LOVED THIS LOUNGE! The ambiance was grown and classy, with an amazing musical playlist running in the background. The happy hour was lovely and the snacks were perfect. We indulged in fries, drinks, sliders, and patties. Will definitely be back, the service felt so personalized.

This place was such a vibe; from the decor, to the drinks and the DJ! I went for happy hour which starts at 6. The drinks are half off for happy hour and they're worth it. Well-crafted cocktails and small bites, perfect for after work. Good love is the sister lounge to Isla, which is right next door.

After hearing great things about this place, my boyfriend surprised me with an after dinner drink. Ambiance: breathtaking! The decor gives an eclectic vibes with its mixture of cheetah prints, bold art, sultry fabrics, and perfect mood lighting. I immediately fell in love!!! Staff: service was great! Very friendly hostess and our waitress Genesis was funny and welcoming. Now, why did I remove 2 stars. Well it was simply because my cocktail was a huge miss. Also, the cocktail list was very limited so I didn't have an urge to order anything aside from the drink that I got. I ordered the Buon Amore Spritz which contained lemon cane sugar and sadly that wasn't what this drink needed. It was missing an essential bitters of some sort to bring the flavors together. I could strongly taste cane sugar, making the drink taste and feel like flavored sugar water. Not the best My boyfriend ordered the Old Money, which he loved! I took a sip and actually enjoyed it myself. Would I return? Probably to try their wines, which was way more expansive. Also to try their small bites.

Good Love is off to a good start!! As far as I know, it's the sister speakeasy lounge to Isla Restaurant, and it is a whole moody, relaxed, upscale vibe. I think it's on trend of restaurants offering a 2nd location dedicated to a more relaxed, after work, lite bites, happy hour atmosphere. And Im here for it. It's nice to have a nearby location to chill immediately before or after dinner and enjoy a comparable experience to the restaurant, without having to worry about being rushed to/from your table. The service was spectacular, and our server M was very knowledgeable of the menu options. The decor is plush, and velvety, with gold and auburn and orange hues. 1 star deduction for not having any mocktail options on the menu. And I overheard a staff member loudly remark, "ordering a mocktail is craazzzyyy", when my server asked for their help ringing up the mocktail in their system. This was just flat out unprofessional and distasteful. Isla offers mocktails, so why wouldn't I inquire if GoodLove has a mocktail selection as well. However, our server offered some off menu mocktail options after I asked. Also, side note-there is one single unisex bathroom, and on the floor, near the toilet, is a drain, so beware because the (high) heel of your shoe can get stuck in the drain grate. Finally, the Drinks are pricey... Overall, I highly recommend! Yelp pro tip: there's a side door to enter Good Love, that is directly across from Isla Restaurant entrance, so you don't have walk around the front of the building.

The decor is gorgeous, the lighting is low and could be a great date spot but the music is loud. I stopped in for a happy hour drink during the week and I was pleasantly surprised how late their happy hour runs. We got two rounds of drinks, all were good. The bartender was very attentive and helpful with questions. This is a great place is stop by before or after your dinner reservation.

If you are looking for a grown and sexy cocktail bar, then this is your spot. I love the fact that it's dark inside and they usually have a DJ on the weekends. They also have happy hour on the weekends as well. They have a classic drink menu and then they have a drink menu, which is a little bit more futuristic with a twist. They have a small food menu and the food comes from the restaurant Isla. I had the hamburger beef patties and they were delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Bartender Nick G, had made my first experience at Good Love unpleasant after he inconvenienced me for charging my entire party's bill to my card... when I wanted to only pay for my singular drink... Ambiance is fantastic and the drinks were great! But next time maybe ask before assuming :( my party was very annoyed by this. You can be busy and still ask one clarifying question...

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

There's smoke, fire, color transformations, unexpected vessels, house infusions, and plenty of moments that make you stop and ask, "Wait...what are they about to do?" The concept carries throughout the entire menu but what impressed me most is that the presentation didn't feel like a replacement for the actual cocktails. The flavors still showed up! I tried a few drinks and each gave me a completely different experience. The Banana Bread Rum Old Fashioned was probably my biggest surprise. I don't usually gravitate toward Old Fashioneds because they can be a little spirit-forward for my taste, but the banana, coconut, and walnut notes made this one incredibly approachable. It genuinely reminded me of banana bread while still drinking like a cocktail. Killer Sally was another standout... Gin and I have a complicated relationship, so I wasn't expecting this to be one of my favorites. The lavender, lemon, and rhubarb balanced the gin beautifully, and the flaming garnish was a perfect show! Give Me Butterflies was playful, bright, and citrusy... another gin cocktail I surprisingly enjoyed. It's made with house-infused butterfly pea gin and lemon. Served in a beaker with a beautiful color-changing element. It The atmosphere was intimate, dark, and perfect for the concept, and sitting there watching cocktails smoke, glow, change color, and catch fire makes the bar genuinely fun to experience. If you love creative cocktails but still care about what's happening inside the glass, The Alchemist is absolutely worth adding to your DC cocktail list. I already know I'll be back because there are way too many things on that menu I still need to try.

The drinks tasted watered down and unbalanced. The banana flavor in mine was dull and overripe rather than fresh and vibrant. The smoke and fire presentation was nice, but the actual cocktails did not justify the $25 price point. The restroom was unacceptable. There was urine on the floor, a strong foul odor, and the surface was slippery. For a speakeasy positioning itself as upscale, this was a major miss. The space is very small and service was just okay. Overall, the concept has potential, but the execution did not meet expectations. I will not be returning.

We arrived around midnight Our ID's were checked at the front and were told that last call was at 12:15am despite the bar closing at 1am. It was extremely humid and hot (like even more humid and hot than the outside at that time). All of the tables/booths were closed off, so only bar seating was available. There was only 1 bartender and 1 barkeeper, with the bartender being clearly overwhelmed. He stated that he couldn't make any complicated drinks (likely implying the specialty cocktails), so we just ordered simple classic cocktails including an old fashioned and gin & tonic. I was surprised that last call occurred 45 minutes prior to closing, seeming to apply to both food and drinks (given the bartender's comment). Despite this, I was surprised we were even let in if last call was about to occur. Didn't spend much time here but please see the attached for menu photos.

I know reservations are probably highly recommended, but we were fortunate to walk in at just the right moment and snag a seat. The seating is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. Jordan and the team were incredibly knowledgeable about both the drinks and food menu, offering suggestions that perfectly matched our tastes.
