Bummer. I reached out to Alek back in May 2023 for an E46 M3 SMG to Manual Conversion. We corresponded both through email and phone and I agreed to move forward with the quoted amount. Gave them my credit card over the phone and then, radio silence! Absolutely nothing. I followed up with multiple emails, voicemail, and still nothing. I'm seriously baffled by the lack of communication and unprofessionalism. With a plan of spending thousands of dollars at this shop and then to receive this type of treatment is seriously disappointing. I should've listen to my intuition when I first called the shop and it was a Google voice number. I echo same of comments that others mentioned. Be careful trusting this business. I brought my M3 to Alekshop to have their Rear and Front camera system installed with the Multimedia unit. Got the system installed, got the rearview camera, didn't get the front camera (didn't have available), and the multimedia unit can only be used as a rearview camera with F***** up angle! I questioned him on his advertisement per his website! He repeatedly kept saying this would only work as a backup camera, I said "Well, that is not what you are advertising!" Now he doesn't pick up my calls through Google connect, don't go to this shop, he will ripe you off. Save you your money, find another shop that will do a better job! I paid over 1K and didn't get what I wanted and it's just really bad service, they don't stand behind their product! read more

I recently had a rear backup camera installed in my car. My inquiries about product compatibility, features and scheduling were responded to promptly. The shop is clean and installation was done in a timely fashion. I opted to wait at the shop, although they did offer to drive me over to Starbucks while they worked on my car. My car looked EXACTLY like it did when I brought it in - no dings, no dents, no scratches, no errant bits of wiring debris left in my car. Nothing rattles in the dash or center console that didn't rattle before. To date, the camera does exactly what it's supposed to and I'm very pleased with the work. We did have one minor communication mishap that was rectified fairly quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alekshop to anyone looking to get aftermarket parts installed in their performance vehicle. read more

My car was stolen on Christmas and then recovered. I went to Alekshop for inspection. I asked for full inspection in advance detailed to suspension and brake and they agreed. But what they actually did was just OBD scan and visual inspection(only cosmetic)overall just 10min. Yet they charged it for $500. Honestly I could have done OBD scan myself at home. They told me car was fine but later on was found brake failure at the other shop. Tried to contact Alekshop but got no response from them. Really disappointed and please avoid. read more

I came here for a rear camera. The installer was friendly and it looks like a pretty clean install from the outside. But there were some issues with the camera. First, after shifting from reverse the video signal was lost for 20 seconds before I could see any of the car's normal displays again (GPS, menus, etc.). Second, the image is very low to the street, nothing like the view a normal backup would give you. When the installation was finished the guy couldn't reach Alek, the owner, but he said Alek would email me my receipt. But he didn't. I called and emailed and did finally get a call back from Alek saying I could fix the problem with the loss of video signal in the settings but it was too complicated to explain over the phone and he would email me the manual. But he never did. I have called and emailed repeatedly (it's been a week now) and still have no receipt or owner's manual, nor an answer to the question about the poor angle of the camera. This was an expensive camera and install, but it would have been worth it to get a good quality product and good service, but that is not what I have received. I messed around with the settings myself and was able to fix the problem with the video signal, but I'm still unhappy with the angle of the camera, and I feel that I'm going to be stuck with that or return the whole thing and get a system somewhere else. read more

I have visited Alek Shop since he used to be in Pleasanton. About 6-7 years ago. He installed my back up camera in 2009 and multimedia mod. Both work great. No issues. I have visited other shops for simple issues before and Alek has always had the best quality work. He doesn't hire help at $11/hr to rotate and balance tires. I visit the shop often as I have 3 M cars and he has worked on all 3. When ever I show up, I have never seen him in his office sitting in a chair. He usually has his head in side a BMW or Porsche. Never tries to up sell. He is very busy and you will need to make an appt. His prices are very low compared to others. He does this by not having additional office staff. Since my initial review, I've returned the cameras. Alekshop hasn't returned ANY of the money. I'll send him a demand letter and then probably report this to the better business bureau and, if necessary, the small claims court in Freemont, CA. If that happens, I'll seek attorneys' fees and court costs along with the direct damages. I wonder how he'll answer a judge: "So, Mr. Dovbnya, why do you think that it's okay to keep the money and the returned item as a means to unjustly enrich yourself?" read more

