We had the pickle fries, the Cajun tots, the hangover burger, the honey siracha Brussels, side Cesar salad and the ambrazzo sandwich. All were super delicious. Tips- sides and portions are huge. We shared a lot of this as a a family of 4 and didn't end up finishing it all. The only thing we might not order again would be tots. For restaurant week I don't know that deviled eggs are the right offering for a brunch app. I got it anyways and I don't know if having the bacon bits would have drastically improved the taste but it was ok. The birria Benedict was good but didn't blow me away. The consomme was tasty. My boyfriend liked his salad but was very disappointed by the beyond sausage panini. Be prepared to be rolled out of here when you're done eating! The food is delicioussss and there is so much to choose from on the menu. We came here twice in one day, we loved it so much. It was that second visit that undid the magic from that same morning. Morning visit: Service - wish I could give it above 5 Food - 5/5 Evening visit: Service - 3/5 Food - 5/5 Lauren and Molly killed it at the bar with their personalities and attentiveness. They did a great job of taking care of us and their busy workplace. It was almost an all-lady crew working that shift, and they did everything perfectly. Drinks were well mixed and poured. The food was amazing on all levels. We went back that evening and the service quality did a complete 180. We sat outside and waited a very long time to be tended to. It took another couple going inside to get attention that got the servers moving. Someone came by and took everyone's drink menus for some mysterious reason. Later someone else came by to ask what we wanted to drink. Then someone else came by to take our food order. The food came out all at once despite how the order was verbalized. We were rarely checked on. And at the end of it all - a 20% gratuity was automatically added. I normally tip that or more for good service, but these guys definitely didn't deserve that much. Maybe that explains the lack of concern. Why work for your tip when you are gonna get one, regardless? No matter, the food was on point, and if you can sit at the bar, do so. read more

My daughter has celiac and eating safely while traveling can be challenging. Everything we had here was delicious and Lee, our server, was so warm and welcoming. They take food allergies and restrictions seriously and have separate fryers for gluten free things. They have delicious cocktails (crushes, they call them) and GF tater tots, burgers, chicken tenders. I am not gluten free and tried the roasted tomato soup and the berry salad. I've always passed by, finally decided to come in and I'm so glad I did! I saw quite a few people at the bar area early on a weekday night so that was a good sign. I looked at their daily specials and they all seem amazing, we went on a weekday so there were specials on pizza and BOGO wine. The service was good and the food and drinks were brought out pretty quick. We got the Texas tots, which were super crispy and delicious! Our server recommended we get these if we're getting entrees because they have less toppings and we were glad for her advice. Our entrees were HUGE! You can't come to Maryland and not eat crab cakes! This one was full of crab, unlike other places where it's mostly breading. It was big enough to share between two people, and paired well with the asparagus and cole slaw. It was a little dry though. - Maryland Crab Tots Crab dip, Jack cheese, and crab dusted with Old Bay. This was the star dish of the night. It was a perfect bowl full of crunchy tater tots topped with cheese and lots of crab. You can definitely share this with your table. It was also their special of the day so it was cheaper!! - Pickle Fries Lightly fried pickles served with a side of Cajun remoulade. I'm not the biggest fan of pickles but if you are, try this dish. They give a decent amount of pickles which are fried and comes with a yummy sauce to dip in it. - Fish and Chips Beer-battered cod served with boardwalk fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and tartar sauce. Showed up 30 min before our reservation and there were open tables outside on a nice night. I went in and asked if it was possible for us to be moved outside and they quickly got us outside. Service was quick and efficient, Natty Bos were pretty cold and the crabcake sandwich was solid. Everyone at the table was happy with their food and service. Before I get into a recent brunch experience last Saturday, I want to point out that a mandatory 20% gratuity is added to the check. If a restaurant is going to have the nerve to add this mandatory charge, they should ensure first rate service combined with a fantastic dining experience. This was NOT the case of my experience. After placing my order with a server who was lethargic at best, it took nearly an hour for three basic egg dishes to arrive. Mind you my server did not check in with my table a single time during this wait. Remember that mandatory 20% gratuity, but I digress?? My table was a party of three. Two of these egg dishes were wrong, and another was ill prepared. One of the replaced egg dishes took an additional 20 minutes to be replaced at which time I had finished my brunch, so the timing for our meal was all over the place. Please note that my egg dish had been overcooked. I was so disgusted with the whole experience at this point that I just choked down my meal without saying anything. I just wanted my meal to end. To add insult to injury, a clown of a manager came over to my table before receiving our check and claimed that he was too busy doing other things upstairs which is why my table's order was screwed up. So essentially, he admitted that he was a terrible manager and had mismanaged the restaurant. To compensate us for a horrific dining experience, he gave us a 15% discount. What an absolute joke! It becomes a bigger joke when you consider that I was still charged a 20% gratuity!! This place is a total disaster. I suggest you avoid this restaurant at all costs. You have been warned! read more

