Aisles are always blocked but probably the most irritating is a cashier named Jessica. Probably the most rudest person anyone could ever have to deal with. Apparently she guards shopping carts like her career depends on it. Anyhow I paid for a few items after a long work day and was told my cart has to stay in the store. Seriously, do you not see everything I just bought?? I look around and see others taking their items to their cars but apparently I must be special. Like seriously, I guess she thinks I'm gonna ride the shopping cart home or something. Anyhow, I didn't say anything except ask why I can't take my groceries to my car and got a snarky response. Still no reaction from me, I just ask for the manager's name and sent a message to corporate. Oh and btw, apparently asking for management was a trigger word but I just left and paid no mind. I've heard about this store before from my neighbors and coworkers and even heard about this rude cashier before but never thought I'd deal with her myself. Just left Aldi in Laveen and it's turning into a mini Walmart. Products that shouldn't be in there being less health conscious AND stereotypical "Walmart" people over crowding. Oh how I love Aldi! From the seasonal foods finds to the gourmet foods and the isle of shame, I am like a kid in a candy store. I love going in to see what unique finds they have, all while snagging a great deal. Tonight I fell a bit disappointed as we made the trip in for produce, to find it was little to none. The produce and meat sections were nearly empty with very little options. Some fruits were in bad shape and easy to pass. We did find a few items but sadly half of my list is remaining as the stock was not available. We did get lots of great snacks, some specialty cheeses, canned goods and a few Christmas presents for my little one. I do understand it's the holidays and many places are understaffed so I shrugged it off and I'll surely be back in a week or two. Do make sure to bring a quarter for your shopping cart and reusable bags, as they do not provide them free. You may purchase them if needed. The cool thing about Aldi is the fact that they have some of the best prices hands down! The down side however is depending on when you do your shopping you may or may not find what you are looking for. I don't think things get restocked daily, but I could be off. Variety is definitely limited compared to a regular grocery store. And the service is alright, nothing out of the ordinary. read more

TIPS for newbies: - Dont forget your quarter for a cart, you put it in the red slot, get it back when done. - Dont forget your bags or boxes from home or pay 10 cents for bags (about knee height at the registers). - The cashiers have a method that moves customers in/out quickly and efficiently (explaining this due to 2 negative reviews about angry bagging). You give your cart, they scan your things into an empty one, they swing your full cart out the way and on to using your now empty cart for the next customer, and it moves SUPER fast. As a busy mom w 1000 errands I appreciate the efficiency because I usually dread slow grocery checkout lines. - If you want to bag, you go to the long, brown table and bag or rearrange your groceries in your boxes however you see fit. I love doing my own bagging bc frozen goes w cold/frozen, cans together and so on. Aldi's has Walmart prices with the quality being more like Sprouts! Many organic items. Some of our faves below. - many diff pasta sauces incl low carb - chocolate french bread loaf (amazing) - seasoned quarter chicken legs (only 3 for $4) - all kinds of dips incl guac, various hummus - mini spicy salami - keto/healthy fit sliced bread - cheap fresh fruits/veggies - seasoned taco meats - cold brew coffee - frozen section stuff for the kids Definitely worth a try if you're near this new one. read more

Love Aldi! Don't like the checkout process at the register. The ladies throw the groceries in the basket and pay no attention. They'll throw heavy stuff on top of soft food. This last time, I told the young lady that she was crushing the soft food and she gives me a dirty look and didn't even apologize. One time, my blueberries were crushed which opened the container and my blueberries fell in the parking lot. With the price of groceries these days, you would think the workers would be more careful. There is a young man who works there and he doesn't crush the softer food. read more

I love Aldi's and have ever since I encountered one in rural IL several years ago. I was very surprised when they started opening stores in AZ. This location is rather easy to get in and out of - plenty of parking. I never bother with a shopping cart, usually bringing my own bags or grabbing a small basket. This helps me from over buying or impulse buying, but usually just winds up with me lugging around more than I can handle! They layout inside is good and since it's new, relatively clean and orderly. Checking out can be a hassle since they seem short staffed and the staff isn't particularly the friendliest. They ring you up, toss the items in the cart next to them, and move on. I am more than capable of bagging my own stuff, and try to bag as they ring up, but still they gotta go fast. Not sure if they are docked or dinged for time, which would make sense. Otherwise, I like the store and enjoy the products and prices. read more

