ALDI really has great prices, and fun finds. Also, unlike Lidl, they still carry sliced deli meats. I don't like packaged deli meats, so I now have to go either to ALDI or King Kullen. Produce section was seriously picked over, but I did get spring mix and a couple of other things. They don't have GF tortillas (Lidl does), or bread. They didn't have any GF pizza dough, either. They DID have fresh boneless SKINLESS salmon, and a YUMMY fresh GF lemon basil tortellini!! Skinless salmon isn't easy to find. I don't like skinning it. I either blacken it, or grind it and make burgers, so I don't want the skin. So this was a most excellent trip. Blackened salmon, tortellini, and a salad were a perfect dinner. Cashiers are swift and efficient. Alas, one has to bag one's own groceries, and I don't like that. But that's the norm everywhere, except Costco. ALDI has sort of a bargain-store ambience. the manager and a team member was so rude and disrespectful when I was doing a Instacart order and they just said that it was my fault that I needed to not waste there time when it wasn't busy at all and this was the worst shopping experience ever at that store and it was not the first time for that team member read more

What;s great about Aldi's, the discount cousin of Trader Joes? Aldi's began in Germany in 1946 as a discount grocer, now in 20 countries and more than 10,000 stores. It has been in Long Island for the past few years. A funny adventure to see the knock of brand names such as Berman's instead of Hellman's mayonnaise and tons of other quite good knock offs for half. So good at it they were sued by Pepperidge Farms for their short lived version of the Milano cookie. Lol! Why it pays to stop in especially at Holiday time.. They are better than a gourmet shop during Holiday season, when finding pfeffernusse cookies, gingerbread, cute little chocolate ornaments for the tree (if you put one up) odd little liquor flavored cakes, & marzipan covered in chocolate. In summer I've found German made wieners with mustard, kielbasa, German sauerkraut, and red cabbage at times. Also not in the regular knock off section, but in their specialty isles, they have had a bunch of super mustard seedy, cool German mustard's. If you bake a lot at holiday time, they have a long baking isle with tons of basics that you can grab and go and bake for a year with. All the basics in one isle. Lots of spices also. read more

Wow what a market. Came in very skeptical. Mom wanted to buy me socks - I acquiesced. But man, there is much more than socks at Aldi! Awesome low-priced grocery store with some of the essentials. Took about 7 minutes for us to get a shopping cart full of things at an incredible price. Not to mention the staff was insanely nice and accommodating! Whenever I create listings in Manhattan, the joint is flooded with reviews by the time I get there myself. In this case, no one seems to be visiting this new Aldi, as it was nearly empty even during the grand opening that I mistakenly arrived during. Pretty much an identical store to the Lake Grove location, with 'bargain' prices on items that are far from unadulterated but not as diabolical as the other new 'market' on 58, Walmart. Given that I couldn't find $40 of items to use the $10 coupon they mailed us (nor even a single thing that we can't get at Costco or the same-company-owned TJs), I see no reason to go back unless I'm desperate for $2.49/gallon milk. read more

All in all very cheap and pretty good vegetables. Can't beat avocados for 75 cents a piece. Make sure you have cash or a debt card. They don't accept any other forms of payment here. Personally I only buy some fruits and vegetables here and maybe milk and eggs and only if I'm in the area. Otherwise it's all off brand items. Which some are good and some Aren't. read more

5 stars for the prices and quality of their products. 0 stars for the rude customer service I received from Aleesa the cashier. Aleesa just needs to follow through with quality customer service. There is no need to speak to someone in such a demanding voice, roll your eyes at them, throw the products into the wagon, or just being so rude. This is the 4th time I've been to an Aldi Market and the first I've experienced this at the register. This Aldi in Riverhead was very convenient for me while I was away for work and all because of Aleesa who doesn't know that a please, a thank you and a smile can go a long way makes me hope I dont have to go back to this specific Aldi Market especially if she is working on that day! Other than that they had everything I needed to make lunch and dinner for under $35 bucks for the next 4 days. read more

I'm so happy a friend introduced me to Aldi. I can afford to eat well and healthily. I can easily get twice the food, and quality is good, as in other supermarkets. Also Aldi has a good business ethic. The workers seem too be more respected than in other supers, and they are friendly. read more

Found out about this market from my friends at group. We went there first time and I was amazed how cheap things were, even a gallon of milk for $1.99! Everyone was polite and I like the organic appeal of the store. Only thing they need to approve on is the aisle signs. read more

This is the second Aldi location I've shopped at and I still can't figure out what's the big deal about this place? I know they are owned by Trader Joes, but TJs is light-years better than Aldi! You may as well shop at Walmart if you want cheap, processed foods. Ok? Seriously, that is what they sell here. I'd say if you want to save some money on your basics like flour, coffee, nuts, butter, milk, sugar than perhaps there is a market for Aldi-- but with Walmart less than a mile away and Costco across the street, I really don't think Aldi has a demographic that needs it. read more

For those who are unfamiliar with Aldi, it's a low-cost food chain that carries mostly its own brands (it also owns Trader Joe's, which is known for carrying its own brands as well). Aldi is my first experience shopping in a "no-frills" supermarket. I have to say, I was impressed with the choices and quality of foods I could purchase. What impressed me most was the amount of fresh produce and organic items. Aldi also offers a section of home decor and kitchen items. All in all, I found what I wanted, and paid about half of what I pay at Stop N Shop. I always get a chuckle when I shop Aldi -- its brand names sound ALMOST familiar. Uncured bacon from "Appleton Farms"? Yogurt branded "Fit N Active"? It feels like the Twilight Zone sometimes. If I have the time (Aldi is a good 20 minutes from home), I'll always shop Aldi first now. read more

I visited this Aldi because Costco across the street was closed and I needed milk. I was pleasantly surprised to see that milk was $2.05 a gallon and half-and-half was $1.99. Eggs were a good price also. The store is definitely no-frills and the produce and fresh meats were slim pickings ( maybe because it was a Saturday evening) but the off- brand shelf items were very good prices. They do take credit cards, and be aware that you have to put a quarter deposit in to get a shopping cart, which is returned when you put it back. read more

Good quality and low prices. No, you can't get everything you need at aldi's, but can get a lot here. The prices here are less than wall mart on almost everything I buy, cereal, almond mild, eggs, butter, bread, yogurt, rolls and a lot of others. Aldil's organic coffee is very good and you can't beat the price. I shop at aldi's first and what I can't get there, I go elsewhere for. I'm on a fixed income and I'm saving around $100 per month shopping at aldi's. Unlike wall mart they pay their employees well and they have benefits. read more
