Classic local food joint. The food is good. I love the atmosphere and the staff, family run and maintained. It hasn't changed in a decade and it's perfect. I love the steak and it's perfectly cooked each time. The pasta is the best side. The sauce is the best around (besides Rom's, Fin's & Tails and Giovanello's) Meatballs are a hit with the kids. French fries are thick and delicious. Haddock is amazing and juicy. The seafood looks great and everyone I was with cleaned their plates. Can't go wrong with Keno and a full bar. read more

My husband and I have been here many times and we enjoy it! It's nice to have a family restaurant still around. The staff are very nice, the food is good and good drinks. I love playing Keno and they have a good selection of food. I've had the ckn broccoli alfredo and it was great! Good sauce! My husband had had some specials and he had some short ribs with rice one time and he said it was very good! Even if you stop in for a drink and some friend wings they are rly good! Hidden gem in Southbridge. Went last night for dinner with my dad. He got the linguini and meatballs. He ate every bite. We asked for bread they gave us a fresh small loaf of bread with butter. He said sauce was excellent. I got the teriakyi chicken with rice pilaf and green beans. Everything was delicious. Green beans were cooked to perfection. I have also had their pizza in the past and fish and chips highly recommend. We sat in the dining room it was very quiet. Waitress was friendly and easy going. read more

Had the chicken Gyro ... dry chicken ... sandwich was loaded with a very bad tsziki sauce (seemed like pure sour cream) ... the sandwich really had no taste. Nothing seemed seasoned. This literally seemed like something I could throw together from my own fridge at 2 a.m. after a night of drinking. I paid a little over $10 for the sandwich and it was one of those deals where after eating it, I was less satisfied than before I started. For a Greek restaurant to not be able to make a gyro ... well, that says it all. The decor looks like something from the 70s or 80s ... and not in that good retro way. It was not clean looking and did not have a comfortable feel. Remember that scene in Goonies where the kids went into the old, run down abandoned restaurant and met the bank robbers? Oh yeah ... same vibe. Service was slow. Took about 30 minutes from the time the sandwich was ordered until it came out. As dry and tasteless as the chicken was ... it is not hard to imagine that it may have been on a George Foreman grill that entire 30 minutes. Won't be back. read more

Really liked this place! We were at a store nearby and were starving. Drive by this place before but never tried it. My husband and I had lunch and a few drinks. He had a Cajun chicken and I had the Greek plate. HIGHLY recommend both, and the ambiance was great. It's a local place that doesn't shun the new folks walking in looking for a bite. Everyone was pleasant, especially the bartender/server. Great casual, laid back place for some great food, local vibes, and friendly service. Will be back! read more

I'm pretty disappointed with the Greek. Three us us went there last night for dinner. Two of us ordered the prime rib and the third person ordered lasagna I really love prime rib so when I called and found out it was on the menu I was pretty pumped. The prime rib came out cold and the au jus was extremely salty. The lasagna came out much better than the prime rib. At least the drinks were strong. read more

I love it at the Greek, it is always like walking into a family members home. When you go there chances are you be greeted one of the owners who also are the ones who make the homemade food. The food is always good, the spinach pie is my favorite, it is authentic homemade spinach pie that is always consistent and the portion is huge! The prime rib is also a huge portion and seasoned just right, it is always moist with that homemade taste because it is always made fresh. Anytime I have asked if something can be made a special way I have never had a problem. They have now added some updated appetizer/ snack foods like waffle fries and specials that change. Big fan of Alexanders! Was hesitant to try it out a couple years ago, but so glad we did! The food is always good, the bartenders will likely remember you and what you ordered last time, and everyone is super friendly! The bar was recently re-done and looks great, they have a juke box, keno, scratch offs, and a fun, laid-back environment. If you're chill, laid back, love talking to the locals, and want good food - this place should be on your list! Oh and their salad dressing is so good!! read more

While I've only had takeout from Golden Greek I can say it was honestly the worst food in Southbridge. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was like something that came out of an amateur kitchen. The ham was absolutely dry and disgusting. The cheese had no discernible flavor and was melted like it came right out of a microwave. read more

