Recently had a difficult time sourcing a bearing and these folks took hella time to help me find what I needed. Unfortunately, I messed up and didn't bring in the outer race of a bearing I was trying to match up. The inside was correct and passed the eye test but as luck would have it, it didn't fit my application. They did not have to honor a return. I hate to leave one star because this pertains to one person that works there mainly. The sales guy at the counter thinks he's smarter than everyone and knows everything! He's an older gentleman with grey hair has a high pitch voice, speaks real fast, of the Spanish descent I wouldn't say Mexican. Because his Spanish was a little different. One night someone sold me the wrong part and I went back to exchange it out for the right part. No big deal. But as I was doing so he didn't realize I can understand Spanish. He started talking in Spanish to the other guys that work there, calling me degrading names when I was returning a part that was sold to me that was wrong, he was telling them I was poor and told them to look at the gringo. He was telling the other guys that work there that he knows I swapped the part out and to make sure they checks the part, and I'm lower class, and told them to look at me. Then looked right at me and in english said my guy will be right with you in a moment, knowing I had already been helped, like he was my friend. I've been coming to Allied my whole life! Way before they moved from beside the bowling alley. The store over all has tons of parts that others don't carry but this 1 counter person is always rude to the customers not just me he's been there over 15 years but the guy is a jerk never will admit when he's wrong. He's sold me the wrong part several times over the years and when I go to return it he argues, and throws a fit. Even when I have the part there that I took off the car. He has sold me a lot of the right parts too. Sometimes I wonder if he does it on purpose. I don't even know why they keep this guys. Moral of the story do let the Spanish guy with the grey curly hair help you . You'll regret it. All the other people are good there and want to help you. read more

I have been going to this store for at least 8 years and frankly the service and pricing have dropped off significantly over the last 3 years or so. There used to be some really great people there. Now it is absolute hit and miss. Some have attitudes or are simply not polite, In regards to having items in stock they are unbeatable. That said, you used to be able to go to their site in advance and select your brake rotors from a wide range of performance options. The last 3 times I needed rotors, they had little to no stock on their web page, leaving me to have to get a recommendation when I got there. Then you compare the price with amazon, and they are anywhere from 10% to 25% higher. And today for instance the old guy I dealt with, was either messing with me or just completely incompetent. The guy before him was this big guy that been there a long time and usually has an attitude, but this time he just simply did not care. It is really annoying that you cant pick the rotors before you get there. They are still a better option that O'Reilly's, etc., they just used to be so much better. read more

These auto supply has been around since the the 80's. I remember when their located il front of the bowling place and tri city sports back in the day. My dad and I used to come to Allied almost every weekend to fix our cars. They are still around now when I'm helping my boys fix their cars now. I was doing an oil change on my car today, and the stock oil filter just wouldn't come off, so my friend and I popped over to Allied Auto to look for a tool. A gentleman by the name of Bruce was very helpful and even grabbed an OEM Honda filter from the back to see which oil filter wrench would be the perfect fit. I was struggling to find a high-quality oil filter that matched my car. I went to Walmart and only found cheap brands. I called autozone and asked if they carried Denso or Honda brands and they said no. I asked for them to refer me to another location and they suggested Allied. I called Allied and spoke to Jesus. I am such a newbie when it comes to cars and oil changing that I struggled to explain what I was looking for, but he never lost his cool and worked with me to figure it out. I gave him my denso oil filter number and he found an equivalent brand (same quality) for a great price -$6. It was on sale! I think it was the Beck brand. The technician who did my oil change said he was impressed by the filter so it must've been just as good as the denso and honda brands my technician originally recommended to me. Thanks Allied! I also asked Jesus for 0w-20 synthetic oil. He said they had some in stock and even kindly gave me a quote. At that moment, I was talking to him on the phone at Walmart and debating whether to buy oil from Allied or Walmart. Allied ended up being slightly cheaper so I opted to get everything from them AND Jesus said they could help me get everything. I went to Allied and was helped by someone immediately. I told them what I needed and they went to get everything for me and brought it to the counter. Great service!!! It is also privately owned so not a chain store. I buy a lot of stuff here. Fluids, starter, seals, KYB shocks etc. Unfortunately, I'm getting more disappointed with the service lately. The cashiers are inattentive & lack customer service skills, and so it takes a while before you ever get called up to the counter to pay. Additionally, I've had to return here twice within the past 2 months after recieving the wrong part. The first time, they gave me the wrong Manual gear fluid (luckily I caught this before putting it into the trans and causing permanent damage). The 2nd time, they gave me the wrong axle seal. I pulled the manager aside, which isn't my style. I don't like doing that unless I feel the need to. I don't expect top notch service for auto parts store. i do expect the basics however: efficiency, accuracy, dependability for continuous customers, etc. No one likes long waits and being sold the wrong part. I would normally just not return to the business but I felt this was necessary. I called in advanced to check if they had my oil filter they said yes, they had 5 of the premium oil filter. I came into the store within 10 mins and the person I spoke with said they only had the regular kind. I asked them for 3, so I would have extra for the future. The person returned and rang me up. I headed straight to get my oil changed. As I was waiting my car for the oil change, I realized he had only given me 2 filters and charged me for 3. Also the staff at the Oil Changers said Allied sold me the wrong part. Allied sold me a paper filter and my car needed the Mopar metal one. The guys at Lube boys called around and couldn't find anyone that carries my filter. The $15 spent at Allied isn't worth the time to go back and return the incorrect products.
