I opted for a memelitas with carnitas, carne asada taco, and birria taco. They were all so good! They tasted homemade in the best way, and each taco was loaded with meat. This little food truck is tucked away behind Bunk & Brew Hostel, which was a little challenging to find, but it is worth the effort! Absolutely one of the best taco trucks I've tried. Stopped by on a whim and ended up ordering way more than planned because everything smelled incredible. The tacos were packed with flavor -- perfectly seasoned meat, fresh toppings, and tortillas that tasted like they were just made. The salsa had real heat and depth, not just spice for the sake of spice. You can tell they care about the food. Service was friendly and fast, even with a small line, and prices were more than fair for the portion sizes. This is the kind of spot you come back to and bring friends to. Went to the food truck outside of crosscut- I don't make a lot of reviews but I had to for these chicken taquitos!!! The TAQUITOS WERE SOO GOOD! They are crunchy and fresh and full of moist fresh chicken-- each bite was delicious!! Quick and nice service!! read more

I had high hopes for this place based on the good reviews , but the carne asada street tacos were terrible. The meat was not seasoned, lacked flavor, was super fatty & hard to chew. You can tell it was from a low quality steak. The tacos are also supposed to come with cilantro but they didn't. For $4 a tacos I expected more. On a positive note, the staff is super friendly & nice & it's a cute food truck in a super cool area. I'm sure their other food items are good, since they have a lot of awesome reviews, but unfortunately the tacos weren't it. read more

Bunk & Brew isn't one of the most popular food cart/tap houses in Bend but it hosts one of the better carts in town: Alebrije Oaxaca. Definitely worth a visit. - Quesabirria tacos: these are some of the best birria tacos around. Well prepared, delicious and the tortillas are sublime. The beef consomme added a facet to the flavor profile and while good, really isn't necessary. You have a choice of two 'salsas' (I'd call them hot sauces) - I chose the hot. Very tasty and not wimpy at all. Two tacos is enough for a moderately filling meal. Big eaters might want more. The menu is ripe for exploring, particularly the mole dishes. Prices are reasonable; service is quick and Bend friendly. read more

The Beef Consomme and Quesa Birria blew our mind. We've tried this a few times before at other restaurants and they have been greasy. This food truck did an excellent job at this dish. We think of this dish often and when I am back in the area I plan swing by to get another order. There is a great spot to sit and enjoy your food. There is a stage, I think they have music here sometimes. There is a tent with heaters, which is great because it was freezing when we were here. My 5-star review is really a review of the quesabirria torta! Everything about the sandwich was awesome. The bread remained intact and almost crispy, despite being coated in sauce. The filling was perfectly matched to the size of the bread and stayed inside even when dipping continuously in the consome, which had a really complex flavor going on. The size of the sandwich was also perfect. I'm used to either leaving half a sandwich for later or consuming the entire thing and wish I hadn't lol. This was the prefect amount of food for aa lunch that didn't weigh me down. I've wanted to try this place for a while, but was intimidated by its location and potential parking issues. Turns out, parking was a breeze! There are several parking spaces right next to the food court. You just have to venture down the alley just past Bunk n Brew and avoid other buisiness' parking areas. Now that I know they have close parking and more importantly, how damn good that torta is, I will definitely be back! read more

Little pricey, but good food, friendly staff. Highly recommend the Memelita and Tlayuda with the Carne Asada! The Carnitas were not great, they needed some Buche or chicharron, just lacked flavor, even a little dry for carnitas. Side of pinto beans were good! Rice was a little flavorless. Green salsa was really good. I wish the horchata had been presented with garnishes like the photo on the food cart. If in the area, we'd check it out again. read more

It's definitely 5-star and the best tacos in Bend. We had the 2 Quesabirria Taco specialty with a cup of Consome. Both the beef and pork Birria Tacos were beyond delicious...probably the best we've had, and they were enormous! The price is reasonable and the outdoor seating (with the canines) was nice. the parking situation is a little sketchy, but after you walk past the dumpster and other trash containers all is good. We got a chorizo torta, ado Ada fries, and a side of refried beans for $25. Amazing value for the money. The food cart it's located in kinda gives hobo hangout, but the food was made fast and the staff was amazing! 9.8/10 I only wish the frijoles were a little less dry, but great flavor! read more

