This is my go to Aldi in Richmond. It's nearby, always has parking available and easy to go around. It has the general Aldi set up, so it's not too hard to find what you're looking for. They have great products here! You can find the best priced groceries at Aldi. They also have great quality products. The best part is you can find some European goods with a great price tag and taste. The people who work here are really kind and will help you if you have any questions. Although you might not always find what you're looking for, they do have most of the essentials. I highly recommend shopping here, it's a great spot to get groceries. read more

I love this Aldi! It's super convenient and priced right. I could get lost in the aldi finds aisle and I often do. I love their fruit and cheese options and love that they don't use any dyes in their boxed foods! I was hesitant at first about shopping here, but now I finally see the light. I live really close to this store, and will do my shopping of certain items here from now on. I have been told that the same parent company that owns Trader Joe's owns Aldi...which I have not personally looked into. The lines always move quickly and the aisles always clean. read more

My first trip to an Aldi. I was really just looking for a single serve cold drink, which they didn't have. I took a look around, and I could possibly be a shopper. Their produce section looks decent. They have a nice organic section... I think I may have read somewhere that they're going completely organic? Their "display" of boxed/canned/jarred goods isn't very attractive, but I guess that's not the point for this store. Anyhow, Scott's Addition sure did need this grocer. read more

I just love Aldi! This one's pretty busy but I've always been able to get in and get out pretty quickly. While the selection is not expansive, they pretty much have everything I need when it comes to groceries. Produce and meats are high quality, there are healthy snacky things that are perfect for weekday lunches or late night snacks and I actually like the super cheap wine that's less than $4 a bottle. Aisles are wide, cashiers are so friendly. In fact I once didn't bring my wallet and the cashier used HER OWN MONEY to pay for my groceries. The next time I saw her I tried to pay her back and she refused. Just wow! Prices just simply can't be beat. I'm always amazed at how cheap everything is when I walk out of there. Yesterday I discovered they sell Greek yogurt for 55 cents per container, and it's just as good as the kind you'd normally spend $1.50 for at the normal grocery store. read more

Wonderful to have an ALDI so near VCU. This location is typically busy, but good about opening another register if the lines are growing unwieldy. The cashiers are super efficient, and I've always found them to be friendly and attentive. I buy tortillas (wheat and corn), breads, and cheeses here. There are always new ones to try. The produce is always fresh and of good quality. There's a lot of packaging to facilitate fast scanning, so stuff like sweet potatoes and oranges come by the bagful. You can't pick individual ones, which ime tend to be smaller than ones I'd ever choose. Bagged spinach stays fresh for a week or longer, and in-season asparagus can be had for $1.39! As for the packaged items, I'm a fan of the tortellini, rice cakes, and tomato juice, and an even bigger fan of their garlic salt (cf McCormick's California garlic salt, plus that whole spice section is worth a look) and frozen green beans, which are really haricots verts (the skinny French beans)! I confess to buying and liking the jarred salsa, although every self-respecting Richmonder supposedly makes their own. Same for the Little Salad Bar hummus. One of the pitfalls of ALDI (and Trader Joe's) is that items get discontinued. I don't exactly dream of the cucumber makeup removal wipes, for example, but wouldn't mind if a few packs were to be suddenly made available. Most folks will probably be able to get most but not all of their grocery shopping done here--and quickly. I don't carry quarters and thus never use a cart; using my reusable bags as shopping baskets limits impulse buying, as well as time in store. read more

LAWD!!! I procrastinated about going here since they opened, I live right around the corner so that makes me a fool. I love this store, I walked around like it was my first time in a grocery, amazed. The staff as you already know is extremely nice and knowledgeable. Smiling faces everywhere. It looks like a warehouse (not complaining) because of the zero frills but that comes with the territory of prices that are astronomical. They have these green pea snacks that are amazing, imagine a Cheeto but healthy. Cheap eggs (although I was skeptical, I bought them anyway). Dyno and Shark fruit snacks are like heaven. Great Feta Cheese. They have these extra large pizzas that I haven't bought or tried yet BUT I will no doubt the next time I go, they all look delicious. Great store. read more

I always wanted to scan groceries as a kid and I saw an ad on Facebook that Aldi was hiring so even though I had a fulltime job with I decided to apply for a part time position. My life was forever changed! I only bought the fresh fruit and veggies at first because I was not sure about how the brands would taste. I slowly but surely tried a little more each time. Since I was working at the store what better way to see if things were good then to ask the people buying it. I got the same reaction from everyone. They loved the food and loved the prices even more. It has been about a 2 years and a few months now that I have been doing 99% of my grocery shopping at Aldi. I buy everything from them and the quality is great and the prices are unbeatable. Lidl is slightly more maybe like a penny or two on some things I buy so I choose not to go there for the most part I do like them but Aldi is my first choice. I just feel like I know I'm winning with Adli. I switched over to their toilet paper and paper towels, dish soap, dish washer pods, trash bags, storage bags everything has been converted and I am very pleased with the quality. I was using bounty, hefty, ziplock, Dawn, and Cascade. I haven't noticed anything different. The paper towels are a little tougher than bounty but they are just as good at cleaning and absorbing moisture. The overall quality and health factors are enough to keep me coming back. I love the wine and the organic section. I can actually afford to buy organic and still stay within budget. I am a single person so I can fill my house with food when I have almost nothing left for about $80. My regular store list every week and a half is about 30-40 bucks. You can load up two carts to the MAX for under $400. I have filled a cart and a have for $140 before. They sell a dozen eggs for a dollar or less and the bread is always under 2 dollars. The one I bought on Sunday was a whole loaf for .89 cents. the winking owl wine is around $3 and its California wine. strawberries are reg price $2.49 and they go on sale often. If you want good food and money in your pocket go to Aldi. You wont regret it. Plus if you don't like it take it back and they will give you your money back and let you try something else for free. I have reviewed this location before but. It sure where it went. I am very disappointed in this aldi. I love aldi and go to other locations and lidl all the time. I have been here twice and will drive past this location to the west broad location. No one is friendly. It is dirty and nothing is organized. I walked around here multiple times trying to find items and nothing is where it seems it should be or it isn't in Stock. I am sorry they out a location here and encourage anyone to go to other locations if they can. read more

100% love this place. The no frills atmosphere means a ton of savings for you! I have not been disappointed by anything I've purchased here. Check out their European chocolate selection - that stuff rocks. While selections can be limited and/or change often, as long as you can be flexible, you're going to do great here. I'm really impressed with the meats - cheap and really good - and the produce selection is always attractive. It surprised me how many gluten free options I noticed here. Their almond milk is the best I've had! And I looooove the seasonal aisle in the middle. You never know what you're going score. My only wish is that it opened a bit earlier! read more

The employees have always been friendly towards me. They don't have everything a normal grocery store has but they have a lot and good quality. Plus, you can't beat the prices. If I have to choice between the Kroger at Lombardy and ALDI on Blvd, hands down, I would go to ALDI. Don't forget to bring shopping bags and a quarter (which you get back) for a cart. read more

Prices are good, many of the things I usually buy at Kroger are significantly less expensive and the quality is equal or better. The employees are friendly and helpful which always adds to the experience. I like the size of the store, it's not a "super store" where I have to spend all day looking for things, it takes me about 15 minutes to go through all the isles and see what I want. They don't have everything, but I'm OK with that. Plus I enjoy the efficiency, self bagging, putting your own cart away etc. read more
