We unfortunately don't know how old our roof was, so even tho it looked like it was in good shape, the insurance company was gonna kick us off unless we replaced it was hoping to not do this for another decade but I suppose that's life! At least our roof is more efficient and solar-ready... Anyway, I got just two quotes, and it was a very difficult choice as both seemed good. But ultimately I appreciated Tom and his consistent communication. He laid out the work in a straightforward and educational way and I felt that even though the price was higher, I would pay it for good customer service, a long warranty, and quality-controlled work that will HOPEFULLY last at least 50 years. We ended up also replacing the gutters, but the recommendations were all very reasonable. It was also very nice that Tom stopped by occasionally to review the work and follow up with us about it. The roof was replaced on just over two days, with the third day being very minor cleanup (hardly even heard anyone up there). My friend on his bike picked up a few nails/screws for us, but overall I think they were very thorough with their cleanup every day they were on the job (also our outdoor areas are quite a mess so I would imagine even the magnetic sweepers might not be able to navigate easily). I was pretty impressed. While we'll have to tighten our belts a bit, I would recommend Ark and working with Tom if you need roof work done. One of the biggest home projects that we've faced is that we knew with each winter that the roof was inching closer to needing a full replacement, as well as, we also needed new gutters. I had quite a bit of anxiety with this project because it's a large expense for anyone. It's a necessary replacement, but still a good amount of money and you want it done well!! I actually used the feature here on Yelp where you can submit a project statement and submit that concept to multiple companies that will reach out to give estimates and schedule an assessment. I had never used this Yelp project mode before. There was a day where we scheduled nearly 10 different contractors for roofing systems in 1 day. I wasn't playing around at all and if we're going to make an investment in our house, I needed it to be the right business. For Ark Roofing, we were assigned to Guy as the project manager and he came out to the property initially, took photos, emailed a proposal, answered any and all questions, and even gave us positive feedback when we mentioned that we were getting multiple quotes. What ultimately made us decide to choose Ark, out of all the different companies all over town, Guy just handled everything with precision and grace. He communicated any time we had questions. He made sure to check his work schedule and the weather forecasts to try and expedite our project to get the new roof done before it started raining. Guy was patient with checking in, flexible around any concerns, any payment questions, he sent photos along the way! HI - I just wanted to share our experience with Ark Roofing and Construction. We contacted them to get an estimate for large scale roof repair including a lot of dry rot damage in the eaves and facia boards, broken tiles, leaking around the chimney flashing and missing tiles. Thomas from the company came out to do the inspection and estimate. During his inspection (both physical and via a drone) he also noted that the roof valleys needed repair and the roof needed a complete power wash to clear years of imbedded debris from leaves, trees and such. Two out of four roofing representatives actually got up on my roof, took photos and sent them to me along with their estimates. Guy Azoulay with Ark Roofing & Contracting was one of them, and not only did he provide the most complete detailed explanation of materials and everything that would be involved, he also submitted the lowest bid. The Ark crew were on the job at 7:00 am, completed the full tear-off, installed new underlayment, repaired some dry rot, and finished their first day around 6:30 pm. After everything was installed on day two, all debris had been cleaned up around the house. We don't have a huge home, but that was fast! Guy was always responsive to my questions during the entire process, was regularly here on site, and sent detailed photos and drone images to show progress. We had a couple quotes through solar companies then decided to branch out to roofing only companies. ARK was our first roofing only estimate. Before they got to our house we came up with a code word in case a sales guy was long winded or we I just wanted them out of our house. We were thinking,"We'll give them 30 minutes." Tom walked in and we were immediately sucked into the whole spiel. He was so informative, professional, friendly, and we were blown away with his knowledge on the whole project. A half hour went by and we were so invested I felt like we were keeping him too long. We never considered using the code word. He was super respectful and not 'SALES-Y'. He set the bar really really high. He really seems to love working with ARK and the team. ARK doesn't cut corners or settle for the bare minimum. Quality and integrity seem to be at the forefront for this company. As soon as we signed the contract it was full speed ahead. We've had contractors say they'd be at the house at a certain time then they're super unreliable. ARK told us they'd be at the house about 7:30am. The team was at our house at 7am. They work long hours! They are super hardworking and punctual. Even on multiple 100°+ days. I can't give them enough praise. Any issue that came up they were on top of immediately. My roof replacement experience with Ark Roofing and Construction was thoroughly and professionally done. Project Manager Guy Azoulay explained in detail what the roof replacement would entail considering my roof design because of steep pitches and steep valleys. I was most impressed with newer product of Ice and Water Shield installed around vulnerable areas of the roof that included the valleys (a severe leak in a valley of the roof in the 2023 winter storms), and a recent chimney leak in December of 2025 (a rebuilding of a cricket for the chimney, a skylight that was removed years before, and around the pipes. I was kept informed daily with progress updates by Guy, along with photos he sent of the daily work his crew worked on every day until completed. Guy provided me with a few of the roof samples that I was able to easily select in person and compare the color to my home, rather than choosing from a pamphlet. What made this project easy was that Ark Roofing handled the city inspections and delivery of materials!! Every single day the crew cleaned up. Guy took great accountability of climbing on the roof and ensured the work was completed correctly. A key factor in the roof project was to have an Owens Corning Ridge Cap Venting System and Ohagin vents installed throughout the roof. California has not yet had a very hot summer for this time of the year; however, I have noticed a moderate difference on the indoor comfort of my home and energy bill. In the estimate Guy precisely estimated the number of sheets of plywood that would need to replace dry rot - which was a savings of no additional costs/labor. From the moment I signed the contract with them, they were timely, informative, and open in their communication, intentions, and the project as a whole. Before we had even begun construction, they sent someone out to cover a known leak before construction could begin as a storm was coming in. They were able to prioritize our roof and started construction quickly after I signed the contract. I was hoping to get a new roof by early 2026, but they made it happen within a couple of weeks after calling in November! We needed a repair job, and our skylight changed. Guy and the crew were very professional. He showed us all of the damage, and clearly let us know what needed to be done. I called them over the weekend and Guy answered the call and he arranged his schedule to be able to come out Monday morning to inspect the issues.
