It's a mission to make an appointment. Very hard to get in touch with them. The first appointment is going to be virtual. You could wait weeks for that appointment. Finally my in person appointment arrived / weeks later. I walked in to the dr office. The front desk girl told me to put on a mask. I explained Covid is over. We are way past masks. You don't even need masks in hospitals any longer. She was very rude and said / this is their protocol. Funny while she's talking to me, she took off her mask. I explained I would never use a physician, that in todays times makes you mask up in the waiting room. Then while I was leaving, I see her chatting with her co workers with her mask down.. Wow -took blood tests but never got any feedback or results until I asked 1 million times...Outlined all my symptoms which were getting worse over 2 yrs w/ issues to discuss & get feedback but nothing!!! They send me a bill and I called to discuss it because it was a Tele med visit which was useless and no one has even gotten back to me on that... very disappointing ! I just want a proper endocrinologist...I saw him in office way b4 corona and then he was not seeing any patients for over a year... what kind of scaredy-cat doctor is that? My daughter went to him. Dr. Lurie did not answer my daughter's questions. She has called the office many times to get the report of her MRI and lab test results in order to see a different endo. This is going on for a year now and NOTHING. She has spoken to different staff members. They DO NOT care, respond or return phone calls. We need these results faxed immediately bc my daughter is going to see another doctor on Monday. IF I COULD GIVE THIS OFFICE A MINUS 5 STARS, I WOULD. As a mother, I cannot believe this. Dr. Lurie is ok. His staff is pretty damn awful. They hang up on you, they're rude, they say they'll call you back and don't. They're even laughing in the background as they say they're too "busy" to make an appointment. Even his "after hours" answering service has an attitude, but you get the "after hours" service just about any time you call. The challenge is just trying to reach a staff person who can give you an appointment. 3 days calling. I finally gave up and got a new Endocrinologist. Shitty place all around. He missed his appointment and I'm in urgent need of my scripts being filled as I had explained this to the staff who said the earliest was a week out. I knew it would be cutting it close but I expressed to them the importance. Well the day came and the Doctor was 2 hrs late for the call which I was at work and could no longer pick up. Let's have a little talk about Dr. Lurie and his office. I scheduled an appointment for 11 AM on a friday, which I was on time for. Prior to scheduling this appointment, I specifically asked the receptionist how long the appointment will take. I am under pressure to always be on time for work because I am a personal trainer; if I am late, I lose a client. If I lose a client, I can lose my job. I asked this question repeatedly to the receptionist: how long will this appt take? She reassured me that the appointment would take no longer than 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops. 11:15am-- nobody has seen me. I got up and went to the receptionist and asked "when will I be seen?" Her response: "oh you're next, just one more minute." 11:30am-- nobody has seen me. I got up and went to the receptionist and again asked "when will I be seen?" Her response: "oh you're next, just one more minute." 11:45am-- nobody has seen me. I got up and went to the receptionist and AGAIN asked "when will I be seen?" Her response: "oh you're next, just one more minute." By 11:50 AM, I had STILL not been seen by Dr Lurie. At 11:52am he finally decided to casually stroll into the room, after having a good laugh with someone in the hallway, which I fully overheard (guess what Dr Lurie? I'm not deaf). I asked him how long it would take and reminded him that my schedule was based on them repeatedly reassuring me that I would be done and out by 11:45 tops. Dr Lurie mumbled "I don't know because you're a new patient." I began to lose my temper- this is a doctor making how many hundreds of thousands of dollars a year? who is been doing this work for how many years? And he doesn't know how long this will take? I asked him again: "ok, ON AVERAGE, how long does it take to do this procedure for a new patient?" Dr Lurie shrugged his shoulders and then gave me a weak, sniveling, mumbling,"oh I don't know, maybe 30 minutes..?" At that point I just said "ok, see ya" and stormed out of his office without another word. I had never been to this office before. I had never met Dr Lurie before. But I had enough respect and consideration for that man's time to be on time for my appointment. Not only was this blatantly denied to me and my time and my schedule, but every single person in that office, including Dr Lurie himself, was completely unapologetic. Nobody once apologized for the completely unacceptable wait. Nobody once apologized for the fact that I literally have my job on the line because of their bullshit. I can't say enough bad things about this doctor and his office. I urge everyone possible to avoid them at all costs and give your business to someone who actually respects you, your time, and your schedule. If they knew I was not going to be done by 12 noon like they originally promised, they should have told me the second I signed into their office. Instead they fed me lies and bullshit about how i'm going to be seen in "just one more minute," which i guess for THEM is 52 minutes and counting. read more

Dr. Lurie has been my Endo for a while and he has been the best endocrinologist I've ever had!! He listens to what I have to say and has never made me feel bad if my A1Cs aren't good. He also always encourages me to keep up the good work or to continue to try to improve. Being a type 1 diabetic isn't easy, so having a doctor like Dr. Lurie is very important to continuing in this crazy disease that we have to deal with. read more

The rate is because of the terrible service over the phone and online of his office. The send you a bill which you are supposed to pay online TopLineMD and there is not way to pay there. When you pick pay w/o registration they ask for an ID (it is supposed to be in the Bill, it is not)., they ask for a zip code, you wonder if it is the zip code of patient or the Dr. either way doesn't work. After wasting your time in the TopLineMD website, I called the number in the Bill, it is his office, the receptionists put me on hold and got back 3 min later asking me what I need, I told her I needed to pay a Bill, she put me on hold again, after 6 mins, another person answered and asked what i need, I said to pay a bill, no one helped. Then they would blame the patients for not paying the bills when their options are terrible and the patient experience one of the worse in my 20 years living in the USA.
