Yuck! This review is for the office staff and the one of his "back up" dentists. My experience here literally changed me from someone who's always been one of those freaks who loves the dentist into a nervous dentistry patient. NOT OK! In hindsight, I should have trusted my gut and run like the wind early in during the first appointment when I started to feel like woman wasn't listening. I was told I had multiple cavities I turned out not to have, berated and accused of lying about my flossing habits, and subjected to a hard sell on Botox for my fairly typical amount of nighttime grinding. A night guard is the widely accepted and usually effective treatment for bruxism and I've been happily and consistently wearing a night guard for years. You can keep your Botox. Thanks. I returned for a second appointment to deal with the cavities I allegedly had and was having such a horrific and painful experience at this woman's hands that in the middle of things I called a full stop and told her I'd return another day to finish up. At this point, I sought a second opinion. I've always been told my teeth are basically in good shape. I'd had two cavities in my entire life and suddenly I'm being told I have multiple??? One of my prior two cavities had even been dealt with without novicane and now I'm having such a torturous time even when number up that I'm on the verge on tears??? Yup. Something was definitely wrong with this picture. Well... Not one of the supposed cavities has been spotted by another dentist since! When the filing she'd put in needed to be worked on, the new dentist numbed me up and even with my now being a nervous patient the whole thing was handled quickly and easily. So these guys were pretty much going to drill on my teeth for no reason beyond fun and profit! Wow! Fast forward a couple of years and multiple dental appointments with 2 separate dentists to first fix what this place screwed up and to then rebuild my confidence in the profession. You bet I'm here writing a negative review. Save yourself a lot of grief and go elsewhere. I've nothing to say about the clinic's namesake. I guess he himself only sees patients with certain types of insurance (I'm assuming the highest paying). Iirc, he's got additional specialty training (oral surgery?) so it also may be that he's only seeing the patients with something complicated (and thus higher paying) going on. He might be great, but when his name is the one on the door (so he's at least tacitly endorsing any other dentists seeing patients there) I've no choice but to attach the negative review to his name. read more

Alex is an amazing doctor. All the fillings that I did with him were painless even though I have a really high teeth sensitivity. High quality work and gets a lot done within an hour. I'm very impressed. Now when I go to my dentist my palms aren't sweaty anymore . read more

If you haven't been to the dentist in a while (ok- a few years) this is the place to go! Dr. Vilderman is truly amazing and the only dentist I will let work on me. I have seen him in is San Francisco location and now that I live in Los Angeles, I will fly back to San Francisco and Sacramento to see him- I needed a serious cleaning and a crown (or two) and first saw his hygienist. She did a triple threat on my teeth- hand scrapping, cavitron and this laser she used to help my screaming gums (I have veneers). I did not even flinch- I think I almost fell asleep. She was through, gentle and very informative. I then saw Dr. Vilderman for a crown and it was fast, efficient and most importantly, ouch free. If you are a dental chicken (remember, chicken don't have teeth) Then Dr. Alex is your guy. He is quiet in disposition but has a quick wit and has a positive chair side manner. The place is clean, efficient and has tons of parking. His staff is very nice, explain the procedures and your insurance coverage. As a business owner myself, I know Yelp has a heavy weight (both positive and negative) but I can assure you that the quality of dentistry you will get from Dr. Alex is excellent- hands down. His previous work in my mouth (The veneers) get constant compliments, almost daily. Remember, your billing, insurance and even the administrative person in any office, medical, dental etc. is not the one performing your dental/healthcare needs, it is the DENTIST. Very disappointed with this ofice... DO NOT USE!!! I got ripped off and office manager convinced me into a procedure that was not necesarry... just to charge me. I had a root canal done that they also talked me into a crown and a 2 weeks later they pulled the tooth. So, I wasted all those money for nothing which is not refundable. They said it was my reaction to procedure and they had to pull it out. What a SCAM! Now, they are talking about implant. YOU KIDDING ME! Over my dead body! The worst place to go in town! I had such a bad experience at this dental office. I came in good for a tooth to be fixed but ended up having an extraction. No biggy; but after a week of having procedure done my mouth was still in such extreme pain. They got me I exactly a week later and took x-rays again. I was advised by Dr. Olga she was going to clean it out. It hurt when done so she numbed it. She then proceeded to say she was going to clean it out again...she proceeded to do so then i feel her tugging on something and out comes the drill! It felt as though she was pulling another tooth and as she was in my mouth i became scared. I asked her what she was doing she stated "im removing part of your bone, it became inflamed, this is rare! Ma'am you need to calm down I'm just doing my job!" Within seconds she finished. She walked away. I sat in the chair a few as i was extremely dizzy and the front office administrator came and said i could leave im done. I explained im not moving as i was dizzy. After a few minutes i walked out. I returned the following day and requested my medical record and was denied then. The doctor lied about having done work without consent! They're not in compliance with HIPPA or OSHA! I could only imagine how many people they do this to and no-one speaks up due to lack of knowledge of of being afraid! No more! They will be held accountable for their actions! read more