Prices are pretty good, but service is not. This was my first time to Aldi, and I was unfamiliar with their way of doing things at the register. Instead of being helpful, the cashier made an example out of us by berating us for "not knowing what we are doing" in front of the rest of the customers. Pretty much the same experience as some other reviewers have noted. I get that Aldi has their own way of doing things and that's fine. But the store only opened a few months ago so you're going to have a lot of newbies who might need a little training on the Aldi way. What you don't do is make your new customers feel stupid and unwanted. read more

Horrible Cashier watch out for Jasmine she was rolling her eyes like we are bothering her. I wasn't even done paying and she grabs my cart and pushes it all crazy away from her.Then processed to hit it with another cart. All while my baby is in the cart. So nice to have a new grocery store in Laveen! ALDI feels like a combination of Trader Joe's, Costco, and Safeway. There are some unique food items, reasonably priced home goods and good quality produce. I managed to get raspberries for 85 cents, and avocados for 55 cents - talk about a great deal! For those not familiar with ALDI be sure to bring a quarter, it is a deposit to rent a cart - don't worry you get it back, and this is great for Laveen since the carts ar other local stores all end up in the surrounding neighborhoods. You'll also want to bring reusable bags - if you don't, you can buy paper bags for 11 cents. The cashiers sit rather than stand, which I love! Gotta appreciate a company that takes care of their employees. You also bag your own groceries, so the cashier will scan and place everything back into your cart and then there is a counter space after checkout where you can go and bag your items. I like this concept because I prefer to have my groceries bagged in a certain way. The store is new, so it is clean and in good condition, I just hope it stays this way. Definitely check it out, but be prepared - it definitely is different than other stores as far as the "process" goes. read more

Store is clean and affordable but customer service, HORRIBLE! The cashier tonight was very rude. I don't know what her name was because I was so upset but she was the only one at the register. She was heavy set, Purple hair and had glasses. I bought a bag, she proceeded to throw my groceries in a cart on top of the bag and then told me I couldn't push the cart to the side to pack my groceries. Then I told her that made no sense. Why not just put the groceries into my bag while it's there then, if we can't use the cart afterwards? She rolled her eyes...very professional. When I paid, she yanked the cash out of my hand and when she gave me my change, smacked it into my hand and proceeded to ring up the next people in line. And then stared at me rudely while I grabbed my stuff from the cart, giving me no time to move. Believe me it took alot to keep my mouth shut. The ONLY reason I didn't say anything to her about her unprofessional, snotty attitude was because I had my son with me and it wasn't worth it but a bad review is. This was our first time there. WILL NOT GO BACK. I'd rather pay more than deal with such crappy customer service. read more

My mother & I had the opportunity to try out this store for the very 1st time on 1/25/22. The store itself is very clean & has somewhat of a variety. However the customer service received from the only cashier on duty named "Jennifer" was extremely disappointing. Jennifer was rude & flat out a little over zealous about her position as a cashier. Given the fact it was our 1st time, we were unfamiliar with the bagging "rules". We chose to use our own bags & in turn was treated with quite a bit of unwarranted hostility by Jennifer?! She began throwing my items in another cart then refused to allow me to move the cart so that I could bag my items?? She then started ringing up another customer (of whom she also snapped at for asking about the bagging process) & slammed their groceries right on top of mine!! After she almost broke my nail with the groceries, I let her know that her conduct was not only inappropriate but also completely unacceptable. Instead of apologizing, Jennifer began to brag to other customers that she doesn't "put up with stuff" from people no matter WHO they are?! I responded by stating that I would be following up with a complaint to the store mgr, but thought her performance was also worthy of a social media review. Not a good look for a grand opening. My 68 year old Mother & i will NOT be back thx to her service. If you choose to shop here, put on some thick skin in case JENNIFER is on duty!! She's rude, unpleasant, unprofessional & probably a step away from being asked to step down hopefully!! read more
