I've been coming to Parrilla Grill for about 25 years now and it's still just as good as I remember. The food is consistently great and I honestly can't think of a time I've been disappointed. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean, and the vibe is exactly what you want in a local Bend spot. If you go, the fish tacos are a must. The clam chowder is excellent too, and the Wrap of Khan has been a go-to for me for years. Parrilla is one of those places that just keeps doing everything right. What the heck happened to this place? It used to be cool and grungy after a long day on the mountain. Great tasting food, some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. I used to recommend this place to everyone that visited. Now the food quality is average at best and the inside vibe is just a bunch of girly paintings on the walls. Stopped by here for lunch on Friday after Thanksgiving. Basic restaurant where you order up front get a number and wait on food. Three of us ordered burritos and one a bowl. I got the Nashville burrito which came with hot fried chicken, tots, pickles, and cabbage. Very large burritos. The bowl was fajita fixings in a bowl with slaw. My wife said it needed cilantro and salsa to add to dish. Our son got the wrath of khan burrito which was chicken and slaw in a peanut sauce. I tasted it and it had a nice Thai flavor. Our DIL got a spicy beef and hot cheese with jalapeños. Said it was definitely spicy. Didn't really like paying three dollars for chips and salsa. read more

The food is fresh. The service is friendly. The heated benches and heat lamps on the sheltered patio are nice on a chilly day. Also, I'm a yes to their clam chowder (yes, at a taqueria). It's so good and complements the fish tacos. read more

What can I say. I live in southern Oregon but when I visit Bend which is about 1-2 times a year I look forward to one thing - eating Parrilla Grill. Fish tacos and the Fish taco burrito are incredible. The best I've ever had. The El Heffe Burrito - standard fried battered fish burrito is amazing. If I lived in Bend I'd eat here weekly. My wife often orders other bowl (she must eat gluten free) and they have lots of options. She's never been unhappy with her meals either. Just a great place. In my experiences, which have been a handful now, things on the menu sound much better than they taste, and are overpriced for the quality, so taste and price could improve. I've only tried 3 of the wraps, and the refried beans are flavorless as well as the salsa verde. If you are looking for a good bean and cheese I would suggest taco salsa across the street. read more

Hello taste? TASTE...Where are you?? My fam went out to eat pho & promised they'd get me a fat vegetarian burrito on their way back to the hotel. Showed up with this thing. $8 for a tortilla with black beans, flavorless white rice, red cabbage & cheese. Maybe there was a dribble of sour cream? I couldn't taste it, but I saw a little white stuff. It honestly tasted of just cheese. The website says the rice is cilantro lime rice but it doesn't taste of ANYTHING. I managed to eat 1/3 of it because I was empty, but it was not enjoyable. I wish I had stuck with the can of Annie's ravioli I had leftover from camping. read more