Today was my first experience at Harbor Dental. The office manager Norma was SO nice, the receptionist and dental assistant were equally as sweet. I got the "Zoom" whitening done and couldn't be any happier with the results. Very professional, caring and willing to explain and answer any questions. My husband was recently seen at Harbor Dental by Dr. Alex and let me just say he was very pleased. Dr. Alex shared with us the new changes in this practice and we wish him well in this new venture!! The new office manager (miss Norma) was wonderful. She scheduled him for his new patient appointment and was able to get him seen by the hygienist the same day. That is huge for him because he is fearful of the dentist and it's hard to get him to return. We are super impressed with the professionalism of the entire office. I will be scheduling myself soon! (Firstly, I was fooled by these few OBVIOUS now fake reviews in which led me to choosing harbor dental in the first place.. these 5 star reviews are definitely from close friends of coworkers/DRs and are not truthful at all! If you scroll down you'll notice the real reviews from former REAL clients" so please don't be fooled and save your money & dignity..) I'm not the type of person to bash a business either but I felt so distraught over my experience today that I REALLY felt the need to warn others truthfully on how I was treated today so with that being said... My experience with harbor dental and DR SIMONE PATRICK WAS HORRIFYING !!! I've never been treated so badly in my life. I suffer from PTSD and was nervous about my exam already and when the Dr Simone Patrick came into the room she didn't even introduce herself she immediately started to pressure me into dental implants/bridges for missing teeth, I explained to her that my insurance wouldn't cover it and that I just don't have the money to afford them and asked her if I had any cavities or anything else wrong and she started YELLING at me 1 foot away from my face in the chair every time I asked her to explain a procedure she got louder and louder with me and VERY HOSTILE! I asked her if she was able to fix a temporary crown I have until I can save up the rest of the money for the permanent one and she told me "Why don't you go to Walmart buy the kit and do it yourself!!" I finally cut her off and said "Can you please stop raising your voice, I'm just trying to understand what I need done because I don't understand and this situation is feeling very hostile" she said "I raise my voice like this to explain to you what's going on!" I then responded "I feel like this entire situation is extremely hostile and I don't appreciate being yelled at" she then got more attitude and said "That's now I am I'll just have someone else talk to you and asked one of her assistance to talk to me" " I cannot fill your filling either you need 4 crowns!!" well by this point I was already crying uncontrollably and humiliated and I got out of the chair and ran out of the office... This woman's entire demeanor was horrific! She has no compassion in her entire body and I feel like was just after insurance and wallet money. She didn't apologize for her rude behavior, just said "That's how I am" she smirked and smiled at me like I was a idiot. I've never in my life been talked down to like that and been treated so poorly than I have whilst at a exam as a new patient... I just moved to yolo county and had to switch over my insurance which lead me to choosing harbor dental and I can't express enough to all of you... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!! No one deserves to be treated like this.. no one! I fully understand and understood I don't have a "Hollywood smile" I also don't have super disgusting teeth.. I know I needed implants, my previous dentist has explained that to me and the costs unfortunately I just don't have those kind of funds laying around for THOUSANDS of dollars worth of fake teeth implanted or bridged in the back of my mouth, so instead of pressuring me into that or telling me all the rest of my teeth will cave in and fall around it due to no support (which I clearly have no way of fixing that issue) and then lashing out and telling me "why don't you go to Walmart and buy a kit and build up your crown yourself" -since I can't afford it there!? Wow...I was hoping you would discuss other treatments or issues that I can and my insurance can fix.. like cavity's,cleanings ect if there was any of those issues after taking xrays during my FIRST exam... but none was discussed by The DR. ALL she cared and talked about was implants/bridges for my missing teeth... (these teeth have been missing for 10 years now, in the back) which my regular dentist has NEVER once tried to pressure me into this and told me is was only cosmetic and moved along to repair/save other teeth that needed it.. The receptionist Norma was so very helpful and sweet. I was in pain and my insurance was running out so they worked with what little time I had left. They worked with me on billing and everything. I got squeezed in at the earliest they could. Normally I hate going to the dentist, now I don't know why I waited so long. They were very gentle and helped sooth all my fears. Just saw them for a broken filling that was killing my tooth. Dr. Alex and his team were very professional and took great care of me. Norma and Natalie were great at explaining at what was going to be done, and the assistants answered any other questions that I had. I had about a 10 minute wait- which they apologized for, and took me back ASAP. I saw the hygienist for a deep clean a little while later, and I can literally feel my teeth be cleaner. Office is well maintained, very clean. I am very happy with my visit and will be back for sure! read more

