Driving through Southbridge tonight with my lady. We stopped in at a cute little pizza place called Central pizza. Sat at the bar. Place was small but super quaint. Looked like a small town favorite for sure. Tammy our bartender was amazing. The drinks were great. The hamburger pizza is apparently a staple and it lives up to its reputation. Prices were reasonable and they have a great rewards program. Def recommend it!! read more

Very disappointed. Everything was soggy, even though we picked it up exactly on time and ate it almost immediately. The fried pickles were gross, so soggy and wet with barely any breading- we ended up having to throw them out. And the sriracha mayo that we unfortunately paid extra for, because the cover wasn't on fully and it was put in the container upside down, so that just ended up everywhere. The chicken parm sandwich was also not good, also soggy and it had minimal chicken, and the cheese wasn't even in the sandwich, just thrown on top of the closed sandwich and melted. We also got the honey bbq chicken wrap, which was decent, and the mac n cheese bites, which were decent as well. Unfortunately it was overall a disappointing meal and feeling like we wasted our money. We were really hoping for the best from a long-standing local place. read more

What A terrible experience last night got wrong order. Got correct order finally after 3 hours. They said I made an order online for a pick up when in my 2 years of ordering I never pick up I use delivery only. On top of all this I never got my complete order and it was cold had obviously sat on their shelf or oven for a few hours. Plus the dessert was melted. We had an excellent experience ordering from the catering menu. The penne with meatballs was great - wonderful meatballs. The chicken, broccoli with penne was incredible - I will be ordering this the next time I visit. The garden and Greek salads were also great. Central pizza delivered on time and they gave us big containers of salad dressing as well as lots of plates and utensils. It was a great experience. Ordered a simple Italian cold cut. I called in the order. When I got there they said they needed a few more minutes. No problem. I waited another 15-20. Then they lost my order. Never made it. Then they quickly made a new one. It was totally wrong. I asked for no tomatoes and got extra. Then to top it off... I found a nice long black hair in my sandwich. Terrible. Haven't eaten here in about 10 years. Got the large Classic Calzone delivered tonight and it was absolutely delicious! Piping hot, stuffed with sliced meatballs and sausage and tons of ooey gooey cheese with 2 marinara sauce dipping cups on the side. They didn't skimp on anything. I have been giving this place so many chances, this place is a crap shoot. One second it is good the next the biggest waste of money. More then half the time the food is burned, or the pizza lacking sauce which makes it hard to swallow the food. Just order Dominos it's consistent and if they mess up your order they fix it. I'm not kidding at this last point; I have 2 dogs that love people. I understand that people don't want to be jumped on or peed on. So I ask for them to just knock then leave the food... I was born in the early 1960's, just before this place opened in 1967. My family bought quite alot from here, going back to when Paoletti's Fruit, Donut Chateau, Favreau's and the Pink Elephant were on the street. I even grill cooked at Sof's Spa in high school. The original owner Costa and wife were familiar faces and it is great to learn that his son has carried on and improved the tradition. It has been quite along time since I have been here, the last time before the renovation. My wife and love it. The pizzas are excellent, craft brew on tap, 26 oz Wormtown's Be Hoppy and the cleanliness was obvious. Huge staff, phone ringing all the time, take out busy. We ordered two pizzas on this Monday night, it was their dine-in special of two pizzas for the price of one. Both excellent. Veg pizza superb with fresh mushrooms not canned! Feta and olive with garlic sauce....we'll be back! Excellent service. Loved it! ( I was saddened to see that the infamous langostino grinder was not made anymore but the $22.50 lobster grinders looked great!) read more