Wife got the recommended fish burrito with black beans and I got the carnitas and no beans. I would think that for a $14 dollar burrito that the protein would be a decent portion but with both burritos it was a very small amount. I ordered the 3 fish tacos meal, which was very good until I noticed a hair inside of the second taco. I pulled it out and kept moving, thinking no dramas, these things happen. Half way through the third taco, I noticed another hair and pulled it out. Such a bummer. I went inside to let the kitchen know about the situation and the person I spoke with didn't seem to care. I can confidently say this place is a must stop in! I came in, ordered, sat down and maybe 5-6 minutes later my food was out. Super fast and super good! These were loaded with crunchy breaded fish and a mixture of all sorts of good veggies not to mention the sauce in them. Spicy but the perfect thing to pair with the tacos! This place used to be THE restaurant in bend to hit after a day of riding the mountain or a long hike or whatever outdoor activity you choose. No longer. Menu is completely revamped. Vibe is completely different. Went here again today trying to relive some of that nostalgia. Ordered some mahi tacos and kombucha on tap. Girl at the register served me a hard cider instead of kombucha. Figured out I was served alcohol about half way in to my drink. Bummer because I was driving and I don't like to drink alcohol. Pretty big miss to serve an alcoholic beverage instead of a non-alcoholic kombucha. Food was mediocre. And they were out of the poke bowl I was hoping to order. I don't know why I keep going to this place. They don't do a great job anymore. Pretty good spot for inexpensive "fast" food. The tots are amazing especially with the corn topping. The clam chowder also hits the spot as well. So I find this place on Yelp, address, phone number, what could possibly go wrong? I call..."for our uptown location press One, our midtown location press Two...". And I have absolutely no idea what to press. Can you give me at least an address? I call a couple of times and finally figure out the location. But my low rating isn't for this annoyance. Here are the two burritos I tried: The Red Head (chicken) - so incredibly spicy that no other flavor could be discerned in the dish, and my mouth was burning for 10 minutes after. My daughter took me to Parilla a few years ago and I was looking forward to going again when I heard about an ownership/management change(?) that coincided with some less than favorable reviews. Finally tried it again the other day and I am happy to say that we did enjoy ourselves despite one glitch. Since the rest of the party hadn't been there before it took some time to consider the menu and order. Finally we settled on a burrito, a jambalaya bowl, the fish tacos and chicken tacos. Order in, we went outside to wait for the order. A few minutes later (less than we expected to wait) one of the staff came out and apologized for the delay. There was a problem with preparing the rice for the burrito and jambalaya. Not two minutes later another staff member came out and again apologized, this time informing us that their rice cooker was out. She offered to change our order or substitute for the rice. She also offered a gift card as compensation. A few minutes later we had our entrees, including a burrito and jambalaya sub tator tots for rice (kids!). The tacos were good, guacamole was fresh and chunky, and the kids split on theirs, burrito was a hit, but tots didn't do so great with the jambalaya. Before we could really get started the last person we talk to returned with a gift certificate for just under 70% of our check. If the stars were just food I would have easily said three stars (rice would not have tipped it to four) for good but not exceptional fare. The fact that they quickly let us know there was a delay, then didn't waste time trying to work around the equipment failure, and completely un-prompted offered a very generous gift card made four stars the right call. We're looking forward to returning and being able to try the food as it's intended. Oh, as of 6/23 their website is not available, hope to see that change soon. read more

I feel sorry doing this but i owe it to the public. This place changed ownership got rid of the staff and took a complete nose dive. The worst thing about it is they are trying to hang on to the old original menu items and specials and put zero effort into learning how to actually cook or prepare these dishes. I ordered their corn beef st Patrick's day wrap which i had gotten the year before. This time the wrap was made with massive cubes chunks of the "corn beef brisket".... cut against the grain. It would have taken 2 seconds to google "how to cook corned st Patrick's day corned beef". They also slathered cheddar cheese all over this "corned beef brisket" and potatoes and didn't even offer mustard. Again a simple google search about corned beef snd cabbage ....... mustard. Not cheese. Look it up. I understand they're mindlessly going off the previous ownerships old menu but at least offer half way effort. Corned beef cabbage and potatoes on st Patrick's day isn't rocket science... This was a mainstay in Bend and now it's a tourist trap. They upped all prices and the quality is significantly worse the food feels like it was prepared by someone who has never cooked before. No thanks for $15 without a drink.. read more

It took them 35-40 min to make 3 orders of tacos.. It wasn't even busy in there. Don't waste your time going to this place, not worth it.

The fish tacos were literally a fish stick with McDonald's Mac sauce 0/10 would never recommend! Ate two bits and threw it away.

Great food. But the wait times are extremely long. Not more than 10 people in the restaurant and our food still took over 45 minutes.

I'm done. I tried to give Parilla multiple chances but after my last order, which was apparently the white rice burrito, I given up all hope. Just like the old Bend is gone, so is the old Parilla. R.i.p. you will be missed. read more
