I am very pleased with the results on my legs. Dr. Sagar Patel, vascular surgeon @ Vein Restoration, treated the main veins in my legs after an ultrasound indicated venous insufficiency. When Dr. Patel's treatment was over, he recommended Susan Reed, schlerotherapist, for treatment of my spider veins. I am very pleased with the results & I'm happy I had my veins treated. It's so nice not to see the purple ropey veins in my legs. I'm conscientious & careful not to stand in one spot for long periods of time due to achiness in the legs & I'm faithful about wearing my support knee-highs (20-30 mmHg) every day. My support knee -highs make me feel like I have a 2nd pair of legs. I'm considering purchasing 20-30 mmHg colorful, compression knee-high socks to wear with shorts for the summer & start a new trend & fashion statement for all of us with venous insufficiency. I will find a more professional place. If they can't reach me by cell phone, I am a property manager who answers my phone every day, AND return ALL missed calls. The doctor came in and told me I had two fibroids. It seemed very transactional and to the point and rushed. He even told me that my symptoms may even be from endometriosis but didn't tell me what I should do about it or ANYTHING. He told me to get blood work but the office doesn't even set up that appointment. I called the billing department to find out how much the actual procedure would be and they gave me a crazy high number and then said that I needed 3 appointments. Asking clarifying questions gets you NOWHERE. I no longer feel confident in using their services and I'm super bummed about it.

(previously Vein Clinics of America) Most of the familiar staff I've known is gone and the remaining staff has voiced their grievances to me, the patient. Fast forward to a recent experience. I was 5 minutes early to an appointment in December when I overheard the front staff saying how backed up they were. When I asked how long the wait would be (mind you, they should have told me this at check in) I was told 45 to 50 minutes. I couldn't wait this long and opted to leave. Had they called me ahead, I could've come later or rescheduled. Five minutes in to my drive back to work I got an automated message that I was late for my appointment. This elevated my frustration. Clearly there is no communication or documentation. Two months later my card was charged $75 for a missed appointment. I didn't miss this appointment, THEY DID! In addition, they had kept my card on file without permission and ran an unauthorized charge! I received no bill or pre notification of this charge. When I called for resolution, I got the call center. (there is no way to contact the actual office short of going in person) I explained the situation and was told they would have to contact the office and get back to me. I received no call back. I called the following week and spoke with a supervisor. At least he was apologetic, he assured me this would be taken care of and I'd hear back from him within 2 to 3 days. Again, no call back. And, still no refund for this unwarranted and unauthorized charge. If you go here, know you are dealing with a call center for all transactions and not people in the actual clinic. And, when in the clinic be prepared for unprofessionalism and lackadaisical treatment at best. To me, this is a true and very scary testament of what the actual medical treatment may be. I get it that things often run behind in the medical field, but this was poorly handled back in December. The fact that I was charged and the lack of follow through when trying to resolve this is infuriating. I spent 1.5 hours of my day back in December not being seen, 45 minutes on the phone with the call center on the first call and another 30 minutes with the second call and still no resolution. I will not be back.

On the day of the procedure, Dr. De Lurgio decided that the surgery would take place in the pre-op bay rather than the surgical center. This environment lacked proper sanitation and failed to provide adequate privacy, especially for a female, as only a broken curtain separated me from other patients, their families, and medical staff. The experience was traumatizing as I was left exposed to others for an extended period of time. Furthermore, I was NOT informed beforehand that a fellow, Dr. Rao, would be performing the surgery. The apparently inexperienced fellow's surgery resulted in a significant scar and a persistent rash because the antiseptic agent was not properly removed. Furthermore, Emory Patient Relations' "investigation" contained numerous inaccuracies and seemed not to try to resolve my concerns, but appeared to cover their risk exposure. I expected a higher standard of care, transparency, and ethics from Dr. De Lurgio, Emory St. Joseph Heart & Vascular Center, and Emory Office of Patient Relations.
