Don't ever buy fish from this market. Every time I bought fish from here, there was always a problem. Rotten fish.

Drove a long way to check out this place, don't think I will go back. Limited selection and it seemed unorganized.

This store is primarily mismanaged. I hear through conversations management in public spaces that they are loosing business yet they make people not want to come there by cutting working people. Meantime you can at most times find management 3-7 of them just lounging about drinking coffee and carrying on rather than working. If cutting money is such a thingie why not cut those who are doing nothing such as the number of assistant managers instead of actual working staff? I can only assume as I heard once long ago a manager with short hair tell one of the Baristas in the front on my way out to make it look good on paper that the board does not know the sneaky stuffs their managers are doing. What I do see is management not working nor are they really dressed to work. THey are always casually at best making it look as if they are doing work by doing the work casually of the workers. There use to be a management team with a red haired gentleman named David... if I recall correctly his ass manager was David Hernandez and they were not affraid to work. But as for now I see 3-7 teams of women in black all dressed up just laughing and laying all the time with a short dark haired man now, was with another dark haired lady all of which radiate that they are above the workers while they cut workers necessary to do the job. Often now the evening shift is down to 1 person doing the work of min 2 people and some of those managers have had the audacity to go in there and bark at the only person on hand. I understand they are under a union so why is the union not aware of this? As for the prices they cannot compete with Walmart or Winco, the only thing they had going for them was the staff could take care of customers and now they don't even have enough to do that anymore. I think someone in their corporate needs to be made aware and send someone neutral in to review these people... primarily the ones in control. If they want to cut costs start with management.

I'm going to add photos here to prove my point. The Starbucks itself the people in there there's…read moreactually three good working people in there the fourth one is questionable and the rest are completely out of it. I've been frequently in this place for 10 years and I slowly seen it decline as a managers , not the staff working the kiosk but the managers have f***** it over . They keep cutting more and more people out and then expecting the people that are there to take on the jobs of the people they cut out . When I first started this place before there was three to four people there all day there was never any backups on the line service was great then they cut one then it became two to three people then they cut another then it became two to one people . This is not on the Starbucks people itself it's on the management cutting people . See to the average person this makes no sense and they don't even bother to look at that fact but someone like me who has a master's degree in Psychology with a focus in HR , and 50 years of experience on this planet to know when management is shafting its workers. Furthermore the management team I often see them standing around doing nothing , at best they'll pretend like they're wiping rails or pretend like they're stocking shelves but you can walk by the managers and walk them and watch them and you'll be lucky the entire length of the aisle if you see them put one item on the Shelf while the other stalkers are f****** stalking 30 or 40 by the time you exit the aisle. There used to be a guy there named David Lee who was the manager he actually worked , his issue was though that he didn't know how to delegate responsibility he tried to take it on all himself while this is an admirable trait it's not conducive to productivity anymore than not getting your hands dirty to do stuff. Now one thing I can tell you is a person will dress for the work that they're going to do. The last few managers have dressed and dress clothing which would make you think that they were going to do manage oil stuff. However most of the Departments or short on people to do the job , so why do they have now hiring signs up front if they're not hiring? The major issue with this store and I'm not going to say any others cuz this is the one I frequent the most is that the manager makes things look good on paper then they demean the employees who actually runs that place not them it's the work of the employees that run it and they take on more than when they're contract their employment contract agreed they would take on , by having to pick up the work of the other people who will let go just so these managers can get paid. And when you approach them they blame it on the manager before and this continues on they've had I believe six managers in the last 10 years . And my time one manager stayed at one store if it's succeeded it's because they made it succeed if it's failed it's because they made it fail. So while people are wanting to employ or blame the employees maybe they should take a deeper look at what's going on here . Glad to not everybody has the training that I do but to be honest I've been across this United States and three other countries and I've seen this type of crap play out. These managers only want the money and none of the work and so they shun the work on other people and blame the failure on the manager that came before them. The district managers are no better they come in and just shoot the s*** with the managers rather than ask them serious questions like this latest one I believe his name is Luis dresses like a middle eastern pimp stands around talking with the women who are assistant managers drinking coffee and I only come in there once or twice a day and almost every time that's how I see them . What is the chance that I come in when at random times and cast them doing that and it not be the norm?. Furthermore why doesn't the union send in people secretly to see and observe the same thing I'm doing? They would see a lot of breaches of their own Union contracts , but instead I've heard managers announce that inspectors were coming in and then tell the lower employees they need to get things together and make it look right on things that they f***** up on in order to fool the ones who are inspecting. When a district manager comes in why didn't they notice that they had lost a person and the bakery and then contact that person and ask them why they lost another person in produce who was also a lead why didn't they contact that person and ask them why they've lost countless people in their pickup Department why didn't they contact those people and ask them why in order to solve the problem then why didn't they ask their own manager of that store the Middle Eastern pimp why the f*** he wasn't in the office trying to hire people to replace those instead of outside laughing and carrying on with them? This is why I say the district manager fails also .

He found out that the in-store Starbucks had absconded all the 32 oz. Half and Half. He scored one for me. Aaron gets 5 stars. There was a cashier in training that did a poor job with my check-out. She had to be reminded of my coupons. It is Monopoly season and she was not careful counting out the tickets and shorted me 6 tickets. When I brought it to her attention, she was too busy to apologize and just brushed me off. Safeway would receive a higher review from me, but the outstanding service that I received from one was canceled by the poor service from another. Still, it is my neighborhood grocery store, and I will keep supporting it.

I love Safeway. There's not much to choose from in the way of decent, clean, stocked grocery stores…read morein this part of Phoenix if you ask me. Although I prefer Safeway to pretty much any other grocery chain, I will hit up any store that's nearest to me, because I'm not really that picky. A few months ago, I was looking for Lady Fingers (the light, soft ones) to make tiramisu. Tried 2 different stores that were closer to me, with no luck. Ended up at this Safeway, and they HAD them! It's farther from my house than 2 other grocery stores, but this triumph was noted. A month ago, I was looking for canned pumpkin to make muffins. I realize it's not Thanksgiving yet, but if stores stock crazy pie filling like apricot year-round, how hard is it to keep some pumpkin on hand? Apparently, quite difficult, as I went to 3 retailers and could not find ANY pumpkin. I even bought a can of cooked sweet potato, as I had resigned myself to tweaking the recipe with whatever the hell I could find. On a whim, went to Safeway because I remembered the lady fingers thing, and what do you know!? Pumpkin: they had it. I was in a hurry and irritated and in my 4th store of the day, and it started raining, so the first can I saw was organic, and like $4. I didn't look further for any other cans; I grabbed it and went on my way. **in the checkout lane, I remember ranting to my cashier about my pumpkin hunt, and how excited I was that they had it. This will be referenced later. Two weeks ago, I needed groceries, and decided to go straight to Safeway, as I have had incredible luck there of late. I'm already a fan of that place, but it got better. I had the same cashier from the pumpkin fiasco night, and he remembered me! I was impressed. And that is how I came to love this Safeway.