So grateful that they care about my dental health, and doctor is able to accomodate my needs. Great work for affordable prices! Very Reasonable fees comparing to my old dentist. I came in a few weeks ago for a cleaning and xrays. Norma at the front desk was very helpful in easing my stress about this being my first time at the dentist living on my own. I had my teeth cleaned by Roman and he was very nice and explicative of everything he was doing and what he saw. Norma was then very helpful in explaining everything that needed to be down, giving me a full breakdown of prices and insurance which was very relieving. I actually had a positive experience here. At first I was weirded out by all the Russian (?) stuff on the walls, how most of their pamphlets were in Russian, the soap opera on TV was in Russian...uh you get the point. Then, I guess since I'm Asian, I get matched up with the Asian dentist lol. Whatevs, I don't care. He was really sweet and nice and I will be going back. Also, the technician who took my 20+ x-rays and helped clean and polish my teeth was super sweet and very gentle. I will actually not dread my next appointment in 6 months. It did seem like a lot of x-rays but I think they charge the insurance company for each one, so maybe there's a tendency to overdo it. Whatevs, it's been a while since I've had any so I wasn't too paranoid. Also, they have really long hours and are also open Saturday (I think?), so I didn't have to take time off work, which is SUPER convenient. Yay! Thank you!!! read more

Harbor Dental was very helpful with my dental needs! I used to be afraid of dentist but Harbor Dental changed that for me, I've seen a 2 different doctors and i was happy with them both. The front desk girls were nice and helpful, the office manager was very understanding and he was able to work with me financially. I haven't seen an office more helpful! Is it possible to have an amazing experience at the dentist....YES! I was able to get an appointment relatively quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. I hate to admit that I had neglected to see a dentist for a few years. A bit of fear of dentistry. Anyways, I was completely comfortable from the moment I arrived. The ladies at the front desk are very sweet and friendly, which was very helpful. X-ray technician was also super sweet. Dental assistant was super friendly and helpful. Ha! She brought me a cup of coffee, once we realized I was going to be in the chair so long. Dr. Patrick was absolutely amazing, she was very informative and caring about my situation. She listened to my concerns, while providing professional yet compassionate solutions with incredible results. I have been back to the office three times, since my initial visit. Dr. Patrick had me come back in for a follow-up, which was impressive to me. She wanted to make sure everything was still feeling good for me after so much work. Today I'm back in with my son, who is also having an incredible experience. My grandchildren are scheduled to come in to see Dr. Patrick later this month. I have been a patient at this office for over 15 years and I love this place. Dr.Alex Vilderman is the best! They are very attentive and the assistants do a good job in explaining procedures and answering all of your questions. The office manager is great, he puts you at ease and helps with any insurance concerns you may have. I dont know what happened with the other people who posted bad comments, maybe they misunderstood something, but from my personal experience, I would recommend this place to everyone! The people at this office are VERY unprofessional!! During my first visit, the doctor and his assistant were both watching the soap opera while working in my mouth! After x-ray and cleaning, the doctor explained what he wanted to do, BUT when I asked the prices, he NEVER CLEARLY said how much I would have to pay out of pocket and sent me to office manager. The office manager would not give me an estimated cost for all my procedures and scheduled the next appointment. At my second appointment they right away sat me down, but when I inquired about the estimated cost, AGAIN I was treated very unprofessionally. The doctor said that for each procedure they have to send an authorization to the insurance company which was A LIE because when I would not give up, they just went ahead and gave me the list of prices. I asked to step out to make a phone call, when I returned with in a few minutes, the manager said that the doctor does not want to work with me and I should find another doctor. Because I asked questions, they did not want to deal with me! RIDICULOUS! I wasted their time??? I had the right to know what I was getting myself into! HORRIBLE customer service!!! read more
