I had amazing experience for my first dental procedure with Dr Seda a couple months ago. I have always had extreme anxiety about dental visit, but he completely changed that for me. The procedure went smoothly, comfortably, and I felt cared for the entire time. After this good experience, I decided to have a deep clean there. I recently had a deep cleaning done with Dr. Andy, and I'm very happy with the experience. He really took the time to do a thorough and careful job and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I was especially nervous about the injection, but I honestly didn't feel any pain at all. Dr. Andy checked in with me regularly and was very patient and professional. I have been a dental hygienist for over 40 years, and Dr. Seda continues to amaze me. I have worked in multiple practices that refer to him, ALWAYS with an excellent result. His enthusiasm and passion for dentistry is very obvious, and then, yesterday when I found myself in his chair having a gum grafting procedure over six lower interior teeth, I am happy to report that it was pain-free. He does a procedure many other periodontists steer clear of, (saying it's not possible) called the 'pinhole procedure,' which, instead of flapping the gums back, you make a small tunnel underneath the gum line of the teeth you are grafting, and feed the palatal gum through. It's relatively non-invasive, and the results are spectacular! One day out, I have big fat, beautiful gums, which I know will remodel in the next six months, but I couldn't be happier. Dr. Seda did an implant for me 1.5 years ago. The tooth i.e. crown was lose. I should have gone to my Dentist since she put the tooth on after Dr. Seda did the implant. My bad. My husband was referred to Dr. Seda by his dentist as he needs several teeth pulled, etc. We went in to discuss his treatment plan...Dr. Seda seemed nice and did explain the procedure and then we took the next step to have a phone appointment with Ashley the new patient treatment specialist. I was a bit suspicious that it would be expensive but goodness gracious I had no idea how expensive it would be. When I tried to work with Dr. Seda's office using Care Credit and had to have a lower payment because we were selling our home and buying a new home so a high payment would mess up our pre-qualification they didn't seem to want to work with us. Ashley was very nice and said she would try to see what they could do, but every time I spoke with her she repeatedly said "We do not do the 60-month Care Credit promotion but I will speak with Dr. Seda to see if we can do something else for you". Well, while waiting for her to get back to us (took 2 weeks initially) we were referred to another dentist and got a 2nd opinion. Wow, this other dentist, who was highly referred to us, came in at a cost that was 50% less than Dr. Seda's estimate, and they will work with us on the payments! i have had gum surgery awhile back with Dr. Seda which was highly successful. I continue receiving cleanings from his office. Today Saturday while flossing one of my teeth totally chipped off almost to the root. i was in a panic and called him. He called me back very quickly, had me send photos and told me what to do in the meantime and everything would be OK. Dr Seda is simply fantastic. I'm one of the rare people who has been to multiple periodontists and Dr Seda is by far the best. My first gum graft with a different Dr did not go well. Dr Seda showed me all the ways it would be better this time around. I was skeptical but he was right. -More up to date procedure that lasts longer and looks better aesthetically -New technology to speed up healing -Access to him directly with his cell phone # in case something came up I was talking and eating normally within 24-48 hours of the procedure which was not my experience the first time. It was a breeze and now I'm done for life. Everything went so well my wife went to him, too, for a different gum procedure. Not all Doctors are created equal so do yourself a favor and come in. And ignore the other one star reviews about the front office staff. Like every doctor office I've ever been to in my life, there can be occasional issues with the front desk. If you're looking to pick your next gum surgery based on the front desk then you're likely going to end up in the wrong place. It's been a long time (12years) since my last review of Dr. Seda who did an implant for me many years ago (and did an excellent job as I already mentioned). Dental infection is something you always want to avoid around surgery. Until I saw Dr. Seda, I had been bothered by soreness around the implant and it got more noticeable as I was about to have a major operation. I was pretty worried. Dr. Seda and his very kind staff showed me the problem. I wasn't using a specialized brush to clean off bacteria. They gave me brushing lessons and within 3 days my implant felt much better. It was reassuring see Dr. Seda who has an excellent command of his information and knew immediately what the problem was. I want to also mention his approach and that of his staff is one of kindness and understanding. It was just a wonderful experience to be there and have