Every time I eat here I get sick..... Not going anymore . Just something about the food! One thing I really remember is the fried food was very greasy and my salad was drowning in dressing. :( too bad since the people working there are pretty nice. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch. I got a chicken gyro and my wife got a regular gyro. We also ordered penne with butter for my 3-year old. They were not busy at all and it took 40 minutes for the food to come out. Plus people who ordered after us got their food first. The tzatziki sauce was plain Greek yogurt-no flavor. I've only been coming here for a year, so I can't speak about the earlier reviews, but I love it here. Infact, my whole family and my co-workers love it here. The food consistently tastes good. The servings are pretty well sized, and nothing seems old. I also think the staff is good. They remember what we order, are friendly, and are never away for too long. The decor has been updated, which is nice. It does have a local, working class feel to it, but that's because the locals love going there after work to talk and have drinks, and unwind, so don't go there if you're looking for something super fancy. Go there if you want a solid meal, and some good conversation. It's a nice family run business if you want a break from the chains. read more

This place has pretty good foods two of my favorite are the chicken broccoli Alfredo which we use to get delivered quite often and their Italian grinders I have ate in a few times. The food is prepared well, cooked great, and taste delicious. There is plenty of parking and they also have a bar inside as well. read more

Good, solid pizza with crispy crust. Friendly bar with a new updates and great granite bar. Greek decor with several flat screen TV's to watch the game. Authentic Greek Specialties are offered daily with regular american fare as well. Open Mondays till 10 pm at least. Family run business. These folks work hard and deserve your business! read more

My husband and I went there about a month ago. It was his idea and I must admit I was a bit hesitant. It was pretty empty except for a couple of people at the bar. We sat ourselves in the dining room. The server was very nice and checked on us on a regular basis. I ordered a seafood pasta dish and my husband ordered the veal Parmesan. We were both pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was, especially my husband who has worked in the restaurant world for over a decade. The restaurant has a jersey diner feel which can be good and bad. If I'm not looking to get dolled up but want a good meal then this is the spot for me!!! We will be back! read more

Yuk. I went there expecting it to be like the Golden Greek in Killingly, CT but it was no where near as good. Never again

first thing was that there was not enough menus for 4 adults. We just got 2 of them. Second, was that there was 2 random children related to the owners it seemed allowed to roam the restaurant and stick there noses in other peoples plates, one of them even blew on my sons food. The food was lifeless and bland and not flavorful at all. The only redeeming value on the menu was the spinach pie. Nothing was really worth the price. huge disappointment. not sure how this place is packed on a regular basis but can only attribute it to low expectations in the area read more

I have been here many times over the years. While it is certainly not 5 star nor have they ever tried to be, my experience is decent food at fair prices. The staff here has always been EXCEPTIONALLY friendly to me, and they take the time to talk to you and they always remember things you have spoken if in the past. In fairness I do not typically order the "greek" items as a matter of preference off their menu but in the past I thought the moussaka was good! If you somehow expect 5 stars you will be disappointed, but for me it still far exceeds the chains like applebees and such for value. I agree..AWFUL..I ordered the spinach pie. It tasted like the cheese in it was rancid as did the cheese in my husbands lasagna. The kids got grilled cheese and fries. The fries tasted freezer burnt. The best thing at the table was my other daughters cheese burger! Luckily my husband said something about the bad food and she took $ off the bill. The upside was the waitress was nice and efficient. She cant be punished for the horrible food but I hope she doesn't NEED that money to make a living....She would be better off at McDonalds! read more

Been going here for over two years, food has always been cooked to order, they handle specials requests with a smile, wait staff is very friendly and aim to please. Small dining room with limited tables, so it's busy from 5-7pm, everything is hand prepared, no pre-processed food here. Pizza, baked fish, veal and their specials are always a great choice. Simple decor and a separate bar area, makes for a nice place to sit and have a conversation over a meal, without the typical clamor and rushed atmospheres of the chain restaurants. Great value for your dollars, the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars, is the house salad, just a little thin on variety, but the balance of the meal offsets any short comings. read more