Alexander's Tavern is a typical divey bar with a decent menu in Fell's Point. When passing by I was intrigued by the Brussel Sprouts on the menu, so we decided to give the place a shot. Not bad! There are all types of food on the menu (you can even eat on the healthier side with salad or salmon), but this place really specializes in great bar food. There are pizzas, burgers, paninis, but Alexander's is famous for their "tots". Yes, tator tots gussied up with a variety of fixings. Yes, since tots were the specialty of the house we had to indulge! Of course being in Baltimore, we had to go with the Maryland Crab Tots. These hot crispy tots drenched with crab dip, Jack cheese, and lump crab, with a sprinkle of Old Bay made it worth the splurge! 16 and I both orders the Crab Cake Entree. The Crab Cake was fair. It really needed a sear and from outside to inside, it was way too mushy. The crab cake really needed more chunks of crab. The Brussels were perfectly prepared. One of us got them with Honey-Sriracha and one of us got Mae-Bacon. They were crispy and so flavorful. I could see going back just for the Brussels. Service was cheerful but slow. There are a few outdoor tables, perfect to lounge about on a lovely weekend afternoon. Not sure if I would take a chance on coming here if I was in a hurry. read more

This was the best comfort food I've had at a restaurant!! The whole meal was scrumptious!! Tuesdays are discount tater tot days so I tried the Cajun Tot-chos, which had blackened chicken, salsa, sour cream, avocado, and of course cheese. The honey old bay wings were great. I really liked the melding of the spicy and sweet. I had a salmon BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) on gluten-free bread with the maple bacon Brussel sprouts, and it was delicious. Our server Dena was on top of it. And they even have nonalcoholic drinks if visiting midday - try the Triponot!! It's like paradise in a glass! One of the people in my dinner group had a gluten intolerance, so we chose to dine at Alexander's because of the vast number of gluten-free offerings they had. They're very proud of what they serve there (just ask them, LOL), and it's justified. When I think "tavern," I still often think drink then food, but here you must definitely take the food into consideration first. We had a variety of beers and cocktails (including a boozed up menu mocktail), and our dinner choices came from all over their food menu. My favorite part was the Maryland crab soup. It's very thick, with large chunks of vegetables along with the crab, and it has a great kick at the end of your bite. They could almost pass this as chili and I wouldn't blink an eye. I thought my margherita pizza could have had a slightly crispier crust, but the toppings and cheese were spot-on. Alexander's is perhaps a hidden gem in Fells Point. read more

Went here for restaurant week and ordered off their lunch menu. The first course I ordered was a shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was delicious but only came with 4 shrimp. For the main course we ordered the fish tacos and a cowboy burger. Both were very tasty and well seasoned. My partner ordered asparagus instead of fries and even said the asparagus was well seasoned and not mushy. Also, I did not catch the waitresses name but she was a delight. I came to watch a Sunday Ravens game and it was really fun. It wasn't crowded, but there were enough people to enjoy watching the game with, cussing and yelling included. We ordered two appetizers, the honey sriracha chicken tenders and the Cajun tot-chos. I know I didn't order anything else, but I would recommend both if you stop in! Good, greasy, delicious bar food.
