We told them what happened and they inspected it and said it's an easy fix. It was done with in a minute or so. Now it looks like new and worries of it not coming off was fixed. I went in to get a quote and he was 40% lower! I had the pleasure of meeting, Aldo. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he's been a jeweler there in Orlando for nearly 40 years and he's from Italy! I had two rings resized at this place. My rings came back cleaned, polished and perfectly sized. They also had it ready when promised.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this jeweler. Before Christmas, I left my double strand pearls to be repaired, when I picked them up, they did not appear to be the same pearls size and color look different. They now have a yellowing tint to them. Not sure if they were cleaned by some thing the tainted them, but they certainly are not the white pearls that I left in their care. According to the jeweler, they send their pearls out to be repaired, and sense. They don't actually do the repairs. There's nothing they can do for me. Absolutely unacceptable. I will definitely not be using this to her again.! read more

So I took my silver ring in for a cleaning as I was considering getting it polished, and for context my ring had a lotus flower pattern with a black inlay, after the cleaning it had completely blown out the inlay, I attempted to contact the store about it, and the jeweler basically said tough luck. My wife is not a sentimentalist when it comes to "stuff" but she does have a special place in her heart for her grandmother's charm bracelet. It is really the only piece of jewelry that she wears other than her wedding ring. My wife received two charms at Christmas this past year and needed a jeweler who could solder them on to the bracelet. Given the economic problems that so many businesses are facing, we were concerned that any jeweler we selected might go out of business while in custody of the bracelet. Accordingly, we chose Aldo's because he advertises in our church bulletin and we figured we could find him if he were to go dark unannounced. I dropped the bracelet off last Saturday and the woman behind the counter was very helpful. She was also quite practical in that when I told her that we would be having one of the charms removed, she did that immediately so that I could take it home with me. She told me that the charge would be between $15 and $20 and that the store would call when the bracelet was ready. My wife called Aldo's today and learned that the bracelet was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I was pleased to see that Aldo's had not only soldered the two charms in place, but also polished the entire bracelet. It looked as if I were picking it up new! The charge was $15.98, within the range quoted and a good value, I thought. Any time one leaves jewelry with a stranger, trust is important and I immediately trusted the woman who assisted me. I also liked meeting the proprietor today when I picked up the piece. The complimentary polishing of the bracelet was a nice touch but Aldo's loses a start because we had to call to determine that the bracelet was ready. I cannot comment on the jewelry that Aldo's offers for sale but I can say that I was very happy with the services that I received and with the attitude and effort of the counter help! read more

Anyway, my family and I have used Aldo many, many times over the years. He does fine work. Is always reasonable and dependable. I took my Rolex there for a simple polishing while I was in Orlando on business. The day before, i had scuffed the crystal - this is something I could've taken care of back home with rubbing compound and a rag, or diamond paste. Hell, I could have taken it to my local watchmaker- but I needed my watch in good shape for a business dinner I had that evening. When I pick up the watch, a very light scuff has turned into two small - but clearly noticeable scrapes. And there's a small dip in the crystal now It looks like a buffing wheel was improperly used. And for this, I had the pleasure of paying $30. Thank god I had a second watch available. And to top it off, I was accused of bringing in a fake Rolex. Not cool. read more

Aldo's is a neighborhood jeweler who came thru for me in an important time of my life. I lost my father several years ago to which a religious medallion was given to one of three grandsons. My son also wanted the medallion as well and hence the search to try and replicate. Aldo jumped right in and replicated the medallion exactly with expert European craftsmanship. It took some time but well worth the wait. We even used old gold jewelry melted down to recreate the product. Everywhere else I went seemingly made a big deal of this request. Not Aldo.