my problem solved in such a nice and positive way right before facing major surgery. Thank you Dr. Seda and staff. Dr. Seda is clearly a brilliant man, but it has gone to his head. I was referred to him because there are itchy spots in my gums that have lead to me damaging my gum line by absentmindedly scratching at it. He was so laser-focused on explaining why I need surgery to repair the damage that he refused to consider treatment options to help with the underlying itchiness. His only suggestion was "floss more", which uninspired dental professionals have been telling me to do for years, every time I complain about the itchiness. Thing is, when you tell someone with itchy gums so bad that they have scratched parts of them off to "floss more" and that there's nothing else you can do, you're just signing off on them causing more gum damage *with the floss itself*... and then they wind up like me, needing gum surgery. I tried to explain that to him, along with the trouble I have forming habits (like flossing) and preventing myself from attacking my own gums with the floss, all due to mental illness. Unfortunately, when I did, he literally kneeled down to my level and started talking down to me as if I didn't know what I was doing was hurting me. If you are neurodivergent or mentally disabled like me, steer clear of this man. He may say he's an ally, but he clearly doesn't understand what it's like to live with our brains. read more

When my dentist told me I needed laser gum disease surgery, I knew it was serious. She recommended Dr Seda and I could not of been happier. While Dental procedures do make me nervous with high levels of anxiety, Dr Seda and his incredibly professional team did their very best to make me comfortable during post implant and skin graft. I appreciated Dr. Seda's level of professionalism, efficiency, and excellent bedside manner. He is kind without being overly friendly. I really enjoyed his assistant from Czech Republic - she was so lovely and attentive - a real gem! If you have to get this type of procedure done, you want to feel like you are being handled by the best, and I did feel that way. I also noticed his Harvard degrees in the waiting room, impressive. For staff only- I only had a few minor discomforts - the room felt small, and the staff bumped my headrest over a dozen times when walking around it. Didn't like the bumping. What's there to smile about when you have to have a tooth extracted? Tooth #9 - you are killing me. My dentist took one look at my cracked front tooth where I had had a root canal about 20 years ago and advised me that I had better head over to Dr. Seda's office for oral surgery right away. The fact that they were able to fit me in on nearly a moment's notice was amazing. They made everything painless as possible (although you are *going to feel some of it - like it or not). Everyone in the office was super caring and professional. Michelle and Melissa are awesome at the front desk. Very clear on payment options and definitely go the extra mile to show that they care when they are clearly busy doing so many things at once. The bonus? I lost my invisalign (while I wait to have an implant put in). I called them this morning and they were not only able to fit me in at 4 in the afternoon to make a new one - they made me TWO new ones and a discount as well! If you're looking for someone who cares and who can acknowledge when they've made a mistake, definitely look elsewhere... After visiting multiple websites and reading countless reviews, I concluded that Dr. Seda was for me. I sent an appointment request at the end of October and was told that the earliest appointment available was January 4th. This would mean that I would forfeit my 2020 benefits and put off an already dire issue with my gums, but I thought it would be worth it considering the glowing reviews. After a few emails, I received my appointment confirmation along with a promise of a call if there were any cancelations. I never received a call about a cancelation, so I showed up early to my appointment in anticipation of filling out paperwork, etc. The receptionist (Michelle, I believe) came out, asked for my name and told me to wait. She came back to let me know that she saw my name and phone number, but that I was not scheduled for any appointment. I explained that I did indeed have an appointment that was scheduled over two months ago (how would she have my name and phone number?). She said something about a staffing change and started interrogating me about who my dentist was, where my x-rays were, what my issues were, etc. and then told me that I should really go see a dentist first. Wow. As it was becoming clear that she had no intention of trying to rectify the situation, I pleaded with her letting her know that because of my traumatic dental history, it took a lot for me to work up the nerve to make the appointment and I was in desperate need of help. She said the doctor had other appointments and again suggested that I go to a dentist first. At this point, I was in shock because I couldn't believe that this is how they were handling such a huge mistake on their part. She was treating me as if I was an imposter who somehow managed to get an illegitimate appointment! I left in tears and disbelief. When I got home, I forwarded the entire email conversation that confirmed my appointment and five days later, I have yet to receive a response. So incredibly disappointing. read more