Hidden gem in Bend. Legit food and super nice people. We had the tres quesabirria tacos with consommé. It was amazing! I mean AMAZING! Everything was perfectly prepared and piping hot temperature which always makes me happy as some food trucks don't seem to understand the basic food handling concepts. Very friendly service as well. We will 100% be back and recommend to anyone looking for some of the best tacos in Bend. This truck and location is definitely slept on but let's change that. read more

I read about Alebrije Oaxaca in the Source article about quesabirria tacos and had to check them out. I was blown away at the flavor of the consomé and the ridiculously delicious quesabirria tacos. They were perfectly fried on the grill, and stuffed full of tender shredded meat. Two tacos seems to be the perfect amount for me for lunch, and three is only attainable when I'm super hungry. Their salsa is excellent as well. I've taken a half dozen people here since and they're all raving about how great the food is here. The staff are extremely friendly, and they offer things on the menu that you rarely find outside of Mexico. I wish they were in a better location, such as Podksi's or Spoken Moto since parking can be a bit challenging to find nearby. read more

I ordered a carne asada quesadilla. They are not using skirt steak traditionally used for carne asada. 70% of the meat pieces in my quesadilla were pieces of fat. This was likely cheap beef round steak and I cannot believe how many chewy fat chunks there were in it. Giving two stars for the decent taste of the quesadilla after I took the fat off and because this was my first order here, but unfortunately it will be my last. read more

I just was so not impressed with this food truck. Got two burritos and neither was marked so my kid had a bite of mine before we realized which was which. Got forks, knives and napkins, which we didn't need and 6 cups of salsa which was too many. So it was really really spicy and didn't have flavor. My wife liked the enchiladas mole at first but then had to get rid of something gross that was in her mouth. My chicken burrito was really dry and my kid thought the carnitas was just OK. Burritos were advertised as having guacamole and I added sour cream on the phone, and heard the guy repeat it to me, but neither burrito had guacamole nor sour cream. Overall, just not a great experience. No chips either. read more

Friend suggested we try Alebrije Oaxaca for dinner. Wow! Fantastic food. He had memelita with steak. I had QuesaBirria tacos. We also shared a serving of nachos. So much food! Memelita comes with mole sauce and does not skimp on portion size. My QeusaBirria tacos were filled with meat and are grilled for a crispy shell and come with a spicy consomme. The order of nachos was huge. We took enough home to have for lunch the next day. Also got horchata. It is served with pecans and cantaloupe. Never had it that way. Loved it. The only downside is location. A bit hard to find but worth it!! The owner said they might be looking for an additional location. Yes, please! Do I recommend Alebrije? YES!! read more

We ordered food for lunch today to be delivered by delivery service. The driver delivered half the order, and the half that was ordered arrived incorrectly. So we ordered the items we were missing again. A different driver delivered the wrong order again. The item came with meat but we needed a vegetarian item so this is going straight to the trash. Waste of the afternoon with part of household left hungry. We can't recommend a place that delivers orders that are consistently wrong. read more

I would definitely recommend the Queso Birria taco if you visit. It was absolutely fantastic. I also enjoyed the mole enchiladas. The vegan taco was hefty which is awesome to see, you're getting a lot of food packed into that tortilla. I do think it could be way more flavorful, it kind of feels like a salad in a tortilla. There's a bit of avocado crema on top, but it's not enough, nor is the taco itself particularly creative or exciting. The chicken taco similarly just wasn't very flavorful. The truck is in a cool little plaza with a couple other trucks, lots of tables, couches, and a hammock. It's a really great spot to hang out with friends. A boost in the flavor department on some of their items to bring them up to the same level as their bests will solidify this place as a must visit. read more