Carlsen Porsche charged me $100 to tell me that the check engine light came from a O2 sensor fault and I should change them all for $3500. They didn't even bother to check and tell me which sensors are bad and just wanted to take my money. I towed the car to Alekshop and Aleks found out it was just a bad fuse. Saved me $3500 which replacing the sensors wouldn't have helped because the fuse wold still cause the check engine light. Aleks took my car in on short notice and stayed late to finish it for me so I can sell my car to the new owner Saturday. He saved my sale while Carlsen and Stevens Creek Porsche almost ruined my sale. read more

In addition to a few other electrical fixes, I had him build my custom Valentine 1 in-mirror setup about a month ago, which is PHENOMENAL. He provided me with a loaner mirror while he was doing the build, and then, since I live and work in Southern California, he drove down here and I met him at his buddy's shop, where I watched and helped him with the install. I brought my 335d here on a few recommendations after the dealer had my car for a whole week (with full factory warranty) and failed to resolve a problem with the rear of my car wobbling while driving. This wobbling was driving me mad. Aleks found an issue with my subframe and fixed it same day along with installing my 19s and an alignment. Boy was I happy that he found what the problem was and fixed it. My car drives much better and I don't have to worry about the rear bouncing or wobbling over bumps. Aleks is cool, very knowledgable and seems honest. His shop is super clean and I was impressed with the nice M cars he was working on. The dealer is a joke. Finally had the chance to visit Alekshop to get some work done on my E60 M5. Although I have known Aleks for a while, I never had a chance to have him perform any work on my car. Recently though, my car's brakes had been consistently squeaking, got them inspected, and it turns out my rotors were pretty much at their minimum thickness. Immediately I contacted Aleks to setup an appointment to install new brake rotors and brake pads. Aleks was very flexible with my schedule excellent with communication. His shop completed the job in a timely manner and even allowed me to observe the work and check out some of the other jobs he had going on. A week after the successful swap, he even followed up with me to check in to see how things were going. Of course, the new rotors have been performing wonderfully and no squeaking! There was actually another time when I visited Alekshop when one of my lugbolts had snapped. Aleks was able to quickly assess the issue and luckily it was a very quick fix with no drilling required. No doubt saving me a pretty penny compared to if I had gone to the dealership to address! You can always expect to see a nice collection of BMWs, GTR's, and other performance vehicles at Alekshop, thus help solidifying the fact that Alekshop is one of the most professional and trustworthy indy shops in the area. They also have quite a few of their own impressive project cars, including a S65 stroker! In addition, Alekshop will also have private track days for its customers to enjoy. Easier than easy. I emailed Aleks for a labor quote, and he promptly replied within a few hours. He gave me a great price, and from there on I scheduled an appointment. Once I got to the shop, Aleks was very welcoming and made me feel right at home. The waiting area is clean and organized, with fast WIFI. Time flew by like nothing since I was able to get some work done. That's a HUGE difference compared to other performance oriented shops, where they make you feel like a second-class citizen and wait in a dungeon. As for the work itself, Alekshop is top-notch. Went to Aleks to get a full slate of performance parts and full clear bra installed on a new F80 M3. Was beyond impressed with the quality and turnaround time on the work. Parts were installed without issues and clearbra was outstanding with minimal seams. Aleks was able to accommodate a very tight timeline without sacrifices in quality or upcharges. Aleks is extremely knowledgeable on all BMWs from e30s to f80s. I'd recommend consulting his advice to get helpful insight prior to getting any work done.
