sort of pepper color wavy longer hair and when he speaks he acts like your bothering him and when you ask for something he doesn't really listen but just cuts it and does what he wants not what you want. The first time he did this I ask my meat he was rude but I thought ok I'll give this place another chance but it happened again today and after spending $40 ti $50 each trip I've decided that I need to take my business someplace else. What happened to the nice tall man with dark hair and the nice black man who use to work there? I'm so disappointed. read more

I love this little grocery store that has a real butcher counter in the back of the store. Fresh cut meats of all varieties, sausages, brats, smoked pork chops, etc! The staff is super friendly and happy to help. You can also find odds and ends that you may not see at your usual grocery store like chittlins, rib tips and specialty small batch seasonings and rubs. read more

Everyone behind the meat counter was super friendly and helpful. They explained everything about the meats- even recommended how to cook the 4 cheese chicken wrapped in bacon (That turned out fantastic!!) Very reasonably priced. THE BEST MEAT our family has ever tasted anywhere!! We have tried the steaks, ground beef, chicken, brats & Italian sausage so far. Everything has been excellent!! The employees throughout the store/cashiers were very friendly, as well. It's a 40 minute drive for us, but totally worth the drive. A+++ read more

This small, family owned and run grocery has, hands down the best meat counter in the area. I would give them five stars but they lack a little bit in the produce department and since it isn't just a butcher, I need to take that in to consideration. Their meat counter is the best around, it's fresh meat, high quality and very reasonably priced. It's another throwback, that hasn't changed much over the past thirty years and you just get a real nice feeling when working with these guys. Mike and his crew of butchers do an excellent job, I will continue to buy from them and encourage anyone who enjoys good, fresh cuts, to go check them out. Don't be put off by the small size of the shop or it's location. The meat department is very clean and run properly. BTW, they can special order cuts too. One of the absolute best pieces of lamb I got was from them, it was basically the entire lamb from right behind the two front legs, all the way back. I had to do some butchering which I enjoy and they surely would have if I asked. Well this was seriously FRESH and EXCELLENT lamb. Man was it good! read more

Small grocery on the side of the road boasts a medium sized, but good quality meat counter. Beer and wine, but nothing fancy. Produce selection could be better. I live around the corner from East Side and any bbq we have we hit here first. Never ever had an issue with the meat or any employee here. Plus they have the best pickles in a jar at the register! Great store when you need just a few items,for the east side of MC, than traveling to the BIG stores. Their meat selection is excellent, love the smoked pork chops and frech cut bacon. Their prices are good for a small market, and their sales are sometimes better than the big stores. And the fresh sliced deli is a better value than anywhere around. They also process deer and you can get whole lamb and pig for BBQ. The owner Mike, also supports the community with donations to good causes. read more

The meat that they cut will taste like Pine Sol, because they slather it all over their tables and equipment. When we called to complain they were very rude as well. Don't waste your money unless you enjoy the taste of pine and antiseptic. Gross! read more
