Chips and guac. To die for!
Kaylyn D.

A WHOLE VIBE!!! The tacos and guac are soooo good!! Do not be fooled by the appearance of the pork belly tacos. They are amazing! Not sure if I care for the drinks.. my espresso martini tasted like espresso, no martini. but the vibe of this place is so good!! Also, it's a plus that moxy is right below and that's an even better vibe!! However, the food and drinks are too expensive. Gratuity already included. DJ doesn't appear until 9pm... the price tag makes it hard to enjoy but otherwise.. enjoy! lol

The service was quite horrid. We tried to order countless times and no server available. It took 30 minutes to get waters. The tortillas on our tacos were cold and the server never informed us that the plates were scolding hold and burned my friend's arm.

Recently visited this rooftop bar during my stay at the Moxy in DC. Although my stay at the hotel was a nightmare, visiting this restaurant/bar was probably the best part of being there. The restaurant is on the rooftop. You cannot reach it without being granted access by the person at the desk on the lobby level near the elevator. This is a huge inconvenience to hotel guest who want to go, as you are forced to go to the lobby first before you can get to the rooftop. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Flowers sit on the ceiling, nice round booth chairs, and great views of the city. During my first visit earlier in the day, we ate guac, chicken + shrimp tacos, & tres leches. The tacos were just okay. The chicken was better than the shrimp and the guac was cool but had no real flavor. The tres leches was the star of the show. It was some of the best I've had. I also had a mocktail which tasted as straight up pineapple juice with some foam on top. Our server was an absolute sweetheart, but could use some training on the register. We asked for our bill to be split evenly between two cards. Also advised him if this was an issue to just put on one card. He said he could do the split but ended up splitting and STILL putting the entire bill on one card lol we ended up going back later that evening, as they have a DJ that comes a few nights of the week. We had a BALL that night! The dj bought us a round of shots and I also had a mango lemon drop that was so tasty. I would for sure go back to vibe to the dj and drinks, as well as dessert but not so much for food.

I stayed at Moxy hotel and did not feel like leaving so decided to try Lucha Rosa Rooftop Bar. I went down to the lower level and was lucky because they were only 3 people in line to Get on the elevator to go to the rooftop. After exiting the elevator I had to wait in line while the party ahead of me was being seated. But that was fine because it gave me a chance to Take in the ambiance of Lucha Rosa. The decor is super cute and great for taking photos. There was no available outside seating so I was seated inside. I sat for at least 10 minutes before the very abrupt and kinda rude guy came over and asked if someone helped me. I said no. I was handed a menu and was expected to place my order right away. I was asked for a card to start the order. The guy walked away after I gave him my card and drink order. He came back after another 10 minute wait with my card and drink. I placed an order chicken tinga tacos ( 4/10), guac and chips (7/10), and blanco queso (8/10). No one came back to assist me. I had to get up and ask the hostess for my Check so that I could close out. The music was really good. Disappointing the service was horrible ! I had high hopes for this location.

I've been to Lucha Rosa twice . I recently went to a birthday party on a Thursday night and was completely blown away! This Mexican inspired rooftop cocktail bar in downtown DC had everything: fresh ceviches, tacos, margaritas, and incredible skyline views. The atmosphere was lively, the DJ kept the energy just right, and the vibes were unmatched. And yes, ladies, there were plenty of men too!

Espresso Martini

I don't understand the hype, although I have to say, I went on a Monday evening...the menu is very limited, especially the food menu. I ordered a espresso martini and it was really good. They do have a nice roof top with nice views, you can see the Washington Monument from there. Prices are not outrageous but definitely on the higher end.

Churros
Kia D.

Decent vibe. I came on an evening without DJ. Decent food. No happy hour, automatic gratuity added on any tab. Parking garages nearby.

Such a nice place for chill vibes on the weekend. I went for a day party hosted by Afrocode and the location could not have been a better introduction to the summer season. There were 3 bar tenders willing and able to serve the entire evening. Our favorite was their namesake drink, The Lucha Rosa which my friend and I had 6 between us; shows how good it was. Not too spicy and just the right level of sweetness offering the perfect balance. The churros were soft, flakey, and sugary on their own that we did not even use much of the chocolate sauce that it came with. We also tried the limonada de guava and vaquero which was really good. Will definitely be returning.

Chips & salsa

Food wasn't good. Server was interesting. Nonchalant & "cool" with shades on. I wasn't moved. Not that attentive. Great view though. Music was solid. I've been for R&B nights, I was there for dinner during the food portion. R&B nights separately. They should definitely do crowd control up top on evenings.

Chips and Guacamole , Mezcal Beverage -- 8/10!

I've come here a few times, and I really like the vibes of the rooftop! Some nights they have a live dj and they set the ambiance to be really nice. They have great drinks and great service! Their guacamole is really yummy, too. Overall, I give this place a solid 8/10. The food could be better.

A nice day calls for a nice rooftop bar and my partner in crime always has a spot to frequent! Drinks were amazing! No happy hour menu but the view is stunning! The bartender was cool! They do have a check in award so we munched on free guacamole! I'm Latina so I was in Heaven! My Beau did not think it was great, to be fair it was good just not anything to write home about, especially my mama. She might agree with him. Overall good service, good view, pretty patrons, and good pours; it's definitely a place to be!

Anne C.

I always have the best time at Lucha Rosa. It offers a great view, service and drinks.

Nita D.

Lucha is such a cute spot! The vibes were really good. When my friend and I decided to eat here we honestly wanted to try everything on the menu. We opted for the guac and decided to try all the tacos lol! We were able to split everything. Our favorite one was the veggie taco. Our least favorite was the pork taco. For the price we felt like the portion size was good. The service was good. Our waiter was nice and accommodating even though it was crowded.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

The food at this location was great. The red snapper with the rice and tomatoes was very flavorful. The red snapper could have been cooked a little harder. However, other than that it was great. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic.
