I wanted to send gifts back to Belgrade for my AFS (American Field Service) sister's children. I told him what I wanted in the way of color and and price and he helped me pick out one carnelian and one coral heart pendants and changed out the leather necklaces to match the pieces. They were beautiful. And yesterday, I took in a James Avery pendant (a gift from friends) and asked if he could help me with a pair of earrings. It took him just a second to show me a beautiful pair of garnet and silver earrings which looked as if they were part of the set. They were $35.00! If I had gone to James Avery to buy the earrings that exactly matched my new pendant, they would have cost me $400.00. Great custom jewelry at great prices; these really are piece of art.

I didn't end up buying anything but it was nice talking to the owner and her son. He showed me pieces here and there but more of a look and see how beautiful these pieces are kind of way. They make really nice jewelry, mostly in silver. They have one of the best assortments of charm bracelets and bangles I've ever seen with masses of charms to choose from, and Barbie can spend hours sifting through all of them and usually spends a decent chunk of money in here. No way should these charms wear down like that to the point of falling off. I took them in for repair and they charged me $25.00 almost half the price of the charm to fix their bad craftsmanship. Displays are sumptuously appointed with their signature ornate designs. Most jewelry is made from a zinc alloy, dipped in silver with a lacquer applied to prevent tarnishing. Other collectibles they carry range from clocks to jewelry boxes, frames, desk accessories and the list goes on. This store isn't like the rest of the stores in Market Square. The other Market Square shops have dusty merchandise stacked to the ceiling, and witty t-shirts about San Antonio. This isn't like the others. This store has a carefully curated selection of jewelry, all from Mexico. The shop isn't crowded with inventory, instead it's neatly laid out with the jewelry on display in a big case. The store is spotlessly clean, and they run things efficiently. The jewelry is mostly silver, with turquoise and other semi-precious stones set in them. The silver all has those purity numbers stamped in them so you know it's legit. They sell beautiful designs, all with a Mexican twist to them. If Frida Khalao were to have shopped in Market Square for necklaces, this is where she'd go. It's not an over-the-top fancy kinda place- it's not Tiffany's, the prices are still what I'd call reasonable. I'm not much of a jewelry guy, but this stuff would look good for Fiesta or any pachanga you might attend. The staff is quite friendly, and they have all kinds of other weird Mexican decorations to check out if you're not into the jewelry. Parking can be challenging, since it's in the midst of a pedestrian only zone, but you can park under the highway in some places and walk over.

This bracelet had a spring-ring clasp that failed to stay on-twice. The first time my bracelet fell off, luckily it was found. I then took it to the Tiffanys Domain store and sent it off to New York location to be repaired. After it was "repaired" it fell off again and is lost forever. The quality of a clasp on such an expensive bracelet baffles me! I will never buy a Tiffany product again. So disappointed.