The orders have been delivered via DoorDash. This restaurant is very near my home. I mention this because the most noticeable thing in ordering delivery from there is that each time, the food has been cold. It is surprising to me that a burrito wrapped in foil would become cold so quickly. The other consistent trait with the food I've ordered from there is that the meat is consistently very salty. The food is neatly packaged. Outside of the saltiness, I've enjoyed the flavors of their food. Plus, I can take the foil off the burritos and heat them in the microwave. I've also had their carne asada plate. I was surprised that instead of sliced steak, it had small cubes of steak (the same as in their burritos). Discussing cost for Don Gabino's is a little complicated. Their costs in restaurant seem to be very reasonable. The cost via DoorDash is not. However, for my last order (today 10/01/2025), there was a discount. Carne Asada Burrito $16.25 Delivery Fee $0.00 Service Fee $0.81 Discount -$2.30 Dasher Tip $6.00 Total $20.76 This left the Carne Asada burrito at $13.95. There was a time I would have scoffed at a baseline burrito costing almost $14 but those days seem to have disappeared. The delivery from Don Gabino's is always fast. DoorDash routinely beats the estimated time of delivery when I order from there. In the end, this is an average burrito at what seems to now be the average burrito price in Bend. It will scratch the burrito itch. This is the Bend based Mexican restaurant I've ordered from the most often.

It comes with scrambled eggs, pinto beans, cheese, hash potatoes, and guacamole and your choice of sauce. I add carnitas. By far this was the biggest and best breakfast burrito I have ever eaten. Other than the Margaritas, the service is awesome, most notably Yuri (sorry if I spelled your name wrong bro) and Edgar. My wife and I primarily go to El Rancho and sit at the bar due to both of them and the service they provide. Always friendly, remember drink orders and names and are extremely genuine... which is a tough thing to find in the hospitality industry these days... especially in touristy Bend. It's nice to be a local and actually feel like a local when you go out to eat, makes the experience a whole lot more inviting. If you're ever in town and want a good atmosphere with solid drinks and good food check out El Rancho in Bend.. they have both a north side and south side location... I frequent the North.

OH MY GOODNESS. This place is worth planning a lunch date for. Did the carnitas tacos(cilantro, onion and I asked for no guacamole). Hubby had same tacos with guacamole. We ordered the chicken mole enchilada meal with rice and beans as well as a Horchata. Let's just say it was yummy beyond yummy. Great flavors. The beans on the dinner plate come out more Ranch Style so they are whole and seasoned which was so light and refreshing. Yes I said refreshing. The fluffy rice was seasoned nicely without bvb taking over. While I am not a big mole' fan I still try it when the hubby orders. Hands down winner in my book. Savory without the overbearing cinnamon or allspice I usually taste. So good hubby had to ask for the plate back. Also, how do you dress up horchata? It is a great desert by itself. Well, here they make it amazing with crushed candied pecans and diced ripe cantaloupe. Holy moly I even kept my ice and sipped on the melt until it was all gone. That's where the sweet should be. A kid came up after we ordered and ordered his horchata w/o, so it's to each their own. The atmosphere is great, location is off the beaten path and could be considered difficult to find. I mention this because the most noticeable thing in ordering delivery from there is that each time, the food has been cold. It is surprising to me that a burrito wrapped in foil would become cold so quickly. The other consistent trait with the food I've ordered from there is that the meat is consistently very salty. The food is neatly packaged. Outside of the saltiness, I've enjoyed the flavors of their food. Plus, I can take the foil off the burritos and heat them in the microwave. I've also had their carne asada plate. I was surprised that instead of sliced steak, it had small cubes of steak (the same as in their burritos). Discussing cost for Don Gabino's is a little complicated. Their costs in restaurant seem to be very reasonable. The cost via DoorDash is not. There was a time I would have scoffed at a baseline burrito costing almost $14 but those days seem to have disappeared. The delivery from Don Gabino's is always fast. DoorDash routinely beats the estimated time of delivery when I order from there. In the end, this is an average burrito at what seems to now be the average burrito price in Bend.