Dr Michael and his staff are excellent. Back in late 2015 I had a complicated issue and needed surgery to extract my front tooth. I was referred to Dr. Seda by my general dentist. Dr Seda explained all the options to me. I was nervous as it was my front tooth. We agreed on a treatment plan which included extraction, bone draft and then implant. My surgery was painless, he drafted bone to strengthen it and then 6 months later inserted the implant. During the wait time, they made me a retainer so I am not walking around without a front tooth. I was very impressed by Dr Seda. He did an outstanding job! The whole process was painless and after my dentist made the crown for my implant, I now have a perfect tooth which looks like my original tooth. Thank you Dr Seda! read more

Dr. Seda seems competent enough, and the receptionist is delightful, but the back office operation here is an absolute nightmare. Use Dr. Seda if you want, if you don't have any insurance and don't have any previous periodontal history -- but if you need them to interface with your insurance company, or to get records from your previous periodontist or dentist, forget it! Go somewhere else. Or be prepared to dig in and do all the paperwork legwork yourself (In the end, after much exasperation, you'll have to do it yourself anyway). I chose Dr. Seda when I moved to Marin based on the good reviews on Yelp, so I think it's important to add some balance here. I had been on a program (established by our periodontist in our previous location) of four cleanings a year--two dental and two periodontal. The back office person (Michelle) claimed to have gotten the records from our previous periodontist. She claimed to have been in touch several times with our insurance company here. She claimed in several rather unpleasant conversations with me to have spent "hours" on the phone with them--and despite all that, the insurance company (as I later discovered) had no records of these hours of phone calls and no record of our periodontal history, and of course the cleaning schedule had not been set up. Michelle claimed that our (new, since our move) insurance company would not pay for more than two cleanings per year. When I therefore wanted to cancel a cleaning that had been set up assuming that the four-visit schedule would be continued, Michelle argued with me on the phone for over half an hour and finally claimed that Dr. Seda needed to see me again for some kind of follow-up. But it turned out, the appointment was just a routine cleaning, and Dr. Seda was not even in the office. Office staff set up a follow-up with Dr. Seda (the one Michelle said he had wanted)--and then it turned out Dr. Seda was as surprised as I was and spent about five minutes with me--but this didn't prevent them from billing me for *two* periodontal examinations only three months apart! When Dr. Seda's bills started coming in (with no insurance adjustment, naturally), I called the insurance company myself. They had no records of any conversations or documentation from Dr. Seda's office. I myself obtained the history of my periodontal treatment from my former periodontist (which I had also obtained previously for Dr. Seda) and submitted it to the insurance company. They immediately and pleasantly approved the four-cleaning schedule. Despite having been "suckered" by Michelle into the unneeded and unwanted extra periodontal exam, I chose to pay the price rather than deal with her again. And in fact, despite seemingly adequate treatment by Dr. Seda, I have chosen to go to a different periodontist in order to avoid dealing with Michelle ever again. Be warned: It isn't just the periodontist in the office that you will need to interact with. read more

I broke a tooth that exposed a nerve on a Friday night and was in horrid pain. I called my wonderful dentist, Dr. Garcia and he suggested I see Dr. Seda. Dr. Seda was his second choice as Seda took my insurance. What a damn nightmare! I went in on Monday having been in excruciating pain since Friday evening. Dr. Seda came buzzing in with a seemingly caring stance. I was hurting. He talked about the treatment which went over my head because he talked so fast. All of a sudden his manager, Michelle or whatever she is came into the examine room and told me, well that will be exactly $500.00 and you need to pay it now. She flat out said basically, no money, no service...I just started to cry. I was in so much pain and I am also disabled. I was trying to process all this info and figuring out how to get $500.00 together. I had about $200.00 accessible and would need to get to the bank to access a different acct which my mother handles. I was trying to explain this between sobs and said quite rudely, "we can't do your work for free, you know"! Of course I knew that and was so shocked by her unprofessional and aggressive tone, I had to get out of there. I called my mother and