I sat at a table but was directed to sit by the window a few minutes later due to the fact I was using a laptop. I certainly don't mind clearing space to accommodate other customers, however I found this peculiar given there was only one additional party in the cafe and ample open tables. Have been wanting to try this places since we recently moved to the area and finally got to today! I love how convenient it is to walk to, it was very chic and quiet on the inside with sofas to sit and do work or tables for a quick bite in and outside! We were helped by a lady that was very sweet and you can tell she genuinely cares about her customers experiences and preferences. I'm a sucker for local coffee shops and will pay premium price for a good latte. Thankfully Alegrito's is the closest coffee shop near me. The place is run by a few Russian ladies who are always friendly. I usually order a cold latte with 2 shots of espresso and whole milk. Always hits the spot. I find the syrups a little sweet (the usual torani coffee syrups) so I generally go without. The place is a nice cafe with ample seating during the day and is a perfect place to get your work done. Bring your laptop and stay for a few hours, I don't think the owner will mind. Alegrito's also serves food and alcohol but I have yet to try either. Until a new local coffee shop opens near the area, I'll be sticking with alegrito's. read more

Came here for a coffee date. The cafe itself is very cute, small but cute. It was a quite Friday afternoon so not many customers. The staff was very nice. Today I was craving matcha latte so on my way home from a wonderful massage I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance, very cozy and I was also pretty impressed by the option for alcohol. Anyway I ordered my latte and was ready to Apple Pay and the lady said it was a $10 minimum, I only had $5 cash. The nice guy sitting by the window even offered to help me with the change but the owner said not to worry about paying and enjoy, she was so nice about it and she insisted. I was so thrown off because you know it's hard to get anything free in America. So I said thank you and I dropped the $5 in the tip jar. I found a new favorite breakfast ALL day Cafe! Very courteous and professional service. An impressively creative interior decor. The best I've seen for cafes. Originally I would give this business 4 stars based on the food, ambiance and service however the issue is the billing. Beware of the bill when you order. I came into the cafe on a weeknight where there was only 3 customers in the place. I was immediately directed to use the window seating from the wait staff as I was working on my laptop for an hour. I ordered hot tea and a walnut pastry which was both very good. The ambience is nice and cozy with open brick and clean space. The drink and food was provided by the wait staff though it would have easily been pickup in many cafes. When paying my bill, I was told it came out to $10.22 though I was paying cash. Cost of food: $8.25 Service Charge: $1.24 Operating Fee: $.41 Total $10.63 Discounted Cash Total: $.41 Grand Total: $10.22 The "Operating Fee" is the credit card charge which is at the cashier counter. The automatic service charge was not. I was not told about the service charge although I usually tip even though I didn't ask for service. It would have been better if the business stated it upfront. PS The window seating has wooden stools so if you have issues with seating then it will uncomfortable for any long time sitting. read more

