I just had an experience at the West Chicago Aldi that simply must be recorded. The woman working at the checkout whose name is Melissa was beyond outstanding. I don't know if I've ever worked with someone so professional and so helpful at a grocery store. There are a couple little things I needed help with and she was the only person available. I expected her to be overwhelmed and exasperated. To the contrary, she literally stunned me with her kindness and high capacity service. I don't know if there's a president of the West Chicago Aldi store, but, if I could vote for one, Melissa has my vote. Now that I think of it, I'd like to vote for Melissa to become the president of the United States. read more

I just had my first visit to Aldi in over 10 years and I don't know how I feel about it. They had the strangest variety of items that mostly looked like they fell off a truck. In fact, some of the packages were open. Still... I got fresh fruit, eggs, sliced cheese, fish sticks, juice, fruit cocktail, and many other items -but the total was only $23 !!! Whaaat? Hey when I am broke and run out of money I make my pit stops here to buy the most necessary item I need to hold me to next check. I'd i would bisect my money in the first place I would NOT be in this predicament. Ok so I confess I stop at Aldi to buy tortillas, tilapia, milk for my son and toilet paper we go through so much of it that I get a lot of toilet paper. If I have a change to go to the one In Geneva is better they have more name brands here than the one on west Chicago must west Chicago has a lot of Mexican items so I stop here. My son does not like pasta so I been doing or trying to do more Mexican dishes or American. I can really brake my wallet Here too because I go for milk and I end buying things I don't need so it all evens out. This also is very clean and everyone here is extremely friendly. I just went to the Aldi in West Chicago today @ 9:30, (Tuesday, 9/5 23). I had a good experience, as I found everything I needed, plus an added bonus of Chicken and Beef stew meat that was marked down 50%. I am on a fixed income, and when I see these deals, I snatch them up! They go right to my freezer for future meals. I got my Vegetables and frozen meals, all at a great price! NOTE: 2- star Review is not about actual store or food products, but a very rude employee. Guy - early 50's, bald, glasses - on various visits, we have seen this person by very rude to both customers, and just generally yelling or shouting about stuff in a foul mood (sometimes leaving the cash register line for several minutes). In his defense, we do understand that times can be nagging dealing with many customers (some indeed rude themselves) or just the incoming tide of working at a small, busy grocery store. However, this has happened more than once and it does reflect on the company. This person probably should not be working at this type of store, or at minimum, he should not be working the cash register line - maybe put him doing stock only. We are not out to get anybody fired. There are just many people this store could additionally hire who NEED a job and would probably love to work the cash register line who might have more of an upbeat demeanor. read more

I had not been to Aldi's for a while and heard so many people raving about it I went to the one in West Chicago. I found helpful employees, a wide variety of products, and excellent prices. That gave me an idea. I had a taste testing at a birthday party. There were identical looking objects from Aldi and Name brands. People voted with stickers which were name brands. The stickers were split evenly. No one could tell the difference but I did by the price. Aldi's was always cheaper. read more

I love Aldi. I stock up on everything for our snack drawer there. The yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit cups (in 100% juice!) and apple sauce cups prices just cannot be beat. I think milk was 1.26 the other day, seriously?! It's also the closest grocery store to our house making it super convenient if I need something quick, like the whipping cream I needed the other day. read more

I frequently shop at the West Chicago Aldi. I usually shop for the basics here. They are so much cheaper than the bigger grocery store. I've had good luck with the produce and organic food. Sometimes, the cashiers are a little abrupt and rushing too much, but overall they are pretty friendly. read more

I want there today, waited about 6 minutes in line to the cashier. I had all my stuff on belt already. Guy who was in front of me dropped Olive Oil on the floor . Cashier closed line after me.(He put line close sign) when i came up to register I answered my phone and then cashier heard me speaking different language and then he told me that I have to go to different register because he need to clean that oil now. I wonder what would have happen if i didn't answered my phone......... read more