I was so glad when I walked in to the newly remodeled Central Pizza in Southbridge Massachusetts last night. My wife and I were frequent visitors there for years and years and years. Growing up is a kid that was the place to go. The pizza was always fantastic the absolute best come the meatball grinder is incredible you will never have one like that anywhere else in the world. I have to tell you they saute green peppers in olive oil so if you get a meatball grinder be sure to get sauteed peppers on them. Also I don't know what they do but they somehow boil their meatballs and it ends up tasting like meatloaf the sauce is just amazing. It is absolutely the best tasting meatball grinder you will ever have in your lifetime. Take a look at my picture and see how they are not afraid to put toppings on a pizza. You can't make fun of the Massachusetts accent but it is the best pizza parlor in the world. The staff is unbelievably friendly. You cannot ask for a better place to go out with the family and have an absolute great time. They've added a bar which is incredible. But once again the pizzas I told him for. And I swear to God their meatball grinders are actually the best you will ever find. read more

Another one of those places that I've passed by hundreds of times, but have never stopped at for no particular reason, until now that is. Recently stopped in to pick up a cheese pizza. It will not make my all time favorites list, but it certainly wasn't the worst I've had either. Nothing remarkable, but I would have no problem eating here again. There is a huge dining area in the front of the store, though this is really a take out kind of place. It was clean and fairly busy for a week day night. read more

I remember this used to be the best place in Southbridge to get pizza and fish & chips. My family used to meet here for lunch every time my great grandmother came from Milwaukee. She loved this place and so did everyone else. I recently moved back to Southbridge and had to come back. I was very disappointed. I brought my wife and 3 of my younger cousins. Hamburger pizza used to be my favorite...now it's lacking flavor and the crust is just mushy from there being so much grease. The jalapeño poppers weren't that great...I'm used to them having a cream cheese filling not yellow cheese and also a whole slice of jalapeño not bits and pieces. The fried mushrooms were horrible. Steak fries were by far the best thing. Staff was nice but from now on I won't bother coming here. Sorry I'm gonna have to go with pizza chef from now on. read more

No rating. I wouldn't eat here. I think central pizza is disgusting , they have rodent traps all around the store and have to clear them daily because they get full & smell. The " manger " isn't really a manger he's cheap , he always charges extra for everything and you get less than what you've paid for , I've worked here and experienced it all. Eating here makes me so sick sometimes , NO ONE wears gloves when they cook and everyone is always sick, and they go through employees like candy, because the manger MIKE talks about his customers when they come in behind their back & about the employees as well. Why there are always new faces working because no one can keep a job here. The manger disrespects women and talks about them to co workers behind their backs, the owner is never at centrals expect to pay the bills & host work events at centrals he has no clue what is going on. I know a lot of people that have had a lot of problems here too and I encourage them to reach out and speak out. This place needs to be fixed for people to feel comfortable here and can eat here without getting sick, Kk's father would be so upset with the way central pizza is being ran, I know he would fire everyone and apologize to the whole town for what these people are doing. Absolutely disgusting. I ordered an Italian sub with extra hots and everything on it (the only way to eat one, in my opinion). Usual Italian restaurants have hots that are red pepper seeds in a spicy brine of vinegar & oil and such. Their version of "hots" were plain banana peppers, which disappointed me. The sub was mainly dry and flavorless. They also used mayo in their Italians, which is just a terrible combination. When I ordered a pizza, their red sauce was too thin and close to flavorless. Although, the little taste it did have was a bit too sweet. Customer service seemed disinterested and standoffish. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza Sunday, usually is very good but not today . Could tell it was rushed and presentation was poor. Also delivery driver added his own delivery charge of almost 3$. Seems that central pizza has some management issues and employees are taking advantage of it. Lost a good customer and i will steer people away from this shady business. read more

I was visiting my mom from my home in Colorado when she said she wanted to have a hamburg (she refuses to call it "hamburger") pizza at Central Pizza. I hadn't had pizza there in almost 20 years, so I was a little apprehensive. But the pizza was as good as I remember -- crunchy hamburger on top, nicely seasoned, perfectly crisp crust. The manager was very patient and nice as my mom asked whether the pizza was the same as 20 years ago, and everyone at the restaurant was very nice. I've been eating Central's food since high school. I generally enjoy going here. Their combination pizza is nice, and I always get extra pickles with my sandwiches when I ask. The service use to be more hit or miss, but they've really turned it around recently to where I always get decent service now. This is my go-to spot for pizza when I'm in town. read more
