Campechanos Taco, Al Pastor Taco, Pescado Taco
    Mel T.

*Quarantine Delivery Review* Amazing food and great prices! Ordered for lunch one Monday afternoon: Campechanos (carnitas & chorizo) Taco - wasn't a huge fan of the carnitas Al Pastor Taco - one of the better al pastor I've had in a while Lengua Burrito - lengua can be hit or miss. In my experiences, it's usually too bland or too salty, but not here! Chorizo Quesdilla - this actually comes with two. I didn't love the tortilla but the chorizo was good Pescado Taco - I was a little disappointed that this wasn't fried. Maybe I misread the description. It was still good, nonetheless and I guess it's for the best since grilled is healthier anyway With each item, you get a choice of red sauce or green sauce. I definitely recommend the red, as it's more flavorful. The green was too 'green' tasting, if that makes sense. We had enough food for lunch the next day. Usually, Mexican takeout is not great the next day. It's a soggy mess. But everything here was still surprisingly good the next day. We just threw everything into a panini maker, and it was almost as good as the first day. There are so many items on their menu I still want to try. Literally, any Mexican item you can think of, is probably on this menu. Maybe I'll go with the torta next time and definitely some more Al Pastor.

9th year of being an Elite, figured I'd add a new business 7 days into 2020. 25% off first order through seamless. Vegetales enchiladas were very flavorful and came with mole sauce, avocados, onions, rice, and beans for $10 before the discount. Could use leftovers for lunch. I felt a little tang in there, could have been the mole sauce. Kinda caught me by surprise. I hope it was the onions. I would order again for the value even without the discount. I am a home cook kinda guy, but with this 10 steps away I could use it on a day off when I'm not getting my Gordon Ramsay on. Frijoles burrito was $8 and weighed as much as a newborn baby. French fries, not included, $3, were the size of a dragons' toenails. "Thicc" as the millennials say. It was full of everything right with the world and was just missing brussels sprouts and donuts. Super delicious. This area has nothing really and Chengdu is super questionable from what I hear. I'd give it a shot if you're curious, especially with that 25% off your first Seamless order. I don't eat meat (unless it's 500 miles away from home), so I can't say anything about the cow tongue and pork. Very small inside, but there's a long bench and a huge tv inside if you're into visual entertainment. You can see them cook if you turn around in your stool. It'd be super weird to do that though. Getting the order I saw the action in the back and it felt like I was back in Mexico, but not on a street and minus their currency. The menu is massive and you can probably find something vegan on it or if you take out cheese. That's woke as ****.

    Steak Burritio

Sitting right around the corner near Holland Tunnel, this local spot is an easy-go-to for me - honestly, a personal fav. Hands down, my number one order is the steak burrito with everything on it. It's extremely filling that I typically split the burrito in half to save the second half for another meal. I also get the chips/guac which often times have been provided fresh. A few other hits I'd recommend are: tres leches, churros, tacos, and beef empanada. I can't speak for anything else on the menu since I haven't tried them however my friend did try something else (forgot the name), and he said was a miss. So definitely one of those spots where you just got to try out and see what you like. Literally can't go wrong with the budget friendly prices.

    Shrimp Quesadilla, Agua de Jamaica

I walked by here after a little shopping. It's a cute little spot and very welcoming in there. They have a good variety of food which is always good. I decided to get the shrimp quesadilla and Agua de Jamaica (sorrel juice) Oh my gosh! (Screaming the words) that quesadilla was so darn good!! It was so fresh, just the right amount of cheese as well as shrimp. It was very fulfilling! The agua de Jamaica was a nice touch as well, sweet and delightful. The people there are nice too. I sat down eating watching a novella even though I didn't know what they were saying.. it seemed so interesting! Anywho I am definitely going back because the food is

We ordered: Borracho Tacos (fish) $22 Esquites Gratinee (corn) $10 Truffle Ribeye Burrito $27 Black Chili Crunch Guacamole $14 The borracho tacos aka fish tacos were very small and disappointing. They are very overpriced for what we received. One small piece of fish per little taco shell. Flavor was ok. Are they worth $22? Absolutely not. We will not be reordering these. The Esquites Gratinee corn side dish was bigger than the guacamole portion and flavorful per my boyfriend. I don't eat corn so I didn't have any. My boyfriend really liked it. Said it's unique and 10/10. He would get this again. The truffle ribeye burrito is delicious. Though I didn't get any truffle flavor? If it was there, it's minimal. I didn't taste it at all. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it's a good portion of meat. Tender and flavorful. No chewiness. Sauce on top is amazing. Rice and beans cooked perfect. Would order this again. It's worth it. Even without truffle flavor. Great portion size too. The black chili crunch guacamole is the star of the show. While it's a small portion, it's very flavorful. Love the garlic. Love the crunch. Fresh avocados. This is worth it. We would definitely order it again. Highly recommend the guac. Small but mighty haha.

That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

Christ on a chopstick, I haven't seen an $8 sandwich since I was in grad school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth)! We started with the Tamal Cubano, which was fantastically delicious, though the accompanying sauce wasn't hot at all. A shame, because it was well-flavored--just needed a lot more capsaicin. My Cubano was very well done, but barely had any pickle in it, which made me sad. I opted to add fries and wasn't sad about the small, thin ones I got (very McDonald's-shaped). However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. I could've cried with wonder at the bill. Time travel is real guys--at least financially. Just hop into El DeLorean and come to Chango.

Everyone's favorite was the adobada (al pastor), which was juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor and came with a couple strips of pineapple. The nopal was surprisingly delicious too, soft and well seasoned, and the chicken was much better than I expected. Only complaint was that the tortillas weren't as fresh as I was expecting. However, we had them again at the Midtown East location and they were way better there, so maybe we just caught a bad batch.
