I've been here a handful of times over the past few years. Most recently I went this past weekend. We got a large order of queso, to have with our chips and salsa. It is definitely a generous portion and was more than enough for the two of us! I ordered the shrimp tacos for my entree. They were filling and had good flavor. The side of rice was kinda bland. Service overall was good. We went around 1pm on Sunday, so it wasn't very crowded. It did take a while to pay the check because our waiter disappeared for a bit, but we weren't in a hurry to leave, so it worked out. read more

We had dinner here before seeing a comedy show nearby. While the service was fine - we found the food to be fairly bland. The standard Chips & Salsa were brought out after we were seated. It was pretty good. The chips & salsa tasted fresh and the salsa had a nice little kick to it. My husband and his friend both ordered a beer, I ordered a bourbon. For our entrees - I ordered the Shrimp Tacos, my husband ordered the Camarones Diabla and his friend ordered the Burrito Lover. All of us had shrimp in our dishes and found that the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. But everything just lacked flavor. And my husband's dish should've been quite spicy and it had barely any heat to it. My shrimp tacos were ok but fairly flavorless. Overall - the service was fine and the food was just ok. Went on Sunday afternoon expecting the place to be busy (every other place in Harrison was) but there were only a few cars in the parking lot. Sat at the bar and had to have someone go find the bartender. Service was lacking, food was lacking and the area behind the bar looked like an unorganized mess. Boy as soon as you walk in friendly staff is there to greet you. This small Resturant is so cute on the inside. The decor and seating layout is very thoughtful for a private dining experience. In the summer they have a lot of out door seating as well. Today I tried the pomegranate Margarita on special. Welp, it was different and good but I still love my favorite lime Margarita. And I might add it was very tasty, a little heavy on the sweet side. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I'm thankful for my waiters tip. I usually order the Chicken Chimichanga, but he recommended the deluxe. It has chicken, shrimp and more. Its my new favorite! It's always a good time at El Mariachi! The staff and service is friendly and nothing short of amazing. The restaurant is following safety protocols when it comes to mask wearing and sanitizing. First thing is first, I can't get enough of the chips and salsa that is immediately brought over to me upon sitting down at my table. Wow they are good - especially when the spiciness of the salsa is curbed with a big sip of margarita! The margaritas are great at El Mariachis and are a must have but are quite overpriced. I'm not sure if they have drink deals during the week but they didn't when I went on a Saturday. The menu is overwhelmingly large but I settled on a classic steak fajita dish and was not disappointed! The steak was tender and the tortillas were deliciously fresh. This is definitely big enough for two people to split if you order an extra set of tortillas. If you are not in the mood to split, they make GREAT leftovers! My friends and I love to come after work to grab a discounted margarita and some of the best quest. service is always the best and I've never had a bad experience. I simply love El Mariachis, the atmosphere is casual, the staff takes good care of you, the portions are huge so you'll be taking some home. They start you off with the best salsa and warm chips of just about anywhere, they're addicting. There is a ton of Mexican food to choose from and the burrito loco is absolutely delicious, it's huge and well cooked. The steak fajitas are really really good with a ton of flavor, and there is a lot. Usually take home a bunch. The kids menu needs a bit of tweaking but it satisfies my kids every time. My wife and I have been to this restaurant several times over the years and we knew the food would be good. However this time we had to get up and leave. Hostess seated us with menus and the lady brought over the usual chips and salsa. We waited about five minutes before our waiter came over and took our drink order of two waters. He said he'd be back with our waters and would take our food order. So we're eating the chips and salsa for over ten minutes and never did see our waiter again. No, but good for Ohio Mexican ;) The salsa varies - can be spicy at times. (I like those times) I like the bits of onion and cilantro. This time I had the seafood chimichanga - could have used more seafood but had good crunch and texture. Load it up with guacamole and chalula = good eats!
