I can usually save about 1/3 off my groceries in comparison to the other places I shop. Of course, they don't have too many brand name things, so you have to decide judiciously to try the food. I've been awaiting Aldi for ages and I am so happy it is finally open! I've visited three times in about the first month that it has been open, and have had good experiences every time. The holiday merchandise and goodies that are out now are lots of fun, but I am most excited about the various artisan cheeses that they have in stock. This place is heavenly for cheese lovers! Also, so far they have had great sales on avocados every time I have been there; the highest price I've paid for a good-sized medium avocado is 39-cents. I don't know how long those prices will last, but I'm enjoying them for now. Pro tip: Check the Aldi website to see sales ads for the current week, as well as sneak peeks of future sales. So I have a friend that highly recommended this place. So I finally came by. So here's the things I think you should know if you want a cart it cost a quarter but you do get that quarter back. They are eco-friendly so they do not do bags so bring your own. That is where I went wrong thankfully I did have a quarter but I did not bring any of my own bags but I ended up finding some in my car after shopping so I was able to put some of my items in a bag. Depending on what you buy some of the items are on sale but I felt like your typical items you could probably get them cheaper at Fry's or Walmart. This is a healthy type of restaurant kind of reminds me of traders Joe. My friend is from Europe and Aldie is everywhere there I guess and after telling them about my experience they did let me know that the Aldi's here is a little different from the one back in Europe. To be fair I don't know if I would go back I felt some of the prices was a little too high and I thought it would be bigger than it was. I remember my friend stating you to buy all these different items other than food would you kind of can but they're miscellaneous items is not big. read more

I grew up in St. Louis where we had aldi's. So I was super excited to go check this one out. Bring your own bag. Bring a quarter for the grocery carts. It was interesting to go through all the isles and look at all the stuff. For those have never been there it's like a store of generics. But sprinkle them with a few higher end items. Nothing crazy but like ecos dish soap for example. They had a unexpected item that I love which is blue cheese buffalo cheese curls from Herr's. In town for a while, it was good to see an Aldi. Their old-school system of using a quarter to get a grocery cart is quaint but does keep too many carts from being left in the lot (hear that, Walmart?) or used by homeless somewhere else. Prices are usually better than other places, but with a limited amount of options in a small space. There ARE bargains to be found here. Remember to bring in a bag or box or be willing to pay 10 cents for a basic bag if you don't want to deal with lots of stuff. I grabbed a box from the front just emptied after stocking bins. One thing that puzzled me was why Aldi lets their employees get political on the job. A black woman at the checkout had on a mask with a clear Black Lives Matter printed on it. Seemed out of place and a bit in my face, a real disgrace to the store. I agree with the statement, but not from an employee. If Aldi is fine with it, then count me out as returning customer. read more

I love Aldis ,way cheaper than any other market I spend about 150 a week that includes meats ,fish ,veggies and other things,where at walmart i would get mostly nothing for that amount ,as someone else said about meat on the shelve not sure what thats referred to but the meats are in the fridge ! Also they have super good cheese selection and produce is great and fresh ! I am not a fan of packages meals but i tried some for the heck of it like lime chicken or bbq barbacoa and i must say they all taste very good for pre made.i just would love to see more german goods!!! read more

I see all these videos and hear all these stories about Aldi. Well they really missed the mark on the one that showed up in Goodyear Arizona. :(. Prices are basically no different than at Walmart. And not really much of a selection. Some items I question like meats on shelf instead of being refrigerated. I was excited to check them out when they first opened and they had some amazing deals. But came back this weekend and off beams were more than off brands at regular stores and name brands were the same if not more. Disappointed. :( read more