The interior was spacious with nice decor, seats were very comfy. It is a great place to catch up with friends or to people watch (if you are sitting on the stool area facing 65th street). There is also free wifi here if you sit in. Staff was very friendly and attentive - welcoming and thanking every customer. We tried a cup of black coffee, cappuccino and Nonni's biscotti. What does one do when they wake up on a weekend morning, crave coffee, but feeling L-A-Z-Y? This was my first time using the delivery option on my yelp app. So I rolled all the way over on the side of the bed where my phone is and order lattes. This way the caffeine can be delivered to my bedside. Okay maybe not my bedside but to the door, I guess if they're bringing me the latte I can at least put on pants and answer the door for the delivery person. I just can't guarantee if I brushed my teeth or not. The app recommend this coffee shop and at this time it was free delivery. So I was sold. Took me a whole 2 minutes but I do like this coffee shop letting me choose my sweetener and milk options. My only wish was it would specify the sugar would be on the side, I assumed it would be added already. But no biggie! I could track my caffeine from bed: from when the coffee shop got my order, when it was prepared, and when it was on its way. The lattes arrived with a straw bent in half to plug the sipper hole on the lid, super smart to keep it hot and not spill. Now that I've had my caffeine, I can be a human now and start my day. This place is the definition of classy in the front, PARTY IN THE BACK. In the morning, it is a beautiful, laid back and relaxing cafe. They serve the classics including cappuccinos, lattes and fruit teas. Now when the sun is goes down, the lights get dimmer and this cafe turns into a full fledged bar! Morning or night, this place sets the right mood. There is also a food menu if anyone is starving I arrived at around 3pm to meet up with a friend and there were about 5 people at this cafe. Unfortunately, I found the tea to be pretty bland, without either a tea or fruity aftertaste. Coming from an Asian household, I am very used to STRONG, IN YOUR FACE tea flavors so I was a bit disappointed in that it tasted watered down. However, they use fresh fruit in their teas and it was also a beautiful drink so it was alright. I will definitely be trying out their coffees next time because my friend highly recommends them. I kept passing this place by on the way to work and finally went in to check it out. So the coffee is delicious! I had a vanilla latte and loved it. Best thing is they offer alternative milks which is a big plus in my book. They have almond, soy, and yes OAT milk (that's my fav). They have breakfasts as well which are on the healthy side. Lots of fresh veggies, which is always a great thing. They also offer fresh teas with fruit, flavors vary by day. It's certainly cozy and perfect for a small group of gal pals brunching =) I also noticed they have a full bar... which was weird because I thought it was just a cute little coffee place. A small and delightful cafe off the corner street on Bay Parkway serving up healthy sandwiches and crepes. This Russian cafe offers hearty food items that leaves you feeling full and satisfied without the caloric guilt. Got their Mushroom Omlette, strawberry Banana crepe, and a cup of cuppucino. All came out fairly quick and done perfectly. Cafe boast some very comfy chairs that makes you feel relaxed and inviting. There have been many changes to this establishment since the first time I came here a few months ago. The layout of the place has changed and the menus as well. The vibe was always great for studying and working but with the music change and the new layout of the store, this place became a true cafe I can see myself venturing to again and again. Charger ports are abundant if you sit near the walls. The raspberry iced fruit tea I ordered was delicious (it comes with real fruit pieces). We ordered 2 espresso martinis and a Nutella crepe with strawberries. The martinis had not been made well. A strong flavor of straight vodka, not blended with the espresso. The crepes were good but for some reason they were cold? as if they'd been sitting in a fridge waiting for someone to order them. I'd recommend that management hire some help considering there was only 1 person working, who as we sat down at 7:00 told us they close at 9:00 even though the hours listed are til 11. She was taking orders preparing the food, cleaning up, and serving which would be understandable why the experience wasn't the best and also explained why she wasn't there for the first half hour when we wanted to place an order. read more

Our neighborhood does not have many spots like this so we were happy to have had such a great experience. Service was quick, the restaurant was clean and the decor made you feel like you were at a cafe in Europe. We both got iced coffees which came in a large glass and tasted really good and fresh. I got a plain croissant which had a slightly sweet taste to it and my partner ordered the avocado toast which comes with an egg on top that they cut out into an adorable flower shape. They've been open for less than a few weeks, so the menu is still limited, but the barista made me a very solid soy latte. Dairy free options include soy milk and almond milk, at no extra charge, which is always appreciated. They also have a small selection of pastries. The shop is spacious and clean with ample, comfortable seating. There's a couch nook and free wifi, which I'll definitely be frequenting on days I'm working remotely. Keep it up, guys! read more

I use to live around the area but Alegrito wasn't established back then. My friend who lives nearby told me about Alegrito, so we made a study date. I arrived at around 1:30pm on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all. The drink I ordered was a soy matcha latte with honey and I had an avocado on toast. They use actual matcha powder prepared the traditional way which is a major plus. I paid $4.95 for my latte and ~$9 for my toast, they have a 10% off for the first time checking in! The decor is super cute and there's a lot of space/outlets for students to study/work. Additionally, the workers were very welcoming. They also use real flower decorations..which was bad for me because I have bad pollen allergies. I decided to take my two kids, mom, and A here for breakfast one morning since it's close by our house. When entering, we found plenty of seating with only one table taken. The decor is super cute with a Christmas tree still up, which my older one loved. Really cozy and homey vibes. We were brought menus by one of the two ladies working and after deciding on what we wanted, I brought our menus back and ordered at the bar. We asked for avocado toast, an avocado salad, a rotisserie chicken sandwich, an iced fruit tea, and a hot green tea. First, I was very surprised by the fruit tea, which tasted really fresh and sweet, but not too sweet. Their hot teas are all organic, which I liked too. It didn't take long for our food to come out except for my chicken sandwich, which we thought was taking a long time because they were roasting the chicken lol. The place filled up really quickly with many people quickly coming in and they were busy so we gave them some time but it turns out they forgot it and apologized. It turned out to be chicken cold cuts but it tasted good with a lot of mayo and cheese along with the chicken and very fresh veggies, which was apparent in the salad too.
