So so so good and authentic. The lady working behind is so sweet and the food is really incredible. Exactly what i was looking for.

The owners are very nice. The food takes a while but it is worth it! I would definitely come back. Parking was hard to find because it is street parking. I recommend saying hi and thank you in Spanish

Very nondescript kind of place... Strictly a Yelp search cause I had a hankering for Mexican food. Went with the 3 taco special for $7.00. One each of chicken, beef and pork served up with what the owner said was a mild sauce. Could only wonder what the hot sauce would have been like, as this opened up my sinuses. Menu is strictly a blackboard. Aldys has only 3 tables plus a couple of stools by the front counter and that's it. Gotta admit that the food was pretty darn good. Definitely not the easiest place to find. Probably walked by this place 2 or 3 times before I realized where it was. No sign is out front, just the address. This is not a chain. Nice little hole in a wall establishment in Union City. Would like to explore the menu a little bit further. As these places are somewhat popular in the vicinity.

We went inside as we passed by and it smelled really good we love to support the locals and it's a small hole in the wall but totally worth it. Doesn't look fancy and the menu is small but TOTALLY WORTH IT! My fiancé got tacos de carne and I got the burrito de chorizo. Soooooo good!!!

This is about my 5th time here and realized this woman, Aldy deserves way more recognition! Best authentic Mexican food I've had. It's a tiny mom and pop shop making a handful of delicious Mexican dishes! It seems that Aldy runs the place herself. (Good for her!) She takes the order, cooks the food, and rings you up. The food is always so fresh and flavorful. Definitely recommend the steak torta and chorizo quesadilla. Try her spicy green sauce!

The neighborhood is kind of a foodie desert, but this tiny little spot redeems it slightly! Unassuming hole in the wall, grab and go kind of place. We've tried pretty much everything on the menu (Mexican eats) and the biztec torta (steak sandwich) is our favorite!

yo.. this little hole in the wall mexican restaurant is the REAL THING. The place is not the nicest of interiors, no thrills or frills., but THIS IS TRUE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. I will definitely come back again and YOU should try it for yourself.

This is the most authentic Mexican spot in union city. The lady who runs it works here 7 days a week. Got no more than 3 tables in it but the food is Bomb!!! I recommend the "Torta de Res" this hole in the wall spot is authentic as it gets for Mexican food in union city. Everything is A1

The yuca fries were crunchy and came with a tasty sauce. The sauces they gave us from spicy to smoky to creamy were all great. The machin - bone marrow taco was AMAZING. We ordered: Borracho Tacos (fish) $22 Esquites Gratinee (corn) $10 Truffle Ribeye Burrito $27 Black Chili Crunch Guacamole $14 The borracho tacos aka fish tacos were very small and disappointing. They are very overpriced for what we received. One small piece of fish per little taco shell. Flavor was ok. Are they worth $22? Absolutely not. We will not be reordering these. The Esquites Gratinee corn side dish was bigger than the guacamole portion and flavorful per my boyfriend. I don't eat corn so I didn't have any. My boyfriend really liked it. Said it's unique and 10/10. He would get this again. The truffle ribeye burrito is delicious. Though I didn't get any truffle flavor? If it was there, it's minimal. I didn't taste it at all. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it's a good portion of meat. Tender and flavorful. No chewiness. Sauce on top is amazing. Rice and beans cooked perfect. Would order this again. It's worth it. Even without truffle flavor. Great portion size too. The black chili crunch guacamole is the star of the show. While it's a small portion, it's very flavorful. Love the garlic. Love the crunch. Fresh avocados. This is worth it. We would definitely order it again. Highly recommend the guac. Small but mighty haha.

That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

The margaritas are $7 and they don't charge extra for flavors or to make it frozen, which is already a win. I got mango frozen and it was sweet and refreshing, perfect for the heat. They also let you pick your rim, sugar, salt, or tajin, small thing but I appreciated it. Our server was super attentive, kept checking back on us way more than most places do, and even gave us a heads up before happy hour ended so we could sneak in one last round. That kind of thing makes a difference. Food is half off apps during happy hour. The chicken flautas were legit, would definitely get those again. The East LA wings were just okay though, didn't have much flavor and wouldn't rush to reorder. Chips and salsa come free for the table, nothing crazy but a solid snack while you wait. Good value, friendly service, solid drinks. Skip the wings but everything else is worth it on a Tuesday.

Christ on a chopstick, I haven't seen an $8 sandwich since I was in grad school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth)! We started with the Tamal Cubano, which was fantastically delicious, though the accompanying sauce wasn't hot at all. A shame, because it was well-flavored--just needed a lot more capsaicin. My Cubano was very well done, but barely had any pickle in it, which made me sad. I opted to add fries and wasn't sad about the small, thin ones I got (very McDonald's-shaped). However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. I could've cried with wonder at the bill. Time travel is real guys--at least financially. Just hop into El DeLorean and come to Chango.

We ordered one of each type of taco plus an extra steak quesadilla so we could try everything, and I was surprised by how good the tacos were. Everyone's favorite was the adobada (al pastor), which was juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor and came with a couple strips of pineapple. The nopal was surprisingly delicious too, soft and well seasoned, and the chicken was much better than I expected. Only complaint was that the tortillas weren't as fresh as I was expecting. However, we had them again at the Midtown East location and they were way better there, so maybe we just caught a bad batch. Tacos were around $6 each, more expensive than a lot of spots back home in LA, but pretty comparable to places with larger tacos. You order and pay at the counter, hand your ticket to the taco staff, and they'll assemble your tacos for you.