I have been hearing so many things about Aldi for months that I had to check it out when I heard the location in Goodyear had finally opened. When I pulled into the parking lot I was surprised honestly how small the parking lot and store itself was. I was able to find a spot to park fairly quickly and noticed a line to get in. The line was moving pretty quick so I decided to go check it out. First thing I noticed is the grocery carts chained together. You have to put in a quarter to unlock . I'd never seen such a thing. You get the quarter beck at the end of shopping. I don't usually carry change, but today I did . Although I wasn't sure I'd even buy anything I wanted a cart just in case. Once inside I noticed some really great sales on produce. Avocados for 10 cents each SAY WHAT?! pretty happy about that. I was impressed with all the produce, but sadly not much else. The store itself is pretty small and not much of a selection compared to larger grocery options around the valley. I will say it was pretty busy as well and hard to maneuver some aisles. The store was well organized and clean. I started towards the check out lane with a handful of items only to realize you have to bring your own grocery bags or buy their reusable ones that are about $2 each. I only needed one thank goodness. After you buy your groceries they put them back in your cart and then you walk over to a counter area along the wall to bag them. That was very weird to me, but I get that it helps the line move. However if you have a lot of groceries or kids with you that may be stressful. I was on the fence about giving three or four stars because it isn't really a store I'd frequent, but it was clean, organized, employees were friendly, good produce pricing and choices, I like the idea about helping limit plastics and having the reusable bags (wish I'd of known before entering), I just feel the selections on everything else were slim. I know a lot of people will love this place. I myself wasn't a fan. read more

This is a really nice ALDI. Huge parking lot with easy access off I-10 and Estrella Pkwy. Everything is really clean and well stocked. Super nice and helpful staff as well. There's also a Starbucks in the same parking lot. If you're an ALDI fan, this one will not disappoint. read more

I am a local homeowner, retired/disabled veteran, senior citizen over 70. I have heard many good things about Aldi from folks that have used the store in other cities so I visited the new store in Goodyear today. Normally I use my own electric mobility chair but once in a while when I have a chance at a ride like today, I use the electric carts at a store. Today when I went into the store my friend could only find one electric cart. The area that should be a charging station had only one small electrical outlet. Returning home I wrote a complaint to Aldi Corp and was informed they have no plans to provide electrical carts at that location. If seniors or disabled need help shopping they can call in advance and someone will assist them. read more

I'm so happy to have an Aldi nearby. I had never heard of this company before moving to AZ. After moving here, I discovered they are also in Southern CA. I lived up north, hence why I had never heard of them until now. There is no Traders in Goodyear, which was where I shopped all the time when I lived in Ca. I can go to one, I just have to drive about 20 min to get there. However! Aldi fills in the gaps for me on most go to items I need, which is great! I've found avocados for .49 cents, watermelon for 2.97. Today I found a package of 3 zucchini for .89 cents and a head of cabbage for .59 cents! The bread is really cheap too. Their brand of buttermilk bread is only 1.69 (I think). If you buy the name brand at Safeway it's close to 5 bucks a loaf, and it tastes exactly the same. Raisin bread tastes just like the sunmaid raisin bread but for only 1.89 a loaf! Bring a quarter so you can get a cart. Don't fret, you'll get it back when you return your cart. You have to bag your own groceries, as well as, pay for a bag, if you don't bring your own. Small price to pay in my opinion, especially if it keeps food costs down. read more

Absolutely love this place, don't understand why people like to complain about the carts or that it's nothing crazy. Lots of cheap prices for same foods at big grocery stores. Not to mention my favorite thing is their clean race section I can not with the amount of awesome products I have came across! Especially the cordless vacuum I recently purchased on sale! It was my first time going there. It was okay, I got 3 bags of groceries for 36.00 and no coupons needed. I had to drive 7 miles due to no Aldi in West Phoenix.. it's a shame it would make a great addition to Phoenix community. I will give it a couple chances and see if the drive is worth it. read more

You just don't know how excited I am that Aldi is here in the Phoenix area. Aldi does need to realize that Phoenix is a highly populated area. They need the bigger version of the store no matter where they place a store. I always see people complaining about the quarter needed for the cart and buying bags or bring your own bag (recycling is a good thing). These help keeping the cost down to shop here. I hope that Aldi puts a good size Aldi in North Phoenix. read more