thank god she handled it..I could not even talk I was in so much pain...next day was the procedure. I had asked Dr, Seda to please work with my pain management doctor ( who is the best) as I have special needs regarding pain management of any kind. He never called him, so he ended up under sedating me and then failed to prescribe appropriate pain meds. By the time I returned home after he pulled my tooth, I was in excruciating pain. I took a pain pill he had prescribed....nothing. I was in agony all night and most of the day until I put a call into my pain Mgnt doctor, who handled the situation professionally and urgently. My friend picked up the appropriate pain meds...finally. When I went for my last ( thank god) spot to have my flipper fitted, Dr, Seda was like he was on speed....he kept shoving that flipper in my mouth and asking how does it feel? I felt like he just shoved me in between patients and wanted to move on. I was so happy to be done with that entire office! Then to make matters even worse, I moved to PA. I wrote a consent letter with my signature to have my records sent to me. I had not chosen a dentist yet, so I had them sent to my daughter. Michelle gave me such a hard time, telling me she had to authenticate my signature! I ended up actually and finally losing my cool...I just told her in no uncertain terms to mail me my records! What an horrid unprofessional person she is...she needs to go to back to school and read up on professionalism. BTW, my ex husband is a physician so I truly understand medical finance and courtesy. I am also a former VP as a healthcare executive. I would have fired that girl on the spot! Safe yourself from a nightmare experience..,go to Dr. Wooton, who I should have used! I had receding gums that required soft tissue grafts. (My advice: Don't get old.) There are two solutions to this: the traditional method, which requires transplanting tissue harvested from the roof of your mouth, or a newer method where bone is inserted into the gums through "pinholes". My dentist referred me to Dr. Seda's office for the newer method. I got a second opinion from another periodontist too, but decided to go with Dr. Seda even though it was somewhat more expensive -- because it looked more effective, less painful, and quicker. And I was right. The results were excellent (confirmed by my regular dentist), and it wasn't very painful at all. Both arches of my mouth were done in two visits. If you're unsure whether to choose the pinhole method of soft tissue gum grafts, I recommend it. Dr. Seda and his clinical team and office staff were fantastic. The levels of competence and professionalism were extremely high, as were the level of kindness and empathy. Dr. Seda impressed me as someone dedicated to perfecting what he does. I had gum surgery about 12 years ago plus this time around I consulted two other surgeons, so I can make a good comparison. The initial consultation was several steps beyond any of the other dr's. Presented the options, benefits, risks in an informative logical way. Besides providing good information, I felt that he actually cared more about my health than my credit card. There were no scare tactics and hard sales techniques. It was refreshing that he only spoke like a professional. Even if you don't end up using him, it is very worthwhile to have a consultation with Dr. Seda before you have surgery. Surgery itself was smooth and results were great. Appointments were on-time to the minute, staff and office are nice. But, what set Dr. Seda apart was the extra stuff: personally calling me several times to check-in after surgery, seeing me 1/2 hour before his regular start time so we could get my initial checkup in the right week, feeling that he actually cared, not pushing me into doing additional work that I may or may not need. When I first came into the office I was greeted by their lovely front desk maven and walked through EVERY step of the upcoming process. Dr Seda was very attentive to the specific concerns that i had! He did a gum graft procedure using a new state of the art pinhole technology which he required specific training with specific tools (he explained to me). My case was a little more complicated due to being immunocompromised. The overall product I was very happy with and my exposed roots are now covered (the primary goal). Dr Seda has a very good bedside manner and most importantly he is very skilled at the procedure that I needed. His techs are also very good and friendly. I like how he uses photography/tech to help you see the before and after pictures of your gums. Coordination with my referring dentist (Dr Rink) was also very good. The location was also easy to find and in a pretty location. The growth edge for Dr Seda's office is the lady who does the billing. She was fine for the majority of the time, but i felt her to be a bit rough at the start. The final thing I will say is that Dr Seda truly seems to care about doing not just a good job but an excellent job. It is obvious that he takes pride in his work. This aforementioned single impression makes me recommend him very highly. Thanks Dr S and sorry it took me a bit to give you a shout out on Yelp.
